edit - that's just the drill driver, not the hammer drill. still a good price if you only need the driver function

      • Yeah I believe so, though the models are a bit hard to decipher.

Do you have a model for the Bunnings one?

https://sydneytools.com.au/makita-hp331dz-12v-max-li-ion-cxt… <- Same as bunnings, same price.

same on as your link (check the details section in the Bunnings website)

Bunnings is probably price matching Sydney Tools to avoid price beating

        • @steff: Yep, suspect so. Hopefully Sydney Tools keep it at this price now. Good find btw, sorry again for jumping in with that first comment, going to + your deal now :)

        • @MorriJ: all good. I'll update the post with Sydney tools as well.

      • Yep, just realised that as well and sorry for jumping in with first comment, I was browsing Sydney Tools today and thought it was the same.

Sydney Tools have the same model for $99 skin only, suspect its the new "price" :).

  • I find 12V drills are lacking in power too much.

I bought an AEG 12V drill and impact driver kit but find I go back to my 18v drill all the time.

Drill is fine for light duty stuff but not much more.

12V impact driver is great though.

    • I've got a hitachi 10.8v drill/driver kit that I have done so much work with. I have other 18V and 36V drills to choose from but I find myself using those little 10.8V drills so much!

      • Yeah. The lighter weight and smaller footprint do make them very handy.

I guess I was expecting too much of the 12v drill for heavier stuff.

Great for stuff around the house though.

    • Possibly. Also matching Sydney tools I think

  • You can get this for about $55 delivered from the UK, although they have the wrong picture up for it. http://www.tools4trade.co.uk/makita-hp331dz-10-8v-cxt-combi-…

The brushless model of this is about $95 delivered.
    http://www.tools4trade.co.uk/makita-hp332dz-10-8v-cxt-brushl…

In fact, most of their makitas are significantly cheaper providing you're happy to deal with an overseas provider for warranty issues etc..

    • these are both 10.8v NOT 12V

      • Its the same thing, just marketed differently dependent on the country.

        • What about the Aldi one i shared above? Is that any better?

        • yea same product code, well spotted

        • +1

          @sidozziee:

There's next to no info on the aldi drill, I know its very easy to return aldi products if something is faulty but in terms of quality… aldi wouldn't come close to Makita

    • Just noticed that the price I quoted was including VAT. Its about $45 delivered without.

      • how to remove VAT when ordering?
I've purchased and paid through the Paypal, but they were charging me VAT included.

  • is this a good brand? My friend told me to get AEG as that what he uses and he happy with it.

    • Absolutely nothing wrong with makita.
It’s one of the bigger we’ll known brands

    • Both are good brands. If its just around the house occasional stuff pick whichever is cheapest

  • much difference between brush and brushless?
