Sunboost Solar 5kwh Install

Anyone had experience with this mob?
I know they offer lower end installations, but they have quoted well under other options for me (Armidale NSW).
Product review shows 4 star average with not many bad reviews.

  • I think the problem with Low-end solar company is that they hardly provide any monitoring. They won't let you know when your system has a fault(most of the time they won't even realise). 99% of the circumstances would be the customer to call the solar company to tell them the system they bought is faulty.

    • Good point, but I'll be likely installing my own monitoring system onto it, (partly because I'm a control freak) and seeing how I can integrate it into my home automation.

      • I would recommend Solar-analytics for external monitoring.
Our company has some cooperation with them and they are working well.

Another thing you might need to check your solar installation is the warranty period of the inverters. I would say at least 10 Years. Most of the decent ones will do 12 Years.

  • Not sure how much research you have done but check out this website for loads of information

They have ratings for Sunboost here:

They also have ratings for others. Loads of information about the different brands of panels and inverters.

For what it's worth I just got 6.48kw of Qcell Qpower G5 panels (24 X 270) with a 5kw Fronius Primo inverter installed in WA for $4,500. I know the rebate is worked out differently in different states but I expect that the price you have from them is ok.

You may want to investigate getting extra panels up front, explained here:

And finally the last bits of information I found really useful were these:

Last but not least, this last bit helped me make up my mind about the installer I chose. I was nervous because the price was really good and other quotes were much higher.

    • How is your system going ollie? I just had the exact same system installed in Vic for 7k, the Vic government rebate brings it down to 4.8k but I really envy the price of systems in W.A. I had 4 quotes and all were about this much but the company is very reputable. I know W.A receive larger STC rebates but it wouldn't explain a 2.5k difference.

  • Hi Olliestyles,

I am looking to install Qcells in Perth, if you do not mind, please let me know who was your installer??

    Thanks,
