  • Any deals on the human body sensor?

    • On this subject, is it fair to say we would normally need more than 1 body sensor on average? Just to ensure that the gateway understands there is movement hence don't deactivate anything whilst human is around?

      • I use these with Homeassistant. Usually you can use one per room.

Thanks op. Came to $5.23 using Gearbest's AUD.

    • $5.18 here when i used GB's AUD.

  • What does this do?

    • I'm curious too.
      But for now..
buy now find out later haha

Can program it to do actions to whatever else is linked in the mi home app. For me I do a long press and it activates the alarm on the gateway. For double press it turns on the smart plug outside, which turns on my floodlight

        • can you program it via your phone to turn on for example the AC at certain times. (Or even control things remotely at work)

        • @Gimli: You cant . It has to be done physically. pressed ,double clicked or long pressed.
You can program other devices to work based on your input.

        • @Gimli: That sort of programming and remote control are based on the hub. I mainly use the Samsung SmartThings hub with my Xiaomi devices, but I also see that the Xiaomi hub has time-based control and remote control as well.

        • @Gimli: It is possible, but you would need to have a server/PI running homeassistant and a broadlink IR blaster for example. But the button itself would then not be required

Can I play Breath of the Wild on this?

Thanks OP, finally managed to grab one! $5.23 using AUD as mentioned above.

How do you ask for coupon? Was gonna ask one on this switch after missing the deal for the other one.

Just message the rep on here and ask :)

  • Nice! Now to wait for a gateway!

  • +5

probably note for those new to Xiaomi Smart-products that this switch requires a gateway.

    • Any ZigBee gateway or a Xiaomi bridge specifically?

      • The button can connect to the Xiaomi gateway or Samsung Smartthings hub.

  • Damn…expired already!!!

  • These deals last for like 5 minutes, always miss out :S

    Great price anyway!

  • Expired!! Missed out. Serves me right for mowing the lawn this morning.

  • Expired now, unfortunately

  • What is the gateway required for these and how does it work?

    • +1

It uses the Xiaomi Zigbee gateway as used in this kit https://www.gearbest.com/xiaomi-zigbee-gateway-_gear/ .

The switch can have one tap, two taps and long hold to perform three different commands.

I program the actions on mine via the Xiaomi Mi Home app on Android phone but I believe you can also use IFTT and other automation software as well.

I did read it can work with Google Home as well with appropriate automation set up.

Bought. Now time to ask questions. How does this work? Lol.

I have 3 yeelights. That's all. If I get the Xiaomi Umbrella, will this change the weather?

  • Expired :(

  • does anyone hnow, what batteries are required for these buttons?

    • +2

      Tiny ones!

      I think these use CR2032.

Door Switch is CR1632, Human Body Sensor CR2450.

I can't find the original bit of paper in English that explained which used which, above is from my notes.

If you don't have any bits yet and really want to play with this stuff I recommend the kit ie https://www.gearbest.com/alarm-systems/pp_600096.html which has Gateway, Human Body Sensor, wireless switch, wireless door/window open sensor and remote controlled power measuring 240V socket.

If you add the individual bit prices to compare it is a bargain. It can sometimes be Ozbargained much cheaper like the bits, my kit cost AU $60.56 on a LITB special a while back. I program/control mine via the Mi Home app currently.

The gateway can be used to set fairly complex scenarios with all the bits including scheduling. It can also play Chinese Internet radio stations until you hack it to make it a little more wordly. I love them.

    • I have also since got the Temperature/Humidity Sensor via ebay $12.59 + have the Mi Cube coming. The Mi Cube has 6 control actions and cost $17.27 via ebay.

    • Does the Gateway plug into normal sockets pretty easily? Iirc, it has the Chinese 3 pin socket which is pretty similar to our Australian one? Just picked up a temperature/humidity sensor and have a Yeelight RGB/light strip on the way.

      • Sometimes it can stick out a tiny fraction because of power switch but doesn't really make a difference. Power board solves that problem though.

It plugs in ok but as it's 8cm wide it can block other points. If you wish to use it's lighting abilities you just run a lead to it and position for optimal lighting.

    • It can also play Chinese Internet radio stations until you hack it to make it a little more wordly. I love them.

Do you need to understand Chinese Mandarin to do all this? Hell with heck, I be happy with successful installation and pairing to their devices.

      • No, all setup fairly easily although the gateway talks in chinese to acknowledge the steps, I just assumed it was working and proceeded ok. The phone app was in English.

  • Weirdest thing! I just got mine delivered today…how does that work???
