They come with S logic technology

S-Logic® Plus profits directly from innovations developed for our flagship Edition range, the ultimate headphones for critical listening. This sophisticated new technology combines precision dampening with micro-acoustic reinforcement, allowing driver, buffer-board, and spatial parameters to complement one another in an optimal manner. So the acoustically redesigned ear-cups of these new models and their tonal fine-tuning result in a most neutral sound impression with more vivid perception of voices and instruments.

How does S-Logic® Natural Surround Sound work?

S-Logic® sends music around your head not just into it, because this technology uses decentralized driver positioning. Did you know that you use and need the outer ear for your three-dimensional understanding to define the direction and distance where a sound comes from? Instead of hitting the inner ear directly, with S-Logic® the signals are reflected off the surface of the outer ear in different directions before entering the auditory canal to create a natural three-dimensional Sound. S-Logic® is the only headphone system which includes your entire sense of hearing. S-Logic® does not change your personal hearing, it intensifies it for your individual needs and listening pleasure. S-Logic® does neither need artificial echo nor digital sound processing or cross over run time delay. You can hear the sound just the way the sound engineer has mastered it.

S-Logic® does not only create a Natural Surround Sound sensation. S-Logic® allows at the same time a reduction of sound pressure levels at the eardrum by up to 40% (3 - 4 dB). This may reduce the risk of hearing damage while ensuring hours of fatigue-free listening.

  • Reviews look good. Any chance someone here has compared them to the Beyer Dynamic DT770's?

    • For sure DT770 pros will be better. In terms of portability and ease of usage these are good.

      • Cheers, might give them a miss then, I already have a pair of BOSE for portables. :)

        • +3

          BOSE!!!!

We are talking about audio brands here. This is Ultrasone. You tried comparing Beyerdynamic with Ultrasone which is fine. Bringing Bose into the discussion !!!!!

        • +1

@genuinedude: LOL…BOSE & other headphone company "coughing" beats, is a taboo subject amongst audiophiles. Since I am into audio, i totally understand this comment.

        • +1

@genuinedude: lols, yeah but I got the noise cancelling ones for when I'm out and about. I use the DT770's when I'm at home. As for 'audiophile', my persistent tinnitus makes anything too flash kinda redundant. :)

Wondering how they’ll stack up against my V-moda M100’s?

Bought a pair anyway- it’s the OZB way…!!

    • +1

As per reviews I read they should sound a lot better than VModa

      • Cool, couldn't find a direct comparison.. cheers..

    Thanks OP. Good find

  • OP you seem to know a bit about audio. This is cheaper than a lot of headphones.
How would it compare against hd8, momentum 2.0 and pxc480 and ath-msr7?

    Thanks

    • Few reviewers compared and mentioned its way better than Audio Technica MSR7. Not sure about HD8. It should definetely be better than PXC 480 which I believe is more a lifestyle product of Sennheiser targeted against Bose QC25. Same with Momentum 2.0

I am speaking about sound quality here. All the ones you mentioned might have better build quality than this.

      • So the SQ is better than the above mentioned? That's impressive. Build quality eh.. it's just gonna stay at my desktop. Thanks for the help.

One more, in the under$300 range what would you pick (that's available in Australia)

        • There are so many headphones and I may not have tested even a minuscule of them. I will instead list my favorites among the ones I tried and tested under $300.

          Over-ear or On-Ear:

          AKG Y50 or AKG Y50BT
          Audio Technica ATHM50X
Sony MDR100ABN (excellent value for money at the price it's available now just $218 at addicted to audio)
          Sennheiser PXC550
          Sennheiser HD4.5BT
          Sennheiser Momentum Over Ear
