  • $97.00 at Officeworks.

    • will officeworks price match 94.05 after 5% discount from ebay pick5?

      • No, coupons aren't allowed

Seems to have the same hardware as their older model.

I have the tab 3 7 bought it from the good guys for about $50 after the digital newsletter credit 18 months or so ago. It performs quite well for browsing and streaming videos but with 8gb you can't install many app although it does have a micro sd slot. The battery life is nothing to write home about but for such a cheap tablet you can't expect too much.

    • How many hours does it last with web browsing?

      • I don't do a lot of web browsing on it mainly watch videos.

        • How many hours does it last for movies?

        • @htc: at a guess 6 I haven't taken much notice.

  • Might be worth getting one for gps duties in car.

    • Screen kinda sucks for sunshine.

  • lol the specs on this pile of crap

  • Same price as old model, VERY small bump in spec but you lose the SD card slot and gain a Android version, 100% not worth it.

    • in the gsm website, says no sd card slot but op mentioned there is an sd card slot in spec?

  • For $99, much better to get the Huawei y5 deal above as a tablet, even though 5" vs 7".

Why would you want a 5" phone instead of a 7" tablet?

      • Read the specs: 2GB RAM, HD IPS display, 4G, usable camera …
far better than this tablet. And the only downside is that you need to hold it slightly closer to appear the same size.

A 7" screen at 40cm looks the same size (viewing arc) as a 5" screen held at 29cm.
Its only an issue if you need reading glasses.

        • So you get 2" more by telling them to look closer?

        • @asa79:
It doesn't come with spec's, and by the time they open the box, they are committed to the purchase.
5 or 7, does the same job. Its the ram that matters.

    • Which shop sells huawei y5 for 99? link please

thanks manic, looks like the huawei phone has a better spec then lenovo tab except the screen size. I will get the huawei one instead.

Thanks, bought the huawei one today, better spec, except smaller screen. And has an option to make phone call.

    That's so 2010…

More then enough for browsing or reading etc

If by "browsing" you mean web, thats one of the few tasks that will exhaust the ram quickly, leading to killed tabs and apps.
Very annoying when filling a form in one tab, switch to another tab or app to get info, switch back and find you've lost all your work.

But for most games, videos, ebooks, 1GB is fine.

    • I don't play games on mine just use it to watch videos and a bit of web browsing and it is fine.

  • Was planning to buy one but checked ozbargain, https://www.ozbargain.com.au/node/314295

    will wait for special.

    • Old model…..but pretty much same unit.

      • I did find the old model to be a bit wider than the new Tab 7 7" as in having a wider bezel on the sides.

  • I'm quite sure that this is the normal price for this tablet computer.

  • Sells at Officeworks for $97 although in store only. Price is beaten. Price match may be possible. Save your $2.

Those price match policies usually specifically exclude coupon discount offer prices.

  • Got one of these recently and the touch screen is not very responsive, to the point it takes a few goes just to unlock the phone :(
