Does this have a notification led?

Yes only if you own gloves.

The specs are quite reasonable so using this phone would be as smooth as silk gloves, wouldn't you say?

  • would this be worthy to replace my galaxy s4 (sorry really old school… i know) which has served me well up until 6 months ago.

    • +1

I'm no PhoneNerd but this has a bigger screen with less pixels for starters. Not sure about the rest.
I've still got an S4, they are great for checking Ozbargain and other basic stuff. Love being able to swap the battery out when it's flat.
      What happened 6 months ago?

      • It blew up.

      • thanks! dropped it. corner of screen broke, still works but not really pretty with the sticky tape patch… also no more space for apps and sometimes error for email syncing (also no space. then i have to delete something to get it work again). camera is quite good though. i'd prefer a 5.5 or 6 screen.

It will be a good jump in performance, but I would rather pick RedMi Note 4 or 4X which has a faster processor and better screen than this.

thanks. open to bargain suggestions for budget max $250, with great camera, great 5.5 to 6", great battery life.

      No.
Spend a little more and get the Xiaomi Redmi Note 4 or 4X. Better processor and bigger battery & well within your budget.
Be careful with the phone names… :-( Some have mistakenly bought the Xiaomi Redmi 4X (not the Note version).

Thanks, followed your advice and got the Note 4x from gearbest deal. Arrived today! Looks great but… I just can't set the region to Australia? Any idea why? Some apps won"t work if I set to any other region, right?

        • The one little fault with the note 4x.. I selected singapore and all is fine.

  • Why is it named "Redmi Note 5A" when Xiaomi already has a Redmi Note 2/3/4/5 series?
