Best Action Camera under $100

Hey guys, I'm currently looking for a cheap action camera as a gift for a younger cousin of mine. My budget is $80-100.

Requirements:

  • Brand new
  • Value for money
  • Included waterproof housing (or waterproof out of the box)
  • Comes with other Included accessories (mounts, monopod etc)
  • Usable audio

Not Necessary (but still preferred)

  • 4K Recording
  • Removable battery
  • Low light performance
  • Microphone input

If I could get some recommendations based off of personal experience or even some YouTube unboxings with sample footage of some potential bargains that would be great. I have been recommended the Thieye T5e but it is over budget unfortunately. Thanks in advance for your help!

  • I got that Target one when it was slashed from $110 to $49. This was like 4 months ago.

It's not the best, but passable 1080p performance. Includes brackets, mounts, remote shutter, and waterproofing.

Have a look at your local Target to see if they have any in-stock/special.

I recommend the Yi action camera from Amazon. I recently used it on a trip to Japan and it was excellent. The waterproof case was $10 from gearbest

  • Check out Hawkeye Firefly 7S. There are two versions - one has a 120 degree lens, the other has a 90 degree lens. I have the latter (bought from Gearbest for about $90 shipped). It came with a bunch of accessories including waterproof casing, various mounts (tripod/ helmet/ clips etc), removable battery, and so on.

(that's the 120 degree lens model)

Personally, I think its video quality is awesome for the price. Gyro stablisation is great. Low light is ok. Easy to use menu. Good viewing screen. Battery life could be better. I get about an hour from a full charge. But I bought spare batteries and charger off eBay for pretty cheap. And sometimes I just run it off a power bank, especially when recording time-lapse.
