    for 1 second I thought WD HDD with a capacity of 325GB is selling for $5, (at bunnings????)

    Please don't use this as a general purpose lubricant. It breaks down greases and can end up wrecking rather than fixing moving parts such as bearings.

    It is a water displacement spray made up of solvents which are what lubricates for a short time but they degrade quickly leaving you with a crappy hinge or whatever.

    The wd40 specialist silicone can is a different story.

    TL;DR - careful what you use this for.

    • what's the point of this stuff. If you have a squeaky hinge get some cooking oil & rub it on the hinge problem solved

    • WD40 is great for removing some sticky residues and for polishing stainless steel.
