I'm enlisting your help in finding me a ps3 console. I bought gt5 already but I need a console to play. If you know of any deals going on right now please let me know.

    I'd have thought they'd be selling a bunch of consoles packaged with GT5 :o Not that I've looked :)

    Where did you buy GT5 from? Do they take returns? Just return the GT5 you get with the HN deal using the receipt from your original purchase. And/or sell/trade it in. Its still the best deal.

    If you want a barebones deal, you're looking at around the $450 mark.

      I wouldn't put too much hope into a COTD 'bargain' :) Go read one of the threads and feel the rage of thousands of people fighting over 20 PS3 :)

    dont worry too much about the hdd, it cant be updated in 10 minutes, even quicker if you dont need to back any data up

    I'm also selling a new PS3. It's a 120GB model for $300. Yes it's from THAT sale. I've seen people sell them for much more on ebay. I was going to keep it but I found out my fat PS3 can be upgraded to play 3D blu-ray. Pick up: Bundamba, Ipswich (QLD).

    So far the lowest I have seen is $399 for bare console - 160 gig from JB.

    I am hanging out for a boxing day sale.. hoping for either less than $400 or $400 with a game or 2.

    Not sure when the slaes get advertised as such and I don't get the paper so not sure if catlogs will come out in advance.

      Actually the $359 option looks great… I was going to go in store to get the $399 deal though they are not advertsing that price. The $499 deal blows unless you really want those games.. you are savign about $40 at most over buying the $399 (even without 10% discount) and just buying the games you actually want.

    Hmmm. they are doing dodgy buggers by the looks… no advertisement now of the paypal discount and the 160 GB has gone up to $458 yet supposedly "on sale".. what a crock.

    I am about to head in store so see what price I can get…

    got mine at cotd jan last year for 350 with cashback, i really thought that the price would be going down on these consoles…

    Yeah, 350 with CoTD last Xmas too. I know everyone negs CoTD but that was a really good deal for me, especially since I couldn't find it for less than 470 around here at the time.

    If you can hang on and you (or a friend) are looking for a TV you may see some Sony TV + Playstation deals coming up soon this year.
