Can vouch for these - piece of piss to put up for a quality tent.

    -edit
Unfortunately these are the regular prices at tentworld. Reckon you can do any better rep?

    • We've dropped our dacks on these - and it seems Tentworld have matched up! We have plenty of stock in all sizes though - ready to go for the holidays!

      • +2

Fair enough - I can also vouch for Snowy's as a quality retailer, plus Tentworld is out of stock on the 4-man. Keep the deals rolling and the dacks dropping Corey.

        • +1

We'll keep em' dropping as far as we can! Cheers! :)

        • +1

Agreed. I've only had good experiences dealing with Snowy's.

        • +1

I’ve bought from Snowys many times. Always at a good price and fast delivery. Not associated, just saying…

  • Like the look of these… whats the main difference between the silver and gold?

Is it worth the extra $$$ for a casual camper?

    • +1

There are a few differences between the two. In brief - the Gold series gets you higher quality material and extra features. We've actually put a comparison together of the two - to help make your choice a little easier! Check it out: https://www.snowys.com.au/blog/gold-vs-silver-comparing-cole…

For a casual camper - the Silver series would be perfect. If you can afford the extra dollars though, you may enjoy the extra features of the Gold - as well as it handling wear and tear a little better over the years! :)

    • Is it worth the extra $$$ for a casual camper?

I would recommend these, especially for casual campers, as it just makes the whole unpacking/setting up process so much smoother - meaning more time for actually enjoying camping!

      • +1

And to make it even better - how easy are they to fit back in the bag!? :D

        • Agreed, they certainly are easier to pack up also.

  • Any deals on the Oztrail Tourer 420?

    • The Tourer 420 is currently at our Everyday Low Price - and we're pretty confident it'll be the cheapest (or match the cheapest) you find!

We still have a couple in stock, too - https://www.snowys.com.au/tourer-420-fast-frame-tent

      :)

        • We're stocking the latest model Tourer - DTF-T420-F. The model at Outback Adventures seems to be the older version DTF-T420-E!

The model from Great Escape is the current model! Thanks for bringing this to our attention! If you'd like to grab one - we would be more than happy to match that price for you! Just give us a buzz on 1300 914 007 and we'll get it done! :)

        • @coreyfromsnowys:

If anything the picture of Outback Adventures matches yours.

        • @coreyfromsnowys:

          Also $441.50 delivered here.

          https://www.greatescapecamping.com.au/tents/instant-up-and-t…

          again, matches your picture.

        • +1

@anthem29: Thanks for pointing this out too!

Our purchasing team has adjusted our price to beat the eBay sellers! I think we're still a couple of bucks more than the above shipped to your postcode at the moment - but once again, more than happy to match for you!

        • +2

          @anthem29:

Hmm - it is sometimes difficult to tell the difference between and older and newer model. The upgrades could be very minor - im not sure of the changes on this particular tent off the top of my head!

It could be the same tent too - and the code has been entered incorrectly/hasn't been updated by the seller! We're now beating that price and 100% have the current 2017 model either way! :)

  • Any deals on the Oztrail RV Shade Awning Tent? thanks

  • Do these have an insect see through zipped mesh door?
Cannot see any on the videos? NVM can see it in still pictures.

    • They do indeed! :)

  • Corey - what is the easiest tent to put up that you know of?

    • Hmm - the Instant Up's would be getting close! Easiest though, would be a Malamoo Pop Up or Speedy Pop Up. Pull the tent out the bag, and the tent does the rest of the work for you! (besides a couple of pegs and guy ropes of course!)

      https://camping.snowys.com.au/search?w=Malamoo

      https://camping.snowys.com.au/search?w=speedy

      • Putting the pop up back in the bag can be a laugh though 😉
And anything super simple like a pop up is probably without a fly? No fly = stinking hot 👎 this can be countered with a tarp or gazebo, but that defeats the search for "easiest"…
        Good call, Corey 😊

        • +1

Hmm, i'll admit - the first couple of times I tried, I definitely got a few laughs… but once you get the hang of it, its actually really easy! :)

The Malamoo's and Speedy's are actually dual skin - A waterproof fly, over an inner tent. So, very much like any typical dome tent - but all-in-one!

          For one of the 'coolest' tents around - Coleman now have a 'Darkroom' material Instant Up. Check it out;

          https://www.snowys.com.au/instant-up-gold-4pv-dark-room

  • Should I go for the 4P or 6P Gold? Most likely just for two people.

    • +1

Hmm, for 2 people i'd go the 4P. However - if you're both using large stretchers and/or have a bunch of gear you want to store in the tent with room to move, the 6P may be worth considering.

      • +1

Never actually camped before lol. The 6P looks to be better value and I think I'll go with that.

        • I think you'd be stoked with either size! Just make sure you have room in the car - the 6P is a little longer packed away!

Hope you enjoy your first camping experience!! Make sure you get in touch if you have any questions or need some advice :)

        • +2

IMO go the 6P so you have room for your gear, you get an extra metre in depth. My tent is 420 deep and between the two of us is still cozy fully equipped :P

          But enjoy camping! Nothing better!!

        • +2

Go the 6p - it's great to have the extra space, and is no harder to set up.

  • Can you give me the actual measurements please? Im not planning to fill it with water but planning to sleep in it

    • +1

      The 4P has the following dimensions;

      External Dimensions: 240L x 240W cm
      Sleeping Area: 230L x 230W cm
      Packed Dimensions: 112L x 25W x 24H cm
      Max. Head Height: 190 cm

I have a Coleman traveller's instant up tent (now out of production). I think it's the cat's pyjamas. This series is a step up, and if still in production, these are very good prices. If you're worried about the investment, you'll be rewarded with your first outing - it really is an easy set up, great height & ventilation.
(I almost wrote about it being a stress free erection, but I don't want things to get too in-tents…)

    • Stress free erections had a few of those in my lifetime

    • +2

We're stumped at how they can offer these prices - but we've matched up within a couple of bucks!

      • And back up to their normal price now that the Amazon deal has expired.

Knew I should have bit the bullet instead of trying to find a tarp and pegs to add to my order…

Oh well… money saved for the next OzBargain I don't really need!
