  • So you can get a $249 phone included after staying with amaysim energy for 1 month?
    Where's the catch?

    • +6

The catch is now bolded. You must be an existing Amaysim telecom customer, if not you'll first need to sign up for an Amaysim SIM.

the second catch is that the Sony XA isn't really worth $249 anymore as it's a 2+ year old phone.

      • Ah ok now I see :)
Still not a bad deal though?

          …and it was $99 recently

@pointnlarf: This is why all deals need to be verified by Ozbargain.

I'm glad I'm a part of this community. I love you all, my cheapskate fellows.

    Was $99 a few months back https://www.ozbargain.com.au/node/333597

  • Amaysim electricity standard rates are ten percent higher than Origin standard rates.

    • Who has the best rates of all the providers?

      • That depends on your distribution area and distributor.

    • Not for me. They only have 31% discount on usage only. Amaysim on usage & supply so amaysim would be far cheaper for me. Might depend on where you live.

  • Use code POWER18 for free pair of Beats Powerbeats3 Wireless In-Ear headphones (valued at $215) after you switch to one of our energy plans using promo code POWER18.

Offer ends 19 April (or while stocks last)!

    • You’d only be able to use one code though, so it’s either the headphones or the XA.

    • Powerbeats 3 apparently has reliability issues according to Amazon reviews. It also has poor ratings on the Apple shop.

you may be better off with the Sony, as outdated as it is. However, JB Hifi sells Powerbeats3 for over $200+ dollars, so you could find an unsuspecting buyer on eBay who is willing to spend that much on it.

BE AWARE with them! I switched to them with this offer https://www.ozbargain.com.au/node/356076 Right before that, I had online chat with them and they comfirmed I will get that $250 credit . Last month, their first bill came, without any credit been applied! I made complaint about this deceptive behavior right away. They said they had sent this case to sales team for investigation . Now 3 weeks has passed, I emailed them over 10 times, without any progress, even no any time frame to give an outcome.

So long stall can only be explained in 2 ways: they are so busy to cope with many complaints, or they do not have the minimal respection to customer. Hope no one here suffer the same terrible experience.

Also, their price is obviously higher than other companies even after 30% off. In the long run you will pay more.It is absolutely a lost for you if they do not honour their promise.

Also be aware the 30% discounts is added to the next bill, it is not deducted from first bill. If your first bill 30% is greater than $250, go ahead and join. If not there is no value in the deal.

    • Contact EWON or your state version outside of New South Wales.
Their payment for complaints seems to have a pay per complaint component ala the TIO.

So contact there call centre and ask to talk to the team that deals with regulator complaints as you wish to confirm the steps before contacting your version of EWON. As a general rule you will go to the team that can fix your problem fastest.

Remember - ask them to commit to a time for action and say if not done/received or contacted with an update your next contact is with the regulator.
