  • Ordered 3/12/10
    Received 20/12/10
    Reside in Adelaide
Condition very good, the security seal was broken but all is good.

  • Ordered 05/12
    Received 13/12
    Given Date 22/12
    Sydney
Condition good, the security seal was broken & few scratches on outer box.
left outside my door, luckily missus was home and picked up

  • Ordered 03/12
Given Date 16/12 (cant quite remember)
Reside in Sydney, and still waiting on delivery unfortunately.

    • Given Date 20/12 (Just checked the email confirmation)

  • Ordered: 4 Dec
    Dispatched: 5 Dec
    Received: 22 Dec
    Central QLD

Everything with mine is great - box and item like brand new. Just plugged it in to test and all works (heats up fast!!)

  • I still havent received mine.. I wonder if they meant 22nd dec uk time or aus time. They have till the end of today anyway max. Has anyone written a conplaint to asos yet and found out whats going on?

From the information above, I've worked out delivery wasnt affected by state. I thought the aussie floods may've delayed it. I guess not.

To be honest, I'm a little worried about the condition it'll arrive in after some of the comments i've read.

  • Still haven't received mine either, starting to think I have to make alternate arrangements for the missus xmas gift (which sucks!)

Just sent them an email expressing my situation and utter disappointment and will go from there I guess.

    boohoo to ASOS

  • I also sent an email asking where in the world it is.. I dont even know if its left the uk yet. So i've tried my luck and asked if it hasn't left the uk if they can get ghd australia to express post one for xmas.. I highly doubt it, but you dont know unless you ask :-P
When did their extreme weather conditions start? Can they really use that as an excuse for early december orders?

  • The weather conditions would've occurred at a subsequent time than to when our orders were placed/dispatched. I ordered something else from ASOS which was dispatched on the same day as the GHD and received it about 1.5 weeks ago, however still not sign of the GHD. I received some b.s email response stating weather conditions could have affected the delivery of the order but I'm refusing to accept such nonsense as that would obviously imply they did not send the item on the date they indicated. This is getting ridiculous.

    Any update on your situation?

    • I wonder why they didnt just send your stuff in one package together. Its really annoying me.. I feel like I cant leave the house incase I miss it. I got exactly the same automated response.. So I replied to the email so now im waiting for a real person to respond within 24hrs. I'll keep you updated.. Please do the same :-)

      • I also replied, and probably got the same response as you, yet again lol

I've pretty much lost all hope on receiving the item before xmas, that is, if I actually end up receiving it at all.

  • Ordered 3/12/10
    Shipped 5/12/10
    Received 23/12/10
    Adelaide
Not sure what the security seal is, but the package was intact. The box it came in was a little torn but otherwise not too bad. Didn't the the DVD that they promised tho. Anyone got the DVD?

I wasn't home to receive the package so the postman left a card for me to collect it from the post office

  • I ordered one the second time they went on sale, haven't received it yet obviously….now I am worried about the condition I will receive it in too, after reading about other's experiences this time and previous experiences from people claiming they received fakes from Asos. I have ordered other items from them before fine and they may be an "authorized dealer" but I personally would definitely not accept a GHD that had a broken security seal on the box. I'm starting to regret ordering….I'd love more details on condition others arrived in and people who have successfully registered theirs online….Those that have received theirs…do you think they are indeed genuine?

    • So I still havent received it.. I also still havent had a reply to my asos email.. So I dont know whats going on. I am also starting to regret this buy. Gah! The frustration!

I would also like to know if the people who have received their ghds are registering on the ghd website??

      • the only good thing is there are a lot of us here who bought these, and if we all end up with fakes or damaged stock then at least we have others to back us up with raising a dispute. If one customer has an issue its easy to dismiss as a one off, but if ten customers all have the same issue its easier for us to get our money back. And im sure ghd would love to know about an approved retailer who is selling less than satisfactory stock if that is the case.

  • Got a reply from ASOS:

"Thank you for your email and I am sorry to hear that you are waiting for your order to arrive.

I can see that your order was placed on the 06/12/10 and we advise that orders usually take up to 10 working days to be delivered, so your parcel should have arrived by 20/12/10.

To allow for any postal delays, we do ask that you allow an extra 10 working days for your delivery on top of the above timescale. In the unlikely event your order is not delivered by 06/01/11 please let us know as we can then look into this and find the best resolution for you.

It might also be useful to know that this parcel is due to be delivered by your domestic postal service and a tracking number is not available for this package.

Thanks for being so patient, and please let me know if there’s anything else I can help you with.

    All the best,

    Gail"

Now im definitely not getting it for christmas.. Quite possibly the new year! Seriously, what is a reasonable resolution for an extra late christmas present as it is a gift?? Grrrr

  • Just picked mine up from the post office today. Perfect timing.

Like everyone else, the seal is broken. However the box is intact, no scratches and no marks. I've inspected the packaging on the inside and they look new. The cable ties on the cords have not been removed.

And what is this DVD some of you have been talking about? Are you supposed to get a DVD with the unit? From the product page, it doesn't look like a DVD is included. Or do all GHDs come with a DVD?

  • +2

kimba88: That's the same response I received, except the dates were a day earlier. Sadly, still no sign of mine, and I feel for the others who are on the same boat. Not happy at all, but then again, there's not much that can be done about it besides waiting.

Pauly: When ASOS initially had the GHD sale at the beginning of the month, they listed a 'DVD' as part of the GHD package in the product listing, clearly they've removed that, and probably were never able to fulfil that part of the listing anyway.

On a brighter note, Merry xmas to everyone!

  • Im spewing HQHair have it for $104 delivered now.. I'd probably receive it before I get the one from ASOS. I hope they can do something to resolve this quickly.

    Merry Christmas everybody!

  • I received my GHD today! (finally)
    Ordered: 6/12/10
    Dispatched: 6/12/10
Given date: 22/12/10 (even though they told me 20/12/10 in a seperate email)
    Received: 29/12/10
    Live in: Sydney
Condition: No security seal or dvd. The box had slight scuff marks around the edges.. and the inside black felt bit had white marks on it as if it had been in the sun. It wasnt too bad condition overall. The actual straightener works fine with a Korjo adapter from Strandbags ($11.50)

    • Good to hear you've finally received it! Hopefully I won't have to wait much longer then! :s

      • Lets hope not! fingers crossed

  • I bought two of them from asos
one on 3 dec. expected delivery was on or before 21st. still havent arrived.
I ordered another one on 13. expected delivery was on or before 7th jan.
it arrived today. but the seal was broken. the packaging wasnt new. it doesnot come with thermo protector which was with it on asos site. i never used ghd so no idea about fake and real one. so cant comment on authenticity of ghd. but its does not look new from its packaging. they advertise on their site as new ghd so they should provide new to customers not resealed refurbished item.
i have mailed them twice about both orders but got an automated response:(

  • where exactly is the seal meant to be?? on the box or on the actual ghd?? cos i had no evidence of a seal at all..
if you ordered the ghds which were 76.5 pounds then the ghd doesnt come with the thermo protector spray(if thats what you're talking about)

    • where exactly is the seal meant to be?? on the box or on the actual ghd?? cos i had no evidence of a seal at all..

It would be on the bottom left corner of the box.

See this image I just took from my phone. Apologies for the quality.

    • I ordered the one that said it came with a free thermo protector spray too…if it doesn't I am going to be annoyed…in fact I am almost sure I am going to return this item for a refund and I haven't even received it yet! But from other's experiences it seems this was not such a good deal after all.

    • i ordered one with free thermo protector spray. which was 99 pounds but i had a 20%off code so it was around 79 pounds for me.
      the seal is around here

      http://img80.imageshack.us/img80/859/img0565ri.jpg

      • Thats the exact one I ordered……oh dear….have you tried registering it?

        • im not registering it yet in case i have to return it.
i already mailed them if they want me to return it they have to pay for the postage too from au to uk.
still no reply though except for the automated ones

  • oh wow! i didnt have any seal at all.. not even a sticky reminence. That picture was taken of the actual box it was in yeah? and not the actual sleeve that was over the box. Thanks for the pic :-)

    • The left part of the sticker is on the outer sleeve, the bottom part was on the actual box itself. It came broken just like the picture.

      • Ok, its official.. mine didnt come with a seal at all :-( no sticky reminence on either sleeve or box.

        • Which model did you order? Maybe they differ from model to model? The one I ordered was the salon styler. Or maybe they started removing the security seals after getting complaints from customers regarding the broken seals.

For me, I guess the broken seal wouldn't matter much as long as the serial # registers on their website. Have to confirm with the missus if she did this already.

  • I ordered the IV styler. I havent tried registering it yet.. not sure if i should incase ASOS ask for it

    • Would be great if you could try registering it and let us know how you go. Just keep in mind even fake codes sometimes seem to go through on the website but the confirmation email is the thing you are wanting to guarantee it is genuine.

      • Im just a little bit weary of registering it at the moment. I dont really want to send it back.. but im just annoyed that it had no seal at all.. i dont even know if this was a returned product or not

  • Oh just a question as well.. when you first open the ghd box, was the instruction manual on top of the actual ghd or underneath the felt in the bottom of the box where the cord is?

  • I'm wondering if it would be less hassle for me to reject the package at the door if I am home when it arrives…..lol

    • lol.. you've already paid for it. i guess if the actual ghd works its not that bad.. im just being a little pedantic about the packaging because of the price

  • -1

The thing is GHD's are highly renowned for being counterfeited….and the worst part is that the fakes are very good fakes…..AFAIK approved stockists do not accept returns on GHDs when the seals are broken because of the high risk someone could have swapped out the real GHDs for fakes. Considering ASOS do accept returns and even sell GHDs with broken security seals I do not have much faith in them as the genuine product. Unless my pair comes in a brand new box with an unbroken security seal I won't even be plugging them in before I send them back and ask for a refund, its just not worth the risk. They may work at first but that doesn't mean they are the real deal and the fakes are known for catching fire, causing burns etc because they are made from poor materials/not to safety standards.

    • ok.. now you've worried me. lol. if you paid through paypal you should be covered right?? i might give ghd australia a call tomorrow and see if they can tell me straight up if the ghd is genuine or not.. rather than wait around for an email. plus im still waiting for ASOS to get back to me. I'd like to see what they have to say (hopefully a human being gets back to me)

      • I paid by paypal also. If GHD Australia were able to somehow confirm it was a fake and you raised a paypal claim rather than dealing directly with ASOS it would make things interesting because usually you would have to return the item to the seller. However AFAIK it is actually illegal to post a counterfeit item, but Australia post can probably confirm that.

Just rang GHD Australia and its a GENUINE product! Apparently the ghd's dont come with dvd's anymore to save on packaging, so they have all the info online. In regards to seals, they said most wont come with a seal so they can check it before they send it or something along the lines of that. I asked if the GHD was meant to have plastic wrapping on it, especially on the plates to be peeled off, but nope.. it sounds like the way it came, is the way its meant to be! Sweet! Now im just waiting for a reply from ASOS to explain themselves on the delayed christmas present and the slight damage to the box/felt. Other than that, its all good!

    Hope that relieves some people!!

If there are problems, just keep your online receipt and you have 2years warranty. GHD Australia will deal with any problems.. they said DO NOT contact the UK to get your faulty GHD fixed. GHD Australia will either fix it or replace it with a brand new Australian version.

  • asos asked me to return the ghd
    so they can inspect it.

    • oh wow.. you'll be waiting a while to get one back then :-( Let them know you want them to express ship another one with the thermo spray and you'll send the other back because its such a hassle and you didnt even receive it before christmas..

  • and i just got my response from ASOS..

    "Thank you for your email.

I'm very sorry to hear your GHD product is faulty

With the information you have provided, we kindly request that you return this item to us so we can inspect it further.

Please use the sticky address label from the front of your returns note when you send the item back to us. If you haven't got this anymore, you can print a new one off by clicking here. Please accept my apologies for any inconvenience caused and if I can assist with anything else please contact me again.

    All the best,

    ASOS Customer Care"

Grrr i never said my product was faulty at all.. i wish a real person would reply and not a computer named 'Gail' or 'Luke'. How stupid is this.. seriously.. i dont want to send my ghd back.. it seems fine at the moment.. it was just having no seal that worried me and not having a dvd, etc.

    • i got the same mail word by word regarding my queries about my thermo spray. me too never said that ghd is faulty but i dont think they even read it.
i hv mailed them again and again i got an automated response :(

      • the joys of automated responses :-(

Just been to the post office to pick up my GHD ordered in December from ASOS. It is a fake - manufactured in China. No seal on box, no wrapper on box and the package it was posted in had to be repacked by AustPost. A cheap chinese knockoff.

Most fakes have been manufactured in China. Ghd do not manufacture or retail any products from china. They are made in Korea.

Check to see where yours was made and see if you are still happy to keep it. If you are happy with a fake they can be bought for about $50.

Let me know if your ASOS GHD was made in China. I am prepared to ring them to resolve this.

    • Mine is manufactured in China but i rang GHD Australia today and they confirmed mine was Genuine. Mine also had no seal and wrapper but GHD Australia said this was completely normal.

Call GHD Australia first and find out if yours really is a fake before abusing ASOS. Have you got a link proving they should only be manufactured in Korea?

      • Sorry, You are correct, genuine GHD DOES get made in China. I found the "only made in Korea" on the net in an article about how to spot fake GHD..

I found this info on the GHD website re date code and hologram and "made in China" is clearly there on the GHD example http://www.ghdhair.com/app/product-registration/product_code…

I have two holograms with different numbers. I have read that one if for the cord - the other for the styler. Whey is there a second (different serial number) hologram on the styler? Which one did you use to register? I see that GHD says to use the one on the cord.

        • Thank god! you were beginning to worry me there. lol.

I didnt register it online.. i just called ghd australia and asked over the phone. I told them the serial number on the cord in the hologram. They confirmed that was a genuine ghd. I have no idea what the other hologram is for. I asked ghd australia if i needed to go and enter my details elsewhere so im registered for warranty but they said registering details is merely for marketing purposes to you. So only if you have troubles with the ghd, contact ghd australia and they will help you out.

  • I registered mine on the website, and decided to give GHD a call 'just to be sure'. They told me that if the GHD received is a counterfeit, it wouldn't allow us to register. I also asked them about the security seal(or the lack of) they pretty much told me what they told Kimba88(and also mentioned that someone asked the same question earlier today! lol)

Thanks Kimba! alot more relieved now!

    • Lol did you decide to call them today?? i wonder if i was that person ;-) hahaha

  • Like everyone else, got the exact same response from ASOS, word for word. Companies should be discouraged from using generic templates on all replies and need to understand that situations vary from customer to customer.

First reply was pretty quick (less than 20 minutes), but when I replied back stating the item is not faulty but want a guarantee they'll send a sealed replacement if I post it back, I still have yet to hear back from them since morning.

Also got an email reply from GHD Australia about the missing CD + instructional manual. This is their response:

ghd stylers no longer come with an instructional booklet or DVD as all this information and more can now be found on the website.

Overall, I'm quite confident it is genuine despite the broken security label. As long as the missus is happy, I'll probably let it slide.

  • Anyone still waiting for their GHD?

    Ordered: 3/12/10
    Dispatched: 3/12/10
    Given date: 20/12/10
    Live in: Sydney

I emailed them and they said wait until 3/1/11….

    • Unfortunately, I am :(

  • And im still waiting for a proper reply from ASOS.. i thought they were meant to get back to you within 24hrs?? i guess i'll have to copy and paste everything i wrote again to them. Gah!

Has anyone had a individual reply to them yet and not a template response?

  • I finally got a response from asos.. It still sounds templated though. This time they apologised and offered a 10% off discount code that expires on the 20/1/11. I probably will not be using this since their delivery times are so shocking anyway. Gah!

  • Heres another email.. So now my ghd could have been a faulty or returned one.. Niiiice :-/ At least im now getting half non templated replies.. Still not happy though. I really dont want to send it back to only receive it in march.. Gah! I asked about seals and the dvd in earlier emails, so now I finally get an individualised reply. So basically, what I get from this email is: anyone who had a broken seal or no seal at all should return their ghd incase it was a returned or faulty ghd..wtf..?

    "Thank you for your email.

I'm very sorry to hear your unhappy with the condition of the box, the late delivery and more importantly that your GHD didn't come with the factory seal when you received it. I have read all your previous emails and I understand you don't want to return the item to wait for a replacement however if you don't return the GHD you are accepting it as is, it may have been a returned item or faulty and if you decide to keep it, your warranty will be void and you will be responsible for the GHD if anything goes wrong with it.

I would strongly advise you to return it for a replacement as previously advised so we can inspect it further.

Please use the sticky address label from the front of your returns note when you send the item back to us.  If you haven't got this anymore, you can print a new one off by clicking here.  When you have sent it complete the attached form and fax it along with the postage receipt to +44 1442 835 850. Fill in the section on the back of your delivery note to say the item is faulty, and then put the note in your parcel when you send it back. Please return the parcel back to us within 28 days. We will then refund your postage charges.

I have also checked the website and can confirm it doesn't come with a DVD and it isn't advertised with one.

Once your parcel has arrived and we have inspected the item we will contact you as soon as possible to advise further.

Please accept my apologies for any inconvenience caused and if I can assist with anything else please contact me again.

    All the best"

    • "if you don’t return the GHD you are accepting it as is, it may have been a returned item or faulty and if you decide to keep it, your warranty will be void and you will be responsible for the GHD if anything goes wrong with it."

What does that mean. they just wont take any responsibility for it.
its not customer fault if asos has send a returned item or faulty one

  • Ordered 03/12/2010
    Given Date 20/12/2010
    Received 04/01/2011

Finally received it, however, well after Christmas! Like all other people, box had broken security seal but it seemed like there was another label underneath semi torn off and the new bigger GHD label was used just to cover it up.
    See: http://i51.tinypic.com/15nt6j8.jpg

Not particularly happy about that. The outer box condition wasn't too bad however the inside box was torn on one corner. On the bright side, device does look new and seems to work fine.

    • Wow! Finally! That seal looks nasty, especially because it has another underneath. I dont know whether I should be glad or not that mine didnt come with a seal at all?

      • I guess at the end of the day, it boils down to the condition of the actual GHD, was yours new looking? As much as the packaging wasn't what was to be expected, I can't bear the idea of sending it back to ASOS and waiting until next Christmas for a replacement, if even that!

        • It was new looking, but even the inside felt was discoloured. It just annoys me that you pay so much money for something and you cant even have it looking brand new when you receive it.

  • You know when you get a non templated response from ASOS when:

    "Thank you for your email.
Your warrant will not be void due to the fact that the box was damaged and the seal was no intact.I have placed notes on your account to state that you may be keeping these GHD.
If there is anything else I can assist with please let me know.
    All the best,

    Trudy"

    Lots of typos.

Im still questioning whether mine should have had a seal or not. I have asked ASOS about seals and why do the ones that have been received have a broken seal. To be honest, for a product so expensive, the box should arrive on time in immaculate condition, with everything it was stated as having when ordering and of course seals that are not broken. Im still asking ASOS for answers. I should probably leave it, but i just dont understand how they could 'possibly' mix up faulty/returned ghds for brand new ones. How annoying.

    • At least you got a reply. I still haven't got a reply on my query regarding a guaranteed a sealed replacement if I return it back. That was since 30/12. I suspect they're cherry picking at simple emails to reply to.

Either way, the missus is happy to keep it.

      • I think i emailed them on the 30/12 as well.. but i never received a reply.. so i just copied and pasted it again in an email to them and they replied. Try again =)

  • Ordered 3/12/10
    Received 4/1/11 - Today
    Reside in Country NSW

Condition very good, my security seal was NOT broken.

Outer box was a little banged up and I was slightly worried that it may of damaged the inside box but no dramas at all.

Was good timing actually as I had only just emailed ASOS last night asking where it was.

    Cheers.

  • Should note that I registered the straightener online with ghdhair.com and all is fine regarding the product being authentic.

  • +1

Ordered 15/12, GHD Ltd Ed IV styler with free thermo protector (150ml). It was part of AS0S daily deals 20% of GHDs. Paid 79.20 pounds.
    Dispatched 16/12
    Expected delivery by 7/01
    Received 4/01 - today.
    Reside - Sydney

Condition of ASOS packaging good except for slight tear in box. Inside package, GHD box was in a plastic bag with thermo spray like in this image - http://i53.tinypic.com/i1mgkk.jpg.
Not sure if it's meant to have any other wrapping (either on ghd or on box) as mentioned by Kimba88 and Scozbargain. Also says made in China on inside of iron.

I've registered it, and it went thru fine even got the email confirmation. But will call GHD australia to be on safe side. Concerned re lack of security seal though, seems dubious.

    • After all that I was a lucky one.
Ordered 15/12, GHD Ltd Ed IV styler with free thermo protector (150ml) as above.
      Received in Adelaide today 5/1
Condition of outside packaging was fine, inside package GHD box also in perfect new condition and was in a sealed bag with the thermo spray just like above. No sign of a security seal ever being on the actual box but you could see inside the box it was all brand new.
Registered it online and got the confirmation email so I am happy! Not too worried about the lack of security seal after GHD Australia explained that to kimba88 on the phone. Yay!

      • Glad to hear some of us got perfectly good stock.

Thinking about it again, it could be that the seal was broken in transit. The unit I got came in a much bigger box with no form or bubble wrap. Because the GHD sleeve only had the security seal on one end, it can easily slide off on the open end, hence breaking the seal if the box gets thrown around quite a bit.

        • It's a plausible theory, but I don't think that was the case at all with my box!

        • True, the top security seal on yours couldn't have mysteriously produced a baby seal below it. Looking closer at the picture you posted again, the seal on the unit I got looks like the smaller seal on your box. So I think the seal below is the original seal.

Now it makes me wonder if most of the GHDs ASOS delivered were refurbished stocks. Either that or it could be shelf stock in their store that no one bought up due to physical defects on the box. Maybe that's why we got them cheap. Just like in our retail chains (e.g. Myers/Target/Kmart), they normally have clearance bins with massive discounts, but the packaging have been destroyed/opened.

Thanks, you've just taken away the peace I had with this issue. :P In all seriousness, I think I'll just put the issue to rest. Since everyone here have confirmed they have no problems registering the product, we're pretty much covered by the full warranty. If it breaks, the misus will get an Australian stock replacement anyway.

      • Im still a little sceptical about the whole no seal thing.. only because alot of people had a seal.. so maybe GHD UK do things differently. Im not sure.

  • Mini Straightener
Was meant to arrive on the 20th December to my work Address. Came today, yesterday or earliar, not to sure, I'm still on holidays but picked it up.

Good condition, seal was broken, registered fine on ghd.com

  • Curious. If those who bought one knew it might be a returned or faulty one then would you still have bought it at this price?

    • I wouldn't get it if there's a chance they're faulty or returned stock. However if they did advise the seal was broken, but the item is brand new, then I would.

      • I think im much the same as pauly here. Because i had no seal at all, im really unsure on whether it has been returned before. Im sure its all fine though.. but i must also add.. i thought a ghd would be able to straighten my hair in like 5-10mins flat.. i have medium length thin hair and i still take almost the same amount of time to straighten it as i did with other straighteners. Although it is alot straighter, i do think for the price it is a little overrated. $125 isnt too bad, compared to $250-$300 in Aus. At least the plates are alot smoother and dont pull my hair. I think i was expecting miracles with all the hype.. dont get me wrong, its not a bad straightener, but i did sort of think it might be slightly better.

        • I'm a bit the opposite. I was sceptical before I used it, thinking how much better could it possibly be? But I was pleasantly surprised, I have quite long, frizzy hair but I usually only spend around 20 minutes straightening it which does an average job, making my unruly hair look like regular unstraightened hair lol. But the same amount of time with the GHD results in much straighter smoother looking hair with minimal effort. I'm impressed.

  • ASOS dont seem to be replying to my emails or answering questions. Is anyone else having the same problem? I've had to copy and paste my messages a couple of times and still no reply..

  • Well I never got my GHD, so I emailed ASOS and they said the following:

"Thank you for your email, and I’m sorry to hear you’ve not received your order.

I have checked and can confirm that unfortunately the parcel has been lost with our carrier and cannot locate your parcel, I have processed a replacement for your order which will be with you on or before 12/01/11. The following items have been replaced:

ghd IV Styler - Black / One Size
I hope this helps, but please get back in touch if you have any further questions.
    All the best,

    Lauren B"

They also sent me a tracking number so I can actually follow it this time (I think it is by express post.)

  • Got my reply with a couple of questions still not answered. Ah well.

    "Thank you for your email.
I am sorry that you feel that your questions have not been answered in our previous emails to you.
I can confirm that in relation to the security tag, GHD have advised that stock is no longer sold with security tags. I can confirm that the GHD's that we have sent to you are not a returned item and are new.
We have looked at the GHD's that you purchased on our website and cannot see a DVD advertised, so are unsure as to what DVD you are referring to. I am very sorry that we will be unable to supply this DVD for you.
Unfortunately GHD Australia sending you another set of GHD's will not be possible. If you believe that the GHD's are faulty, we would need to receive the GHD's back into our warehouse so we could inspect them.
I understand that this may not be the response that you were hoping for, but if I can assist with anything else please do not hesitate to contact me.

    All the best,

    Gail"

So what i get from this is:
    - People who did not receive a security seal on their GHD have a newer one from the factory?
    - They are ALL apparently new now and NOT faulty/returned items like previously stated by one particular ASOS customer care member.
    - They will never be able to supply the dvd they advertised with the ghd, as they have deleted it off their website and have no clue what you're talking about.
    - You cannot have GHD Australia post a ghd to you if you havent received yours or are unhappy with the packaging/condition your ASOS ghd arrived in. (i doubted this would be possible anyway, but there is no harm in asking).
    - ASOS say to send the ghd back to them if you think it is faulty. BUT, ring ghd australia first and they have said before they will look after us Australian customers who purchased from ASOS. So if you do have a faulty ghd, GHD Australia will either fix your one or supply you with a brand new Australian version.

    • ring ghd australia first and they have said before they will look after us Australian customers who purchased from ASOS.

Props to GHD Australia! We need more businesses like that in Australia :)

People who did not receive a security seal on their GHD have a newer one from the factory?

I guess the only way to confirm is by emailing GHD and ask them if newer GHDs come with a factory security seal.

They will never be able to supply the dvd they advertised with the ghd, as they have deleted it off their website and have no clue what you’re talking about.

Perhaps ASOS only realized this after they got the newer stocks in. Since no one got the DVD or printed manual, and the fact that GHD Australia has confirmed newer stocks don't come with DVD/Manual, I think it is safe to assume that they were never intended to be included.

      • Yeah ghd australia have done well to answer questions. I just hope they dont back out of helping us if we actually do have a problem.

I meant that ghd's without seals may be newer based on what ASOS have said.

  • I'm still waiting for mine unfortunately.

    ordered around early December.

Starting to think it wasn't such a great deal after all.
Should i email them or remain patient?

    • Definitely email. Look at mouseball's comment about 4 comments above. They are getting another expressed shipped to them because they didnt receive it.

  • Thanks, will chase them up.

Feeling a little misled by all those raving about how reputable ASOS in the original deal post,
or maybe this is just a once off with GHD products.

    humppph

    • after 2 emails i got:

"Customer Care Team is currently investigating your query"
      and
"We endeavour to get back to you within 24 hours"

      Reply was fairly quick.
      Fingers crossed.

PS, it would have only taken one email if i mentioned expected delivery date has elasped over 5 days (over 2wks in this case) to get them to investigate.

      • Hate to break it to ya.. I think that is ASOS' automated template reply. Everytime I email them I get that response first before an individualised response.

        • .

        • Yes, well i dunno,
it was supposed to be for my niece but she's been naughty, thus, no presssie for her this year so the lateness doesn't bother me much. I'm a guy and my hair is never longer than 2inches :p
I may hold onto it for her birthday LOL.

Anyhow, i really couldn't be bothered chasing delivery refund or reimbursement.

I personally buy cloths locally, usually when it's on sale like stock-take and the like, so their stock and prices don't suit me.

        • Haha.. you're a good uncle to be buying such expensive presents..
Yeah ASOS' prices arent the cheapest.. plus if you're buying clothing you would probably want to make sure it fits before you buy it.

        • yeah, I've bought shoes online before that didn't fit. Not keen on doing something similar again anytime soon. I think i will stick to electronic gadgets online.

      • UPDATE:
        reply

"Thank you for your email, and I’m sorry to hear you’ve not received your order.

I have checked and can confirm that unfortunately the parcel has been lost with our carrier and I have processed a replacement for your order which will be with you on or before 14/01/201"

        Same as mouseballs reply.

        Thanks for the advice kimba88.

        • Did you receive your GHD yet?

        • Wow, it is now the end of the 14th and the GHD is still a no-show.

Just checked the latest online order tracking by DPD (UK):
14 Jan 2011 18:32 Australia The parcel is in transit on its way to the local delivery destination.

It left the UK on the 10th and arrived in Australia on the 13th.

Doesn't look like it will be arriving until Monday, the next working day.

Its ASOS’ “committment to you”. They state if the order is late, they will refund the delivery charge and give you 10%off your next purchase. So you may be able to get 10% off (obviously delivery charge doesnt apply to you with the free shipping). But personally, i dont think that is good enough, considering you ordered it over a month ago. ASOS gave me a 10% off my next purchase code (valid for around 2weeks before it expires :-S). But i told them i wasnt going to use it since my delivery came really late and came damaged. Why should you have to spend more money to take advantage of ASOS’ resolution???
