Went to buy my girlfriend a new phone and found that Dick Smith have the Nokia E63 for $109 (was $149 previously, and is still $149 at other stores as well as the Virgin Mobile store). I'd say it's the best smartphone for the price. Their site did list the same phone locked to Three for cheaper, but the store I went to didn't have any Three phones at all. The one I got was black, so they're not all red or burgundy or whatever.

Locked to Virgin Mobile, but can be unlocked for free as soon as you recharge with at least $80 credit total.

    This is a great phone, I had it for like 6 months or something. Qwerty keyboard is awesome and so is browsing the web on wifi.

    That's the one locked to 3, it's a clearance item and only available in stores, so no PayPal refund there. Still, $89.50 is an excellent price, so if you want one, be quick!

      Yeah, the Dick Smith stores I went to all didn't have any Three phones at all. I'm not sure which stores actually have the one that's locked to Three.

    Sweet. I'm on Virgin and I needed a new phone to replace my dying Motorola v360v. I usually recharge $100 at a time so I'll be able to unlock it after one recharge… not that I'll need to. Looks like a winner!

      That may have been the Nokia C3. That one is $99 at Dick Smith too, however it's not as good. The C3 is only 2G (not 3G) and has less built-in memory. The E63 is quite a bit better :)
