Is there an actual suncorp page with this link?
Putting in my banking logon details to an unknown web page isn't going to pass my personal security requirements?

An email?, when, does everyone receive said email? OP just says I need a bank account.
Some explanation regarding how to sign up or what login it requires would be appreciated, a link to a login page with no information about what account to use, how am I supposed to use that?

        • They automatically sent me an email with password when the portal was set up

    • +1
      • +3
        • Yeah but as above, trying to find a main public site which links back to that. Looks like the one I linked to is just for credit card points :/

        • @Spackbace:

please revert back to original link i posted

        • Im a suncorp customer, how do you register?

        • @kommy:

          Check your junkmail

Or use your registered email with password Benefits

Alternatively email them and ask for login details

        • @easternculture: Are you sure a free Suncorp Bank account works?

  • Any credit card surcharges?

    • +1

They say 1% but I just got a coles one and there wasnt a surcharge. I think it depends on the vendor.

      • +1

        https://sunbenefits.lifestylerewards.com.au/Default/Info/Ter…

These portal Terms have changed as of 30 June 2017, the standard 1% credit card surcharge on purchases has been removed and Suncorp will now pay the surcharge on your behalf.

        • ah there you go. to be honest I had to accept those new terms and i'm sure i saw 1% surcharge but didnt read the rest of the sentence so i thought they are now starting to charge it. thanks for clarifying!

  • Since we cannot access the site without opening a bank account, are you able to list further details, eg if there are credit card fees, average time of delivery for gift card etc. Thanks EC.

      Coles GC was instant! YMMV

I have been using these guys since about the middle of the year. At the same time, I also started using AGL Rewards. My experience thus far:

Suncorp started out more promising, the gift cards were emailed within 1-2 business days and sometimes within a few hours of ordering. No card fee is also a winner. (although note AGL Rewards refers you directly to the retailer for some retailers, e.g. Woolworths, Myer - these generally have no card fee and are delivered within hours)

    HOWEVER
Last 4 or 5 times I have tried to purchase gift cards from them, they have been horrendous. Issues with gift cards not being in stock or not having enough stock meaning that I got orders that were not fulfilled or only partially fulfilled. And to make it worse, say you order 10 gift cards, and they only had 3 - they send you the email with 10 links for gift cards, but unless you checked every link beforehand, you realise some are dead links which makes you look like a retard when you are already at the counter (which is what happened to my mum last month).
Of these recent orders, 1 or 2 were not very urgent so I tried to wait it out. I think one of them I waited close to 2 weeks and they were still saying they could not get stock before I cancelled the order. These are e-gift cards so I am quite perplexed at why it is so difficult to re-stock these cards.
For the record, the gift cards I was trying to buy were Myer and Good Guys
And now they have suspended my account for some reason. So I just buy it all through AGL Rewards now.

    Hope that helps.

    • I think it's because many people are using these reward sites for reselling.

They may have flagged your account as suspicious due to the amount of gift cards you bought

      • How do they make a profit or benefit form reselling

      • I did not think it was a lot given I have bought a place and doing some renovations, as well as buying some Apple gear.

        Edited to add:
I called up to enquire my account was blocked, said it needed to be escalated. But no response…

I called Suncorp and they knew nothing about this rewards program. How do you enrol?

      • +1

How do you get them to send you an email? I happened to set-up a bank account with them recently and haven't received any email regarding the rewards program

        • its not immediate

        • +2

@easternculture: so again, I have three bank accounts with Suncorp and they don’t know about this program and never got an email. Any idea which department I should try and contact ?

        • @UberIsCool:

Did.you try your registered email.address and Benefits as password

        • +2

@easternculture: I've had a suncorp account for over a decade and never received an email. Have tried my email address & Benefits as you mentioned to no avail. How on earth are we supposed to take advantage of this deal?

    Hi OP,

Is there a surcharge for buying Coles gift card when paying by credit card?

I'm buying from AGL Rewards atm, and only BPAY is free. Paying with credit card costs extra.

    Thanks

    • +1

      No credit card surcharge

      • Which credit card do they accept?

      • +1

        Do they accept amex?

        • Yes (at least for the coles card they did)

          • @paaj: How to pay use amex?

            • @evo7: They do not take AMEX now. See next page for more info.

  • Does the coles one work at coles express or just the supermarkets?

    • E-gift cards will be Coles only.

  • easy to signup for a no free account in 5 mins.

now waiting for the login email. password Benefits doesn't work for me.

    • are you able to order gift cards now?

  • Opened an account but unable to register for Internet banking. The form keeps loading and shows (almost) all the form fields as missing incl. the Account 2, 3 and 4 fields.

    • might be the ad-blocker?

      • May be..

I tried it in the phone and it worked.

    • Fields 2, 3, 4 can be left blank. just need account 1, TAC and password 6 to 8 characters.

  • With the Coles gift card, anyone know whether you earn 3 points per dollar when paying with amex platinum edge?

    • +3

No - It will be one point per dollar as the merchant is not Coles - it is Edge Loyalty Systems Pty Ltd.

  • +5

And the Suncorp guy is now wondering what caused this unprecedented influx of new account openings!

  • we get something similar as a Suncorp employee

    • +1

      Yeah! I'm a fellow employee too. :)

  • Fantastic! Thanks. About to open an account!

Okay. Opened an account and registered for internet banking. Haven't received any emails from them as yet.

Anybody had any luck with access to the GC portal?

    • No luck for me as yet.

  • Thanks for posting, I can't believe this hasn't been publicised earlier. I've been using AGL to get my Coles gift cards, but they charge a 1% surcharge with CCs, but after points and interest-free period it works out to be about the same as a direct bank transfer.

  • Unable to register for Internet banking.
Going to dump it like BankSA, where everything failed.

    • Turn off your adblocker and it will work.

      • Thanks I've tried firefox and chrome with no blockers.

I've had this type of thing a lot lately, maybe 20 hours in the past fortnight. I just give up. Three hours, three calls, tried everything to process a 70c purchase from RSspares earlier today. Just pointing it out for others. You're not on your own with badly programmed websites, failing CC payments etc..

Hi EC, I've created a Wiki for a comparison on the platforms for discounted eGift Cards here. I don't have access to Suncorp eGift Card offers. If you can, can you please provide a full list and then I'll update the table?

Anyone got this after submit appication? :/

    Whoops, something's gone wrong
We have experienced a technical error, and are unable to proceed with your application. We apologise for any inconvenience this causes.
    Please try:
    beginning your application again or
calling us on 13 11 55 to process an application over the phone

    • Yes same thing happening to me.

  • I've just opened one specifically to get access to Coles vouchers. Let's hope this goes well

It's a pity you cannot buy gift cards with gift cards at Coles

    • You can also buy GG concierge to get discounted gift cards.

    • You can buy gift cards with gift cards. I've bought jb.hifi cards before

      • Even visa1 and other eftpos ones?

  • Hi all, newbie here with the egift card scene.
I was wondering if we do get 10% of David Jones, and given the gift cards are cash equivalent, does that mean if I was to purchase an ipad from DJ, it will be 10% off?

    Cheers all

    • You pay less fortunate card then its value.

  • That site seems very scammy…

  • I got this response after mailing rewards centre. Anybody else got this response? I now doubt validity of this deal.

    Thank you for your email.

We are unable to find any membership with the details you have provided.

Our recommendation is that you contact Suncorp directly to see if you are eligible.

It has worked for me so the deal is definitely valid. I recon you need to contact Suncorp.

      • Thanks Paaj. Did it work for you without contacting Suncorp? In case you contacted Suncorp to fix login issue, what is the best number to call?

        • No, I didnt have to contact suncorp

        • @paaj: How did you initially obtain login details?

        • +1

@Reveen: they sent me an email themselves after we signed up with Suncorp - this was a while ago.

    • Yep I got the same response. A number to call will be fantastic!

  • No email yet with the login details.
Do we need to contact them to get the login?

  • Still no email from them about this.

  • No email yet and more importantly no mention of it in the "Benefits of banking with us" section. If this was available to everyone wouldn't they proudly announce it everywhere on that page!?!
    https://www.suncorp.com.au/banking/bank-accounts/everyday-ac…

So i don't like our chances that we'll receive access to the benefits site. I'm revoking my + until proven otherwise.

I hope you haven't failed us easternculture.

So i have just gotten off the phone to a Suncorp Representative.

She has advised the Suncorp Benefits (lifestyle rewards) is not opened to the public and only a few selected individuals get picked randomly to be invited.
No time frame for the rewards to be opened to the public.

    So there you have it.

    • +1

Thanks for passing on the information.

    • So has anyone that opened account received the login detail? Or should we report this deal as TARGETED?

      • It is already

  • +2

I have got this message couple of days back

    Hi <Name here>,

Thank you for your Secure Message and I apologise for the delay in responding.

The invitations were sent out to selected customers only as a trial. The projection to have every Suncorp Customer sent details to enable them to register eventually. Unfortunately, for now customers are unable to register unless they were in that trial group.

It’s important to note that the emails were only sent out to customers who have not opted out of marketing materials. If you have opted out previously, please confirm you consent to opt back in so that we are able to send you these details when they next arise.

If you require further assistance, please contact us anytime or call 13 11 55 or +617 3362 1712 if overseas.

    Kind regards
    Rochelle

    • Just logged into online banking and noticed I received the same message.

  • +1

Not sure if anyone is going to see this, but just wanted to add that my car insurance is through AAMI and I just found out I get access to Suncorp rewards too.

    • Interesting. Thanks for the update. How did you find out? Comprehensive or CTP insurance?

      • +2

I have comprehensive, I logged in to get a quote CTP and decided to take a look at the lucky club offers while I was logged in. It was a big banner on the page that said AAMI was part of the Suncorp group, can’t remember exactly what it said but it was something about accessing further discounts. I clicked the banner and it took me to the sign up page to make a Suncorp rewards login.

        • All I can see in the lucky club is movie tickets, where can I find futuer discounts? There is nothing in the lucky club page. Thanks.

        • @T-man: Have you sorted it out?Even you have a policy with Aami and get lucky club email, you may still not have an account with it.

Register an Aami account with your policy number and login. On the login page, you can find Suncorp Benefits introdction on the right and click on "VIEW now" to redirect to registration page. You must click this to register as it serves as a "referral" link.

Finally got an email about this! Registered and ready to go.

BUT the % off have changed, e.g. DJs 10%->8%, Cotton On 15%->8%, Barbeques Galore 10%->7%, etc.

    • Correct we now have access to Suncorp Benefits.

      Register here: https://benefits.suncorp.com.au/

      • How to get this email to register?

        • You need to have a bank account with Suncorp. The e-mail contains a unique signup link per account holder.

        • @Reveen: the email comes randomly after certain months or years holding thr account?

        • @lilkid28: Originally it was for a trial group, I signed up in Dec and got the email today and joined. So maybe its now open to all. Or maybe you have to be a member for 3 months. Who knows at this stage. It does look good and things like the Coles cards are 5% with credit card AND the card is instantly accessible, vs AGL rewards wheer the cardstake 3-4 days to arrive.
