  • Is this a successor to S3?

  • +1

WTF! I paid $497 for this 1 month ago.

The S3 is a different type of watch. You can't swim with the S3 and it's big.

This is the laziest ad I have ever seen.

    • Low overheads gives best value

The price seems too good to be true for local stock, despite what the rep said (or does their interpretation of local stock = grey import stock that is already in the country?). Crappy listing adds to my suspicions…

    • $380 without discount doesn't seem too unreasonable. Especially when considering HN list it for $447 without any pressure from competition. From looking into store's other articles it seemed genuine enough for me to buy. Here's wording from store rep: "I've looked at the information available to me for this product and everything I can see indicates that this is the Australian model of the device and that it comes with 2 Years Warranty."

Also, model is listed as SM-R600NZKAXSA with XSA indicating Australian version. So if in fact international you can make a case for false advertising.

      • Fair enough, if they are indeed AU stock then this is a great price.

      • Thanks for the post OP. Want to pull the trigger on this but a little concerned about some of the info…

google seems to show the same model number for international stock, do you have any more info on where you've been able to confirm XSA indicates an aussie version?

also, i'm a little worried about the store reps response. Why wouldnt he/she know for sure that it is aussie stock? Also, are they saying everything they can see indicates that […] it comes with two year warranty???

        • If you want to be really sure why not ring and ask for serial number to check with Samsung?

        • @dynamike:

Already sent them a msg. Just thought I'd ask in case you knew more.

          @dynamike:

Rep confirmed aus model but stated 12 months warranty.

        • @Dc2itr:

I pulled the trigger on Friday but haven't had any correspondence since.

Did any of you guys buy the Gear Sport from these folks and have you received it yet ?

oh and thanks OP. Great price !

        • @navman86:

Yes they're slow with updating postage details. In fact they only added them after I followed up but by then I already had the dreaded "we missed you" from Startrack in the letter box.

So postage was super fast for me but now I'm stuck fighting with startrack about redelivery as I refuse to drive 40km to pick it up from their depot. Never had a good experience with startrack.

        • @dynamike:
Thanks for the reply mate. That's good to know. The only reason I ask is because I am going overseas in 2 weeks time and would like to claim the GST. So hopefully I will receive it by then.
Just so I know and dont miss Startrack - How long did it take between you placing the order and delivery ?

          Cheers

        • @navman86:
          2 days to Brisbane

        • @dynamike: That's good to know. I will wait another couple of days and ask them about its whereabouts.
Thanks for the replies though - much appreciated.

  • Can you go walking with just the Gear Sport (without taking the phone) and having it use GPS to track where you've been?

  • Just bought this from Amazon for around $350 AUD. I couldnt find any places cheaper than that HN price and didnt want to wait any longer!

    Pretty average ebay ad though.

  • In case it comes up in the future - the watch I received was the genuine Australian version.
