  • Any idea on what percentage off the Black and Decker kits fit into all this? Going by the email it's 60% but doesn't show under the 60% off tab

    • seems like just these 2
      http://search.supercheapauto.com.au/auto/black-and-decker-18…

they do have other kits though, there is a hammer drill one for $135 that i'd be interested in at $54

      • the price is before or after discount?

        • not Saturday yet so this would be the "before"

        • @Matt P: is it good price?

    • +9

This is a joke of a sale. Only a few things 40-60% off and it's mostly crap. Don't bother

      • +3

        Respectfully disagree with you.

A genuine minimum 20% off sale in a brick/mortar store is really good. The ONLY exclusion is gift cards and I reckon that's fair enough.

There's plenty of things that I've been looking to buy for a while that never go on sale and I snapped them up in a heartbeat.

        • Agree. I read 20-60% and thought "sweet, at least 20% off some things".

Then went to the Bowden's Own section and it said "30% off Bowden's Own" and I thought "doubly sweet!"

        • @CrushJelly: Currently using Meguiar's Ultimate Wash & Wax, I find it pretty good. How's the Bowden's Own Wax Wash in comparison?

        • @edfoo: I'm also currently using meguiars ultimate wash and wax. But I've always wanted to switch (I just have so many bottles still…)

Refer to this comment for reasons why:

    • Mmhhhh if they are 60% off it's a bargain cheapest I've seen them is $150 with Kogan eBay special.

  • +1

What about stuff not listed in any of those categories? 20%?

    • +1 Also interested, are car batteries included in this deal?

    • +2

It does say 20-60% off EVERYTHING, assume 20% off the stuff not listed as higher discounts

    • +1

Only thing excluded is gift cards.

I just bought two batteries at 20% off.

      • Went down and got myself a battery for 20% off also

  • Price jacking?

    • +15

      "Price jacking"
30% of off jacks and car stands. :)

      • +1

        Fixed

    • Surprisingly not, I didn't see any.

I've been hanging out for a good deal on car batteries here for a while. Discount today was genuine.

      • True. Was in store earlier. My leather care crap has gone up.

  • +1

Perfect timing as I'm in need of a new car battery. Thanks OP.

    • +4

Try Costco if you are a member

      • No Costco in Newcastle and not a member anyway.

  • Im in need of a new starter motor:/ but I doubt they are included.
Probably something they must special order in.

    • +2

There is a Repco sale on as well, 25% off parts, 35% off oils etc.

    • +1

Just go to Veale or Burson, it will be cheaper than Supercheap any day

    • Everything's included except gift cards.

  • Thinking of getting an interior cleaner, leather cleaner, and a scratch remover/polish, but have no idea which to get.

these 4 brands make all of them: Autoglym, No-H2O, Meguiar's, Armor all,

with Bowden's Own and Oakwood for the leather products.

Anyone have any recommendations on what to get/avoid?

    • +4

Bowden's Own all the way man. Aussie made and they're great stuff.
I've tried AutoGlym, Meguiars, Armorall (lol) but keep going back to Bowden's Own.

Really like their 'Wheely Clean', 'Leather Love', 'Leather Guard' and 'Vinyl Care' products.
Haven't tried the Fabra Cadabra but I've heard great things (for cloth seats)

      You won't regret it!

      • Thanks for the recommendation. I'll probably get their Leather stuff, then.

I believe I'll need a separate thing for the carpet/upholstery, do you have any comments on those?

      • +1

Second this, Bowden's Own wheely clean and leather love are amazing. They also have a specific applicator (square bear) for interior that works extremely well.

Autoglym in general is also good and extremely popular but look up reviews of the specific product, as their stuff can be hit or miss

    • +1

      Bowdens own or Autoglym.

The Bowdens stuff for the most part is one of the better "readily available" brands around. There is better out there, but in niche detailing stores.

    • +1

Definitely get Bowdens Own, you'll be support an aussie company. Checkout their detailers group on facebook

    • +1

      Quick polish/wipe- Autoglym Rapid Detailer
      Interior cleaner- 303 aerospace protectant
      Leather cleaner- Bowdens Leather love/care

These are the ones a lot of car enthusiasts and detailers use. Particularly the aerospace protectant

      • Autoglym Rapid Detailer

This is neither a polish or waterless wash. It is a spray sealant. It is used for protecting, not cleaning

        303 aerospace protectant

This is a protectant only. It contains no cleaners. Optimum Protectant Plus is a similar and cheaper product which has both.

        Bowdens Leather love/care

Most leather now days is coated and specific leather cleaners are just rebranded APC

        • Couple things

          1. Rapid detailer is perfectly usable as a quick polish, unless you are playing semantics. It can be sprayed on to finger prints, dirt, bird droppings, new waterspots and then easily wiped off w/ a microfibre cloth. Never said it was a cleaner. What do you define as a wash? Is a wash not something that helps remove unwanted debris off your paint? Doesn't matter what it uses to help with that

          2. I should have specified. There is no better interior cleaner than a warm damp cloth. That goes goes for chrome, plastic and coated leather.

          3. I know that leather is coated. I should have specified as above. Using a leather cleaner on top helps prevent UV fading, which will happen even to plastic coated leather.

End of the day, use what works.

        • @Tech5:

I'm not playing semantics. A wash, a polish and a protectant are 3 different things. Autoglym Rapid Detailer is a spray sealant and therefore is not a wash, not a polish but a protectant

        • @4agte:

Lol literally the first line on their page is “rapid detailer removes light dirt, restores shine and leaves a layer of polymeric protection”. So unless this is semantics and the following words mean something else to you, then it cleans, polishes and protects.

Also btw, i never said wash if you want to be technical. I said polish/wipe which is both correct according go autoglym

        • @Tech5:

If you want to follow the advice written by marketing then go ahead. That includes using the word polish incorrectly. I use and test products in the real world. Marketing have no idea. They're job is to sell not correctly educate. Eg. Why call it a spray wax and then refer to synthetic polymers? It is clearly a spray sealant

No spray wax should ever be used to remove dirt. Maybe some light dusting. They can't encapsulate dirt like a real quality waterless wash like Optimum, Ultima, Wolfgang, 3D to name a few. If you use a spray detailer/wax/sealant to clean, you are increasing the marring to your car

  • +4

Ugh, I already have 50 car cleaning products. Oh well, time to buy some more.

  • +4

Got sucked in again! Spent hours loading up my cart with about 50 clearance items at prices too good to be true, only to find 48 of them are out of stock. Wouldn't be so bad if they weren't running their website on an old mobile phone! It takes 5 minutes to add or delete an item, or change quantities. PLEASE SCA, update your system and get something more powerful that can handle the traffic these sales generate.

    • I'm pretty sure yesterday they just sold out of the welder I wanted because they were sooo damned cheap..
      http://i68.tinypic.com/35crbxe.png

In all seriousness, what is worse than their instore stock levels being messed up is that it says things are available for delivery (even when it knows your postcode), but then when they are in your cart, if there is no stock near you it then says it is out of stock.
I I is hard to not contemplate brodening 1000 welders at that kind of price error. Best part is it said shipping was only going to be $110 for 1000 units. Profit.
There are a few other not so significant cheap items too. Shovels, mattocks.

In my quick searching of major postcodes around Australia no where has stock. Good luck if you find stock near you.

  • +1

Supercheap always do this; have an online sale and fall out of stock within 30min and then runs out of stock in all nearest stores as well. Always.

  • +1

Funny, SCA have this big sale and you can still buy most things cheaper elsewhere

    • Same as BCF, which is part of the same group.

  • How about car batteries? Purchased a car battery a week ago will they refund the difference?

    • You can if you're a part of club plus and used your card when paying, pretty sure the difference is just put on your account from memory.

  • What's the go wit hthe Tridon wipers? They seem to be standard price or close to. $38 each can't be 30% off already? Sparesbox have them for $39 with free shipping for the pair.

    • It's 30% off the prices you see on there currently.

  • i only just got a battery and replaced all my lights off them yesterday RIP at me

    • Yeah tell me about it, spent couple hundred bucks on engine battery. That’s like $90 gone.

      • Are you a member and scanned your card? They'll refund the difference as credit to use…within 2 weeks or a month from recollection.

        • not a member =(

        • I’m not and paid Cash unfortunately…well they installed the battery for me anyway.

      • Should have waited for a sale.

  • +1

I can't add new price. Show the new but when check out website shows old price. What's the problem?

    • Same.

    • Sale starts on 31/3/18. Probably won't be active until later in the AM maybe?

  • Misleading. This is just a 20% off sale with a few catalogue items. Only about 20 items (out of tens of thousands) are in the higher discount categories.

    • -5

Many posters are very quick to give a neg +1 for this user

I get this Oil however not sure with other items.

      • Shell Helix HX7 Engine Oil - 10W-40, 5 Litre @ 28-03-18 = $25.79 Easter Sale
      • Shell Helix HX7 Engine Oil - 10W-40, 5 Litre @ 31-03-18 = $31.80 with their Gazzillion percent off sale

The old jack up the price, give a big discount and it's made no difference in price trick!

Hurry up get in quick!!!! while stocks last!

      • +1

Obviously the Easter Sale was more than 20% off not that hard to understand and it ended on the 28th. No price jacking here at all or do you want them to keep the Easter sale running all year and then give an additional 20% off a sale item even after the sale has ended.

        • -7

          No.

We want daily variable pricing model like service stations where you think you are getting a great deal on the day, and then a few days later, there is a better one. Then the following week, there is another price .. to confuse the hell out of consumers. It will get there.

Regarding variable pricing, I encourage that you get back to me when you buy an item; such as a 4K UHD TV and then a few days later, the same item is $500 off .. and you can't recoup the difference.

Too many goody-two-shoes, politically correct people that suck it up, defend the retailers and that's why they do what they do.

    • +4

Fairly valid comment…. strange that Wally got negs. Click the promotional flyer - 10 items 60% off; 4 items 50% off (and the general purpose thinner at "50% off" is NOT! Product page price shows 50% off- $13.49, but full price $26.99 when put in cart); 40% off is 37 different colours of 1 paint product, and also 12 light bars, 35% is 9 fridge products; then lots of general products at 30% off.
So anything discounts over 30% are certainly not storewide… there are 36 products discounted out of their very large number of stocklines, and one of those 36 (the thinners) has no discount when it hits the shopping cart.

      • Someone might be reading this…. the cart discount error on thinners has been fixed. Good work.

  • Anyone comment on the quality of the jumper leads, specifically the 750amp ones

    • I bought one over 5 years ago and its still going strong. Kept in the back of the ute all this time. Assuming its the same type now but will compare when im in store later if i remember.

    • eBay 3000amp 6m heavy duty jumper leads for $32.90

      • +1

        3000Amp, LMAO!!

      • Yes, these are the ones that i do not want to to buy. I have a naturally asperated 4.2 litre diesel engine, it is difficult to to jumper start

  • these any good ? seem a bit on the low powered side

    http://www.supercheapauto.com.au/Product/Rockwell-ShopSeries…

im looking for one for pain correction, polish and seal. inted to use it quite a bit on several cars and motorbikes

    • Invest in a proper dual action polisher. DAS6 sells pretty cheaply on AliExpress

      • This is a dual action polisher. Although I agree he should step up since he's doing multiple cars, this is a good starter unit and you won't get better for this price imo.

  • Trying to pick up a cheap torque wrench, the 25 dollar one is back at 20% off but can't get it in the cart :(

anybody rate the toolpro 3/8" at 80 bucks?

    • What would you be using it for?

      • Just general car stuff. Drain plugs, spark plugs etc

        • ive had the aldi $20 one for a while now, its probably better IMO than a sca one.

          Toolpro is probably much better

  • supercheap is such a rip off you'll need 20% just to make them competitive

  • Are the SCA 300amp jump cables any good for $19.98 for a 2009 Toyota V6?

    • +3

for $30 you can get a lithium battery jump starter, no need for another car.. besides you can use it as a power bank for your phone

my one looks the same as this, different brand though, probably different battery, mines good for around 8 - 10 starts on a volvo which suggests a battery with 660 CCA - but then again it is swedish after all
      https://www.aliexpress.com/item/Liplasting-Brand-8000mAh-Jum…?

      • Wow.. thanks..

      • Interesting powerbank that can be used to jumpstart a car, never seen one before.
If I want one that can jump start a 4x4 with turbo diesel engine e.g. Toyota Prado, which one of the powerbanks is powerful enough to do the job?

  • What is the best product to get rid of light scuff mark ? Thanks

    • +1

      Spit

    • WD-40, maybe windex

      • Mr Portokalos is that you

    • Clay bar

  • Not storewide, none of the Stanley bags are discounted at all and are 90%-100% more then others stores.

  • This is a bargain, seeing the impact driver skin is $80 alone

I ordered some wiper blades and selected postage because I felt lazy and noticed delivery fee $0.00 ! Maybe just this weekend ?
