Garmin Forerunner 735XT GPS Multisport Watch $349 Shipped (RRP $599) @ Rebel Sport

360

Garmin Forerunner 735XT GPS Multisport Watch at the lowest price I have seen -rrp $599. Possibly superseded by the new 645 that can store music, however this is a great watch for running, swimming and cycling.

  • Still waiting on any kind of decent sale on the Vivoactive 3… Seen a couple of recent catalogues that have advertised the normal price as a "special"

    • Rebel had a big lot of specials before xmas (Nov 15th).
      I got a $499 version 3 for $359.20
A little miffed due to it needing charging every day compared to the Mk1 version which was the best part of a week if memory serves.
I also liked the originals face in that it gave the day, date and time unlike the new one with time only.
The 3 does have a face easier to read at night though which is a big improvement and I like not needing to wear a chest strap.

      • What?! :-o
I've been checking since it was released and haven't found much better than full price, or discounts that still didn't make it worth the purchase

        This one?

As an aside — battery life is meant to be 7 days without GPS use. I'd take that back if you're having to charge every day

        • Yeah thats the one.

See here is where I found it: https://www.ozbargain.com.au/node/342294

Its a PITA to get back to Rebel to have a whinge.

I'll have to do something though as its been p'ing me off.

        • @Rifraf:

Damnit missed that one… I've only been looking since late Nov / early Dec. That one is from early Nov
Would have gotten JB to price match and spent up some leftover gift vouchers

Guess maybe another will come along… Eventually :'(

        • Not to rub salt in the wound or anything but I got the black one for 300 with a Harvey Norman price match of Rebel and the $100 Amex credit at the time.

As for the battery life if you tweak it (backlight, certain sensors etc) and don't use GPS you can get 7 days but I normally get 3 days with around an hour of GPS/Glonass per day without charging.
Normally I chuck it on change when I have a shower and haven't run out of juice yet.

        • @Rifraf: Don't know already but if you are using firmware pre v2.80 (currents v2.90) and/or certain downloaded watch faces you may be experiencing a known battery drain bug due to the watch face forcing the GPS active.

        • @Calcifer:

Are you a Bupa member? If so you can get 20% off all Garmin items for 20% off.

        • @Jeffreylin:

No, I'm not. But I'll see if my provider offers anything

Still only brings the Gunmetal version down to $400

        • @MoneyPincher:
          Thanks for the suggestions but….
I think I've turned off the gps thinking this might have been the issue but to no avail.
I use Garmin Express regularly and keep the firmware up to date.
I've not downloaded or changed any watch faces and have not connected any sensors nor have I set the watch to send my HR to my Edge unit.
Two days is the best I've ever gotten out of it.

  • Cheers OP, bought.

If anyone's wondering why their 'free' postage isn't, check your postcode.

  • Nice find OP, Rebel sport ebay also has it listed at $349 with free postage. With PICK5, you could get it for $331.55 ($328.06 with CR). Only has 3 left though on the site, not sure if they'll update stock with it if it sells out. Still waiting for a good price on the 935 myself (better battery life + altimeter)
