Best price for Apple iPhone 16GB Plan

Can someone help me find the best mobile plan for iPhone 4 16GB?

I would prefer a cap, and no more than $59 a month. I would like about 200MB of interent data, I dont make alot of calls, but do txt alot. I do not want any plan with Vodafone but am happy to look at any other service provider.

I dont know alot about iphones & plans but is it possible to get a good plan, and get the phone for free? Or is that asking too much?!

Thanks in advance! :)

  • I'm with 3 right now and I'm paying $53 a month for a 32gb iphone and I'm getting 150mb of data with like 200 dollars or so of credit.

$54/month gets you $450 worth of calls and 500mb with virgin

or you could choose the smart cap and get more data, but less talk credit.

    • You might want to consider the Smart Cap if you use data a lot. Cause you can get $300 call credit and 2GB of data for $54/month on the Smart Cap.
Call rates are the same AFAIK.

  • thanks! I will buy the virgin mobile one, when they get more in stock! Thanks again :)

    Telstra. do a search.

    • I think you should do a search. Telstra were the most expensive.

  • ditot

  • 599 outright at the US apple website + TPG 19 dollar plan + Jailbreak & unlock, take care of the iphone and sell it in 2 years for 3-400.

    • How do you buy it for 599 outright?

"Can I buy an iPhone without an AT&T contract?

No. iPhone requires a two-year AT&T wireless service contract."

      • Took me a while to find too, it's in the small prints down the bottom, in gray. I'm getting a friend of mine to ship one over for me.

        • Help me find it?
I can't seem to find the fineprint lol.

  • Correct me if I am wrong but doing some maths

    $600 plus $19 a month for 2 years = 456 +600 = $1056

    • shipping and US sales Tax according to state friend lives in - average 5%

    Sales Tax = $23 Shipping = $45 total $68

    Est cost $1056 + 68 = $1124

Vs Virgin deal $1296 and if via their website 3 months free = $1134 and you get official unlock free? and extra 1 GB data a month

    is it worth the hassle?

    • Yep, that's fair. I would argue it gives you greater flexibility if you buy the phone outright, the $19 plan is just an example. In my case, I'm not a high volume caller and I mainly use wifi with the phone so the TPG $10 plan would suffice. Don't forget there is no contract with this option, with virgin you have no choice and are stuck with a $54/month payment.

If the OP can live with having $250 worth of call and 250Mb/mth, then 10 X 24 + $660 or so for the phone (postage quoted by my mate at 31) = $900. The virgin deal especially with 3 mths off is a pretty sweet deal though.

      • just remember an iphone is smartphone and while you might make small calls, data on the $10 plan is only 250MB (But as you said you will use a lot of wifi)

All that said, the discussion helps everyone make a more informed choice and you raise some very good options
