  • Monteith's XPA

Tried some last month. Nothing special.

As much as I don't want to agree with you jv, this XPA sucks. I'm drinking it right now and it's flavourless, mass-produced pap. What happened to Monteith's? They used to be half decent.

  • Many of 'my offers' are missing prices. Does this mean that they are free? I live in hope!

    • Probably means the prices differ by state. NSW is considerably more expensive now thanks to the container deposit scheme.

        what's that?

I'll post the link to an article about it because a lot of people (even in NSW) have never heard of it. It started yesterday in NSW and coming soon to most other states near you! Basically it adds about 13-14c per can or bottle so that customers can redeem 10c back by returning their used bottles and cans back to relatively few places.

Another article link in case the first one doesn't work due to paywall

        • @8anddrank:

We use recycle bins in Melbourne.

          What will happen to those?

        • @jv: You can still use them (same as in NSW) but instead of you getting your 10c back (that you paid for) the council and the local recycle facility will get to split the 10c and keep it.

        • @8anddrank: This is such a BS scheme. It has added $4 to a price of a case.. we recycle using the council provided bins but now we have to take them to a designated place to collect the refund?? Bogans will still litter.. it is just adding a ridiculous cost and inconvenience to already overpriced/taxed alcohol.

        • @8anddrank: and are forced to reinvest that money into waste facilities and collections. In theory, if nobody gets onto it, it may make those costs form a smaller portion of the councils budget and put downward pressure on rates.

We all know that won't happen though and the cost of the waste contracts will go up in turn

          Why?

What problem will that solve if the bottles are still getting recycled anyway?

It sounds like just another tax that doesn't really provide any benefit.

some body sends them back to SA and gets 10c per bottle ……

    • Phillip store has single fin but no Monteiths xpa

      • Now they do but Monteiths XPA is terrible

Very expensive and average deals. Tried the Monteiths Goldsmith cider yesterday which is supposed to be $10 for a 4 pack, but it scanned as $9. It's a nice dry cider, I can't stand all the sickly sweet ones so that one is worth a try if you are into cider.

  • Yak series were|are $45.95 a slab
If you buy 3, might as well

  • 320ml stubbies brewed now?

    • Mistake, should read 330

  • The yacks are 14$ per 6 pack at bws with the docket

  • Just to show how poor current deals are, White rabbit member deal $20 per six pack! Same beer was $10 per six pack when last on offer about 2 years ago?

    • I think there's an error. $20 is the normal price.

It was 3 years ago and a launch special.
