Stuck in Taiwan on trip to China

Hello Ozbargain community;

I'm in a bit of a pickle right now and thought it might be a good idea to post here in case someone has any advice I can use.

I'm an Australian citizen visiting China, with a trip to Taiwan in between. I applied for a Chinese visa, and thought all was fine, but right now I'm in the airport after my trip in Taiwan, and I'm notified that my visa has only one entry to China.

Both the Chinese embassy in Australia and the Australian embassy in Taiwan is closed until Monday, and I'm currently stuck in Taiwan.

If anyone has any advice, please comment.

Edit: thank you all for helping my dumb ass with this problem. I've read through the comments and decided to have a separate trip to Hong Kong, as the Chinese embassy in Taiwan… doesnt exist :?

    you're stuck until monday until you can get to the china embassy.

    how long are you going back to china for?

    australians can get a 72-Hour Visa-Free Transit in China

    Fly to Hainan and get a Chinese visa on arrival?

    Not sure if your airfare from Taiwan is already forfeited as you couldn't get through

    Where are you going to in China? My advice…hit up Hong Kong and chill for a bit and get a visa sorted there. We have no idea where you are going to in China. If you have a single entry I don't see why you can't go now. We're you just there?

      Seems like he has already entered china and left to do a short side trip to taiwan. And now can't get back into china as he had already used up his single entry visa.

    I don’t understand….. Your post isn’t very clear what you want to do…

    So you are visiting China, doing a side trip trip to Taiwan then you were going back to China ?

    If you can stay in Taiwan, can’t you get a hotel for 2 nights and sort out your Chinese visa on Monday ?

    Just wait till Monday? No point hit up HK or other cities if you have no reason to go there. When you apply for Chinese Visa isn't the fees for single/multi entry different and clearly signed………..how did you mess up………now you have to pay for another emergency single entry when the embassy opens.

    Get out of the airport and enjoy Taiwan for a couple more days until Monday/Tuesday.

    Explain the situation to the check-in agent and see if they'll let you reschedule your flight for free or a small fee until early next week (instead of paying again!). Allow visa approval time!

    No point stressing yourself out right now if you already know you can't do anything until Monday.

      Taiwan is one of the greatest places in the world for food. It's like a combination of (the good parts) of China + HK + Japan
