Bose QC35 and Sony WH-1000XM2?

hi all..i just have a quick question for the ANC of these two. i tried both of them for a quick listening at jbhifi. for some reason the qc35 anc is a bit extreme for me compared to wh1000, i experienced like entering plane cabin during takeoff which is uncomfortable in my opinion. i just want to ask will our ear adapt to it or not? i'm currently leaning towards wh1000 but cant deny the comfort of qc35

think the general consensus is that the Sony's have superior sound, but the Bose are more comfortable.

FWIW, I wore a pair of QC35's for pretty close to 15 hours on a longhaul to LA, and it was fine

    • at the first time using it, does the anc makes you uncomfortable at first? or it was fine all the time

      • ive found them pretty comfortable since the start.. my wife has recently been wearing them and she loves them

        • yeah my problem is i felt the anc uncomofrtable at start. and im worried that i cannot adapt to it

        • @Rindy:

It is uncomfortable on the group but got used to it quickly.
But in the air it's fine.

  • I used to find a pressure on my ears when ANC was turned on. I find this sensation has weakened and doesnt bother me anymore.

    • when u say weakened, u still notice it right? and how long will it takes?

      • I'd say it took me a few weeks to get used to it. Now, the sensation is so light I only know the ANC is on, but it doesnt bother me. Its like a sudden quiet as though everyone around has stopped talking and a little pressure, like theres a small change in altitude. But the feeling fades away when you start doing other things like listening to music, etc.

        • so in your opinion, qc35 is better?

  • Got the QC35 II's in December. Love them.

  • With Bose I feel pressure and that underwater feeling that everyone speaks about. Sony doesn't have that pressure feeling but in a fairly quiet place, I can hear something like a light breeze and a feeling like I'm sitting near a seashore. I feel Sony NC is better though. Comfort wise bose is better because of low clamping force and wider earcups. But if you have small head and ears, sony is similar when it comes to comfort.

Sony can only pair with a one device at a time so its kind of a pain in the backside though

    • this is my point. it's either that i choose comfort vs sound and anc. i mostly used it for my commute like 2hrs in a day.

  • Depends If you are the sound or the look kinda guy. If you care more about look then get Bose. Lol

i actually prefer the look of sony better.

Have a look at the graphs for ANC capability and frequency response between these 2 headsets.

  • Does anyone know where I can buy a brand new QC35 I (via reputable retailer/ebay)? I don't care for the google assistant and would like something cheaper than the QC35 II.

I've exhausted options via google, it seems that if the QC35 I is being sold then it's more or less the same price as the II.
