  • Is this compatible with the mi home?

This is a very cheap price. However people should also look at the Broadlink rm mini 3 (IR control) and broadlink rm pro (RF and IR control). I think broadlink poetically interfaces easier with more home automation systems and Google home etc.

I have the rm mini 3. It's really small and works well.

And doesn't work with Foxtel so my 2 minis are barely even paperweights

  • Does the Alexa AU support this? Mi(Asia) has restriction to AU, only available to US

    • Don't know, but generally mi home app stuff is a fairly closed eco system unless you use stuff like a raspberry pi with home assistant or smart things or openhab etc.

I have a feeling rm mini might suit Alexa.

      • Thanks for the tool names, any link for the tutorial for rasp pi setup with rm mini , etc?

        • With rm mini you probably don't need to set up with a raspberry pi. I think it interfaces with smart home products directly. I can't provide tutorial, Google "broadlink alexa" or "broadlink rm mini alexa".

I use home assistant with rasp pi so i can do more complex automations using xiaomi smart home zigbee products. And i also just setup rm mini with home assistant today.

        • @kiwijunglist: Does the RM Mini connect directly to home assistant? Or does it require an Android app (running on a phone on the network) or something?

        • @3: directly

  • Did something dumb and threw out the box with the qr barcode. Anyone know how to connect to it now? Thanks

Sounds like it should be available in the app store for your phone

search "Mi Smart Home" in the "App Store" or "Google Play"

      • Thanks, will try that

    • there is a huge QR code at the top in the product description page if you visit the deal. is that what you are after?

  • how are people controlling these on android? I can only add it to mi home when using Chinese location which displays this remote control in Chinese.

  • Thanks… will give this a try, have been looking at options for controlling TV + soundbar.
