Notes:
Evidently, sometimes the code doesn't work if you already have XBox Gold. ie - you need to allow your membership to expire before redeeming. I'm not sure about this as I didn't have Gold when I applied the code.

Mod Warning: Some users are having issues redeeming in Australia see comments below, buy at your own risk.

sometimes the code doesn't work if you already have XBox Gold

    That seems dodgy …

    • yep, you can stack subscriptions , i be had 2 years stacked with no issues.

  • Bought a code and unable to redeem it in Australia for some reason, be warned

    • Sorry to hear that! But just contact them for a refund or new code (The website says they're region free.)

    • Had the same thing with another supplier recently, entering the code via microsoft.com/redeem did work. Maybe worth a try?

Purchased from the other day, had to get a refund as they're Brazil codes and cannot be redeemed in Aus. They've refunded me, but I had a look just before and it looks like they double charged me anyway, so I'll probably have to chase that up too. I even contacted Xbox/MS support (who were really good btw), to try get them to apply it, the first guy I spoke to was unable to revoke the code to try issue a new one, I was told by 2 separate support staff I'll need to get a refund. I would avoid.

  • Paid 8:12 this morning, no key by 8:27, logged a ticket, still no response.

Mere seconds after posting this, the key arrived and I was able to redeem it through the link provided in the email without a problem.

  • Bought one this morning, does not work for my australian account. Awaiting response to my email for refund/replacement.

    • Did you try the link from the email? I was dubious but it worked for me (Aussie account).

      https://account.xbox.com/en-US/PaymentAndBilling/RedeemCode?…

      • Yeah, just gave me an error message

        • in the same boat here. paid, received an email with the code about 1.5 hours later. no dice as the M$ site said "not valid for this region". Logged a ticket, and got no response… still waiting…

        • @FullM3tal:
Tried this last month - Error code Xbos-0x80182300 Brazil region locked code, cannot be redeemed.
Logged a support ticket, 3 emails suggesting unsuccessful workarounds, and eventual refund.
          Buyer Beware.

        • @00MCS00:I wish I knew this beforehand, as it seems others have been successful with their purchase…

        • @FullM3tal: Not sure what to make of this. My membership is up in March and I'm due for renewal. Tried to apply the code after purchasing last night and also had issues. Errors about region or just generic errors in general.

Gave up and logged a support call via email. Over email they did get back to me, would have been between 4 - 7AM our time (so don't be too disheartened if they didnt get back today). In the mean time I purchased another code off a buy and sell here and applied that just fine. Tried this code two more times half an hour ago and got errors so emailed back the site to say their suggested fixes were no good.

Shortly after I got a confirmation email that the 12 month sub had applied and my end dates now Aug 2020. Not only did this code appear to go through after I applied the one from the buy and sell, it appears it actually gave me closer to 18 months worth (I should be expiring March 2020 after applying 2 codes). Each time I tried to apply the code from here it was offering me a bonus month if I selected to go on auto renew. All I can gather at this point is even though it was failing for some reason it's tallied up those bonus month of renewals. Six attempts seems about right.

Anyway, now the code says redeemed so it does appear to have gone through. No idea why it was so patchy and whether adding 12 months via another AU code helped in that process. Perhaps there is something stupid where being around a month out from renewal impacts applying these codes.

At a loss really but glad I don't have to chase up a refund.

    • I'm thinking GamesDeal should be renamed GamesDodgey - apologies to those who are having grief!

  • For those who are interested, my code went through this morning.
Just a bit of a Faff.

    • Try anything different? I still get the same error: You currently have a subscription from a different region. If it still doesn't work, please contact customer support.

      • Still same this here. The two links they sent me you can see are a link to redeem at the US Microsoft site, and the other the Australian site.

Neither links work, which means I’m outta luck cause today my XBL has officially expired.

  • I sent them an email and they sent me a link, which seemed to work

  • sorry to those affected, but FYI - mine went through no issues.

  • Worked well for me got the code within ten minutes. Redeemed straight away on xbox.com on PC. Only concern got two invoices for the one transaction will check the card in a couple of days and will let you know if it was a problem.

  • Thanks. Saved me $24 on 12 months subscriptions.

  • worked for me from pc + 1 bonus month for auto renew which I will turn off later
