Where do I enter the coupon code?

  • No Coupon needed

It's showing me higher AUD price than mentioned in the title

  • Choose USD as your currency from top left hand corner. Don't select AUD, always choose to pay in USD, it will work out cheaper even after your credit card conversion fees. Also read the below.

How do I ensure I get the cheapest AUD price possible

  • To avoid higher currency conversion rates and to get cheapest price from these Chinese websites, you should get a credit card that charges zero currency conversion fees. 28Degrees, Bankwest Zero, Coles Mastercard are generally popular. Irrespective of what credit card you use, always choose to pay in USD on these Chinese websites, (Go back to main page, Choose "USD" from top left hand corner). Additionally set your Paypal so it "bills you in the currency on Seller's Invoice". To set your PayPal account this way permanently, follow the steps shown in these snapshots [Highly recommended]

Only thing putting off this phone is the lack of support for other Qc chargers. Have a bunch of blitzwolf and Aukey and other good quality chargers that I won't be able to use on this phone. For that reason I'm out. Oh and maybe when the price drops below $500.

    • +5

You can buy the cheap OPPO ones anyway. Nothing comes close to this phone for the price.

      https://forum.xda-developers.com/oneplus-3/accessories/vooc-…

      • how does it compare to xiaomi phones?

        • +1

It runs OxygenOS which is very close to stock Android and has full source code release by the developer so sees more custom ROM developments.

      • Xiaomi Mi Mix 2 does and it's cheaper. I just bought one.

        • Been looking at that phone from a while. Got a link to where you bought it from?

        • @Currify: yeah I'll find it for you.

          Here: https://m.joybuy.com/600145192.html

$575 USD which is about $630 from memory. That's the 128gb version too

        • +1

@MrSammyMcG: Ta! Ended up going for a Pixel 2XL in the end :)

        • @Currify:

Yeah fair enough they're a nice phone and I was tempted to go with one of those or the Note 8 but they're just too far out of my budget. (Nearly double)

    • +3

Dash charging is so so much better than Qaulcomm's QC. I bought this phone for $700 when it came out and i still don't regret it.

      • does it have the scroll bug?

does it come with a dash charger?
or how much it cost to buy one?

        • +1

          5T owner here.
          The box includes:
          - The phone
          - A Dash charger
          - USB C cable
          - Plastic Phone case
          - Screen protector (already applied)
          - and a quick start guide

        • @Cunningham: does it have the scroll bug?

        • @pinkybrain: No. The 'scroll bug' on the 5 is just an illusion created by your eyes who are not used to it and supposedly they are able to adjust to the bug. The 5t does not have an upside down refresh direction.

        • @bananabendera:
          what you mean illusion?

the bug has been demonstrated on many sites and youtube.

        • +1

@pinkybrain: Yeah, it's not a bug, just your eyes not used to the scrolling direction. Flip your current phone upside down. Now scroll. Same effect.

      • I bought for $720 a couple weeks ago in PCTECH eBay sale. It's an awesome phone.

I'm on the hunt for a new phone since my Nexus 6P begun having battery problems (it's just a matter of time before the bootloop error happens IMO), and this is a really tempting offer. But I'm pretty much on my own in terms of warranties claims for a seller like this right? I know consumer laws apply but I can imagine the pain of trying to get a refund or repair with an international seller like this.

Maybe I'll just wait for a deal from a seller in Australia…

    • -7

it is certainly worth paying a little extra for local 2 years warranty .

      • +7

Which seller offers this? I want a 5T but I was under the impression there is no reliable warranty here

        • +6

Yeah OnePlus doesn't officially operate in Australia.

      • +2

Uh, not really an option with this phone.

    • New battery from eBay installed in my 6P yesterday and has fixed battery issues. Full days battery life again!

      • Did you install it yourself or have someone else do it? I'm scared of wrecking the phone :(

      • Also interested in this. Found it costs around $100 to replace professionally though, so not the worst.
I think a new battery in the 6p should see the phone last for at least another year though, given the specs it has…

        • Yeh, self install. Bought the battery from eBay, came with tools. Decent hair-dryer for heat and a old school razor blade to get under the two stuck on pieces on the back. Rest is pretty easy. Plenty of YouTube videos to walk you through. Like having a new phone again

      • getting off the visor and the bottom bit is pretty hard. I think it is easier if you put enough heat but I would always end up breaking them. Opening the case after is not easy either, I ended up pushing through a small hole beneath the bottom cover bit. The rest is easy. I opened my phone twice but I replaced the whole housing both times - it is about $20. I got an Hsabat battery, it works fine, but seem to have around 3150 ma capacity and I am still not sure if the fast charging is working. The phone got a lot faster now as well than it was on the old battery

    • +1

I bought mine from an ebay seller claiming 1 year warranty. If you get it from a seller that operates in Aus then you are covered by consumer laws regardless of whether or not oneplus officially sell in Aus or not.

I got mine here https://www.ebay.com.au/itm/OnePlus-A5010-5T-Black-Dual-4G-L… . $30 more than this deal but if you are worried about warranty then maybe a good option.

      • +2

Ends up the same price if you use the code PICK5 at checkout for 5% off

      • +1

Hey I've been eyeing the phone from this seller for a while.
Any issues with the seller? and happy with everything so far?
        Cheers

        • Yeah happy so far, no dramas with the seller and the phone shipped and arrived within a week. Since they sell a lot of Chinese phones it seems they make sure they are setup in english before they ship them out and apply the screen protector that comes with the phone so it's pretty hassle free.

Hopefully I'll never have to find out how they go about handling warranties.

        • @static: thanks so much. I hope you don't have to use the warranty either!

          Thanks for the feedback!

        • @static:
Did you pay for the express shipping? And did it come with a tax invoice showing GST?

        • @gilbert151: No to both of those questions

      • this is a better/cheaper option if combined with ebay promotion(10% or the like) and discounted gift card.

    • +1

I was having the same issues with my 6P, phone dying at 30 or so percent. Rare cases, it'd shut down at 60%. Read all the comments and forums and the solution came down to replacing the battery. Went down to Repair Mate and cost me $100. Now the phone is working brand new!

      • +1

Are we all thinking of replacing 6P :). Changed battery a month ago and the battery life like new. However, I'm getting laggy nowadays especially playing my Mavic pro… Still looking for a decent phone to justify new purchase…

      • That seems like a good alternative to forking out half a grand for a new phone. I'll definitely consider it!

    • i bought a used pixel 1 off gumtree for 330, couldnt be happier

    • You will have to deal directly with the overseas supplier for warranty claims ie shipping at your own cost

  • +5

they might release OnePlus 6 by the time ur order gets delivered.

    • The shipping estimate on the website said 3-6 business days. I ordered one. We'll see how long this takes.

      • +4

I waited 45 days for my phone from litb, don't hold your breath

        • Thanks for the heads up.

      • I'd allow 2 weeks.

      • 3-6 business days as long as they have stock. I ordered a phone and one week later they are still "processing" my order.

      • In case anyone was following this, I received the phone on 15/02. A total turn-around of 11 business days or ~2 weeks.

Oddly enough, LITB marked the phone as "sent" on the day of order, but the DHL tracking shows it was received by them on 13/02 and delivered on 15/02.

    • Is it that bad even when they have the listed times? For someone who actually wanted a phone within a reasonable time period, are you better off going for one of the eBay sellers like buybuybox?

      • +1

yeah. ordered mine midday Saturday from seller 7272will and received it 10am Monday. With 5% off came to like $588; needed it fast as my previous 5T didn't survive Aussie day :( rip.

  • +2

Still waiting on my order from geekbuying from the 5th of January, I wish you guys speedier service!

    • +3

:) we have this in stock and free express shipping, so might arrive in 1 or 2 weeks

      • "Might"…. Definately Apt. Although to be fair I have had better luck with LITB than with Gearbest. LITB seems a bit more faster / reliable.

      • Might means it will never come maybe? Or might longer than that? Might means all possibilities.

  • Have the OnePlus 5.. great phone! Never looking back.

  • Any chance you can do a deal on the 128GB model? Cheers!!

  • I assume because there is no Australian stock for this phone the charger needs an adapter?

  • +4

I bought something from LightInTheBox and it has been a month still not arrived yet.

    • +2

I bought a cable and it never came to me for 12 months

      • Still waiting?

        • +2

          With faith

      • normally most package will arrive in 2 months, if not, it might lost on the way, you can pm me the order number. so i can better check it. if lost, i will help you get refund.

    • standard shipping or same small package free shipping normally take 3-5 weeks. if package not arrive in 2 months, feel free to pm me and get your money back in 1 day. i'm always online.

      • from experience if it didn't arrived in one month mostly you not getting your stuff. I have three orders and all of them didn't arrived yet, the tracking route didn't make sense and it take ages to update, you can see a lot of people have a similar issue.

        • Xmas delayed many package, such as this order
          https://www.ozbargain.com.au/node/357826

most of package will arrive, just need few time, the track information always update when it arrive to next place. and express shipping more fast than that, but also more expensive.

    • I ordered my Viofo A119s on Jan 15 (from a bargain posted here) and arrived today. ~2 weeks, not bad. I was initially worried reading all the horror stories on here; maybe I got lucky.

  • I bought the ZMI xiaomi powerbank in November and it still hasn't arrived.

    • -1

Have you contact LITB or the rep?

      • +1

For a second I thought you said LGBT…

        • LGBT power bank

:) do you mind pm me the order number? so i can better check this

    • They're applying 1 set of rules for OnePlus but I don't see them writing articles telling people to boycott Samsung's exploding phones or washing machines/dryers that have a habit of lighting on fire. I don't see them telling people not to buy iPhone's that bend or occasionally explode maiming their owners. All of these companies have been hacked. They've all had massive software compromises or have to run bug bounty programs to encourage people to let them know instead of hacking them. I find the article hugely biased against 1 company while the others are doing the same.

      • Yes that's the point of a hit piece, focused on one company. Thank you for pointing out the obvious bias. I expect people to do their research on other brands when they go make a purchase as well.

Exploding Samsung phones is a thing yes, but what has the white goods line have anything to do with phone manufacturing?

I don't see multiple reports of iphones of the same model bending and exploding like on the scale of samsung batteries.

All forms of digital security are potentially hackable but at least some of them don't report back to China unlike OnePlus.

And you talk like as if running a bug bounty program is a bad thing. Like as if the alternative is to NOT take any preventative action. Companies don't even HAVE to run it. They run it voluntarily because it's a good thing.

        • Plenty of smart phone manufacturers have sent data back to China: OnePlus, Sony, ZTE, Huawei, Xiaomi, and so on. I don't find it particularly unusual for a Chinese manufacturer to be sending data back to a Chinese server. The issues around data going back to China (the clipboard issue), it never left beta. It was reported, picked up and corrected which seems like the beta process worked as intended. At least they do a beta/early release program.

What do washing machines and dryers lighting on fire have to do with exploding phones? Nothing and everything. It speaks to a wider issue in the company around QA.

I never once said running a bug bounty program was a bad thing, your words not mine. My company can ever be presumed to be safe from being hacked.

The whole article is sensationalist crap written to drum up site traffic.

        • @Tardvark:

I don't think you comprehend the gravity of cyber security, personal privacy and Chinese hackers. There's zero reason for a phone to be reporting any personally identifiable data ever as an opt-in default setting or any other unwarranted circumstance.

You're right that's not particularly unusual for a Chinese manufacturer to be reporting your login details, bank acc etc. to the Chinese government, simply because they're required to hand over all their details to them. Exact reason why in order to do business and sell in China, you must comply with their certifications and regulations, which means opening up your factories and designs to the government.
There is no recourse for companies to complain about government intervention. They are not a democracy.

I guess you must be fine with the potential risk for the Chinese government stealing your data. I'm glad our government had blocked the Huawei contract on grounds of national security. Recently America has also dibe the same with their communications hardware.

You mightn't have once explicitly said it was a bad thing, but why mention then in the first place? What are you implying? One can only assume you bringing it up as a counter argument to actively developing security patches before it becomes a zero day.

        • @Blitzfx: You take exception to China requiring companies to open their data the Govt, but you take not exception to the US Govt. having the same requirements? Boggles the mind. We could sit here for months but at the end of the day your only exception is with the Chinese Govt., everyone else can have your personal data from private companies to any foreign Govt. as long as they're not Chinese. Solid position.

        • @Tardvark:
          You're right.
Between NSA's backdoors and Chinese hacker's, I would prefer to use American products. Or even South Korean Samsung. We share much closer values and government than we do with China.

  • I don't see the coupon, maybe I'm blind. All the coupon's I've found say they are invalid coupons link under the deal.

    • +2

There is no Coupon needed for this deal.

  • Hi Rep, do you guys have any sandstone white available?

    • don't have any for now, spring festival is coming, most of supplier and factory will start on vocation from this week, and next week. so recently stocks will less than usual, cost price will rising. :)

  • What's the warranty situation on this?

  • +1

Hands down the best Android phone I have ever owned. I've had Samsung and Xiaomi(mix). The camera is amazing in portrait mode, makes all your photos look professional. It's very fast at opening, running and switching apps as well.

The facial recognition on this phone is amazing too, it outperforms iPhone X, I tested this with a friend's iPhone. Can recognize face in dark dim lighting, upside down, with glasses. Sometimes I feel it may be too sensitive, I catch myself unlocking the phone in different situations to see if it works.

All in all, love the phone, probably best cheaper flagship phone out there at the moment.

    • Yeah speed and software wise it looks good. The only thing wrong with this phone seems to be low light camera performance. Personally I would spend another $200 or so and get a Samsung s8.

  • lg v20 or this?

    • This. Newer, therefore much better specs

  • +1

Got a 128gb Mi Mix 2 from Joybuy (part of JD Chinese wholesale) $575 USD (about $630 AUS) and its a fantastic device: https://m.joybuy.com/600145192.html

    • The mi mix 2s is apparently going to be announced/released at MWC in a months time for anyone thinking about the mix 2. Im holding off to see whats released there.. my mi max is showing its age

      • you mean mi mix 3

        • How? The 2 just came out and what hardware features could they include? The snapdragon 835 is the latest mobile chipset, they could have 8gb ram instead of 6gb and maybe a higher res screen, but I find the current specs are more than fine.

        • +1

no i mean the mi mix 2s.. the mi mix 3 doesnt come out until later

        • +1

@MrSammyMcG: Much like the oneplus 5t was to the one plus 5 (which also only came a few months after the o+5). Its a incremental update, ive seenrumors of a few upgrades but the major one is getting the snapdragon 845 and beating samsung to it. https://www.gsmarena.com/xiaomi_mi_mix_2s_may_be_the_first_s…

        • @garvani: okay thanks

  • +1

I bought one from this deal, have 10 months to replace my S7 edge which has a smashed back and cracked front. Since it will cost a small fortune to fix and getting sluggish I thought why not. If its fast, decent camera, has fast charging and a good screen it should get me through.

  • -1

Yep. This should arrive in around 10 months.

  • No more 128gb model at discounted price?
