2017 LG OLED

Hey wondering if anyone has found any good deals on the 2017 55” 4K LG OLED’s. It looks like the main department stores are selling for around $2290 was hoping to get one for around $1900. Anyone had any luck recently? I noticed they actually dropped to $1699 on the Boxing Day sales.

If not what do you think about a referbished unit selling on eBay for $1775? Or do you think it will be worth waiting until the end of financier year sales?
Sorry if there is already as forum discussing this, I could not find one.

    I saw it drop to ~$1,400 at JB Hifi around Mid-Feb till End-Feb.
    Ya missed out. I was tempted to buy, but my current old unit was refurbished/fixed.
    I really like the User Experience/UI of the webOS 2.0 units… much better than SONY's AndroidTV and Samsung's Tizen choices.
    At least with the cheap Chinese TV's, you save some money which you can put forward to an Android TV Box, then forget about the horrid User Interface of the TV.

    edit: whoops, that unit I'm thinking of was a 55" Series 7 4K-HDR10 with 200Hz LED TV. It was everything sans OLED.

    Only comes to $1936 shipped. I wouldn't personally buy right now though. Better deals will come.

      Yeah did see that deal the other day. You think they will drop much lower? If I get that and it drops say another hundred I wouldn’t mind too much but would be pretty upset if all the 2017 models sell out while I’m waiting for a deal.
      Do you have any expericance with EOFY tv sales it will be the 2018 model but wondering roughly what we could expect.

        Nah I'm no expert but I would still wait. As you mentioned in the OP: end of year seems to be the time to plan the purchase of a new TV. If you need one now though, this seems like the best deal to me.

      I have had a plasma and a oled (which I stupidly sold and replaced with a 4K Samsung) and OLED is so much better. Definitely more expensive but worth it.

    OLED = Organic = finite resource = slow discounting.

    The synthetic "OLED" that's next should be cheaper and better.

    I keen for one but my plasma is ok for now. I have no screen burn and the f8500 is bright lile an led. I like oled but if they dropped in Jan I would have bought one. But seems the Xmas sale is it.
