BeyerDynamic T51i Headphones $199 + $20 Shipping @ BeyerDynamic Australia

90

One of the highly rated audio brands in the world, Beyerdynamic's consumer-grade headphones at a massive discount of 54%. These simply sound sensational.

** From Review: **

The Beyerdynamic T51i in-ears give an incredibly insightful performance, revealing the textures of instruments and nuances in vocals. Each frequency is beautifully judged. There’s remarkable clarity and bite at the top, but it’s smooth enough to avoid hardness.

The midrange is eloquent and poised. Bass notes are substantial but taut. In rhythmic terms, the T51is possess timing of regimented precision.

Leading and trailing edges of notes start and stop where they’re meant to. It’s never forced, nor overly analytical. Big dynamic variances are dispatched with enough confidence to ensure vivacity.

  • The T90 are a pretty decent price aswell.

    • Yeah. I thought the ozbargain community might be more interested in the T51i. The T90 I feel are for audiophiles and music producers who do not mind the bulky headphones for quality of sound.

    • I have the t51s and t90s. They are complementary, not substitutes :)

That is a killer price on the t90s.

      BUY ALL THE BEYERS

      • Agree, very good price. I own a pair and love them. Wish they were just a tad lighter though.

      • I can't take the T90s out due to their bulkyness and being open back. Most people get to hear music when they are out walking, commuting and excercising. Even Beyerdynamic suggests that they are for studio use.

        • Most people get to hear music when they are out walking, commuting and excercising

T90s are home headphones. THese are portables. That's why I said they were complementary.

    • I have a pair of T90s, amazing sound, I absolutely love them. I don't use them enough and plan on selling them, every time I give them one last listen and they sound so great I can't bring myself to do it haha

    • Neither of them appear to have replaceable cords. I'd trash the portable's cord so fast …

  • +2

Only concern I have is the cable isn't detachable. The cable has been a common failure point for headphones/earbuds that I've owned and I swore I wouldn't buy top tier/pricey ones without a replaceable cable. Also I recently got a cat and she likes attacking cables.

Reckon it'd be hard or expensive to repair these if the cable were to go due to wear/misuse/cat attack?

    • May be keep it in the carry case provided when not in use is all that I can say

      • +1

You mean a carry case that will bend the cable at the place where it usually breaks if they're a tight fit in the case and bump them at the place cables usually break if they're loose in the case?

Ridiculous oversight from Beyer for such expensive headphones.

        • I received my pair yesterday evening and have to say that the case is good enough to protect the cable from breaking. It is decently solid.

    • +1

You might like these. Same Tesla technology from Beyerdynamic with detachable cable.

    • Yeah, pretty much this. Had me interested, until i found out that the cable is fixed and non removable.

      • That's how Beyer likes to roll.

    • Good point, I end up buying new earbuds every year when the cable inevitabley breaks (just ordered some new ones two days ago). Maybe I should just upgrade to an earbud with a replacable cable… That said I'm kind of waiting until a decent bluetooth model gets release if I'm gonna spend some heavy cash…

      • The Sony MDR-100ABN is currently on sale at just $228 at addicted to audio. I have one and have to say its Bose QC35 killer.

  • Should I get these or the DT 770 pros?

      • These are open back right? I'm looking for a pair of closed headphones with lots of sound stage, which the 770s apparently have. Just waiting for a sale on them :(

        • Yeah open back

    • I notice hip hop artists always use these in the recording studio, I presume they are decent based on that. I think I bit heavy on the base side, which hip hop artists would want..

  • Thanks. Bought the T90. Has anyone bought an “A grade stock clearance” item from them before? Does it get full warranty?

Upgrading from the Sony XBA3 and Marshall Major II. Hope this will be much better.

    • Well, my order has shipped so I guess I’ll find out soon enough!

  • Someone mentioned they have T90 on special too. Is there a way to see everything they have on special?
