If you want to lock in the pricing now you will need to make payment and complete the order. We will likely keep this pricing for a while though.

        • I am in same position as yours (HFC). The process wouldn’t go pass through immediate payment (hoping to do BPAY as loophole for preorder, does not work though). I was hoping to preorder as well and pay when HFC becomes available.

  • hi, I have old iinet bob lite, any special setting change required or the modem is hard coded to iinet NBN?

    • I'm pretty sure we have customers using the Bob modems, please ask on the whirlpool thread below.

      https://forums.whirlpool.net.au/forum-replies.cfm?t=2618758

    • Bob lite wont work because it doesn't support vdsl required for fttn NBN connections.

I believe the buddii does support it as well as fttp

      • thanks. bob lite only supports fttp.

  • What modem do you recommend for Perth FTTN? We liked the current modem from Optus but if we need a new modem for this plan, I will get one from ebay. To be honest the modem that you configured is a bit steep at $150? Thanks.

    • There's lot's of info from existing users about modems in this thread below

      https://forums.whirlpool.net.au/forum-replies.cfm?t=2618758

      • Hello,

Thank you very much, I am transferring the service from Optus, and how long will it take? If I order the modem through ebay it will take one or two weeks, I selected the order in my account and to the payment step already, what can I do to keep the order until the modem comes? Thank you !

        • If you want to have your service activated at a later date you need to include details in the notes section when adding it in the portal

  • Just changed my two Skymesh accounts to you guys. :)

    • Nice :-)

      • One hopefully churned asap (FTTN) and the other hopefully across at the end of the month (FTTP) :)

  • Do you still have ADSL plans for those of us who may or may not ever receive the HFC upgrade?

    • We do, unlimited ADSL2+ for $69/mth with a $99 setup fee.

Please email support if you are interested.

  • So if I want to xfer from another vocus reseller HFC after they go bust (high likelihood) how long would it take to come across?

    • +1

If you're in Vic we can churn you otherwise it will be a downtime of 1 - 2 weeks unfortnately

      • Great im in vic. Will keep it up my sleeve if/when my RSP goes belly up

      • Is that the same for FTTB?

        • We can churn FTTB from anywhere

  • Cost of a fixed ip address please?

    • +2

      $5.50 per month

  • I'm moving into a new apartment development with NBN FTTP in a few weeks. I'm keen to sign up with your service, but I have a few questions:

    • Will there be any associated charges, or have these likely already been covered by the developer? The NBN NTD is installed and the address is visible on the NBN website.

    • Do you know if a technician will need to physically access the property (either the building or my apartment) or can the connection be activated remotely?

    • What are the set-up times if no technician appointment is necessary?

    • Can I sign up now but only activate it in, say 2-3 weeks' time and pay from that date?

  • It's very likely there will be a $300 new development fee but you should email your details to support and ask and someone will confirm for you.

If the NTD is in place and powers up then it's likely a tech won't need to attend and we should be able to activate the service remotely.

An FTTP service can normally be provisioned within 24 hours if it's ready for service.

You can sign up now and leave details in the notes about your preferred provisioning time but you would need to make payment when adding the service.

    • Thanks for your response! I will email support.

  • Hi Rep,
Moving into a new place in a month.. and my MyRepublic service ends 1 June.

If I set up with you guys, how much time do I need? The house were moving into has the NBN box set up and ready to go. I have my own router (courtesy of OzB…).

And, do other ISPs organise the cancellation of my current ISP? Or do I do that myself?

  • What's the process for ordering a subsequent installation for FTTN (on a second phone line)? Do I select the $300 new development fee in the online signup process?

  • Hi Rep
Any "All calls included" options for VoIP?
i.e. most ISPs have all national calls for $10 extra per month.

    • Sorry, we are PAYG calls only.

Something people should consider before signing up. According to the internet, Telecube is an all off-net nbn ISP, which means they rely of their wholesaler (Optus at the moment I believe) to provide the access to nbn. So essentially they are like ALDImobile etc.. Compare to on-net nbn ISPs, if something went wrong, they probably won't be as effective as in solving the problem.

I am not associated with any of the ISP, just someone who trying to figure out which nbn ISP is better for my need. Both Telecube and Aussie Broadband seem to have very good reputation here on OzBargain, but no one ever mention anything like on-net or off-net and POI. Those are all factors that contribute directly towards your internet experience, an ISP may be perfect for one suburb but not the others. Just saying, you may wanna consider all the facts before switching, especially for the ones with HFC like my house, even fast-churn can take a few days.

    • +1

Telecube's backhaul provider is Vocus or Wideband.

They still have their own infrastructure so comparing them to an VMNO is unfair.

Little bit of knowledge can be dangerous. Please educate yourself further before volunteering any advice.

  • Still n/a in my area :'(

Big thumbs up to the Rep who’s spent a lot of time answering everybody’s questions.

More like you on this site please!

  • Hi Rep,
Just signed up for a transfer.

Do I have to call in to cancel my last NBN provider, or does the transfer automatically cancel it (like mobile phone plans)?

Also I'm assuming I will get an email when the transfer is complete ?

    Thank you.

    • Once we confirm your service is successfully transferred across you should cancel with your old provider to ensure they don't continue billing you.

  • trying to make a call internationally and it goes number sending switched off

  • Im currently using iinet cable, but have fttp available. Thinking of connecting and using both services for essentially double the speed.

  • so im currently in the process of moving house and am looking for an ISP.

What are peoples opinions on telecube?
Whirlpool doesn't seem to positive about them

  • Who even has NBN? Last time I checked the rollout map, only about 10% of Melbourne has been hooked up.

  • +1

I am with Telecube 100/40 1000GB in about one month, when using fast, the speed is about 20M or less. when using speedtest.net the speed is about 70M. But I feel like it pretty slows even worse than TPG 50M

  • Make it $70 and you got a deal.

  • Can I ask please, what does 100/40 , 50/20 etc mean? I tried searching online but didn't get any decent answer. Maybe I'm using the wrong search words. Thanks

    • It's the speed tiers for the nbn connections

      100/40 = 100Mbps download / 40Mbps upload

These speeds are the theoretical maximum speeds a connection can reach, in reality the speeds will always be a few Mbps less.

      • Thanks. Is there a way of checking how much speed I will get at my address?

        • +1

Email support and ask for a speed estimate please.

  • I have a telstra NBN Router. Would I need to get another Router to move to your service?

    • If it's in use with a Telstra NBN service now and it's not locked you most likely will be able to use it.

      • It's in use with Telstra NBN. How do I know if it is locked?

        • See if you can log into it and make changes.

        • Default username is admin, password is telstra.

          It will likely work.

  • I'm currently with Skymesh and I'm looking to port to you guys as I've really good things. How long does setup typically take? And will I lose internet during this time period (I've haven't changed ISP with NBN before)? If it helps, I'm on FTTP and I'm on the Goodna POI.

    • Add Telecube onto UNI-D2 then just swap over when Telecube is good to go (should only take a few hours). Then cancel Skynesh on UNI-D1.

    • We'll provision the new service on the next available port and you can swap your router across when it suits so there will be no downtime.

Provisioning a new FTTP service generally completes within 24 hours.

      • Okay cool - thank you both for your replies.

Is the renewal date the sign up day or is it the first of the month? Is it possible to change renewal date?

        • The renewal day is the date that the service first goes live, it can't be changed.

  • I signed up online. I know I need to pay the $300 activation fee but it didn't ask for this anywhere. Just the first month's payment.

    Any help?

    • When someone picks up the order to process it they will ask you to add the $300 to your account, if you already know you are liable for the new dev fee you can add the $300 now and it will speed up the process.

  • Wow, huge price drop. thanks.

i've been a telecube nbn customer for a while now. very happy, particularly with tech support team.

  • I just joined telcube earlier this week. On 50/20 plan and upgraded to 100/40 why am i paying the $85.. can i still take advantage of this deal? -_-

    • you can yes

      • Please tell me how? Thanks in advance!

        • Click through the link in the opening post and then click through the [Change to this plan] button

        • @telecube:

I've already changed to 100/40 plan on friday and it came into affect today, as the limit is one per month is there any way around this? ….

  • Sorry bit late to the party….but I'll be getting nbn fttc in the next two months…I can see them laying the fibre in the street..so timing is likely correct from nbn co website

I've got crappy wifi due to having an L shaped home and modem at the end…so looking at getting a top of the line modem …looking at the dlink dsl4320 …but people saying fibre to the curb requiring modem updates …is this correct…..does the $300 apply to a development site that's been active for at least 7 years.or just new sites…keen on the 1tb plan ….west Melbourne location. Thanks in advance…any other fees that apply….Will be great to be shot of optus ADSL offnet…..1MB download at best.

    • Just sent an email direct to support as I got no response. thanks

  • If I get close to 100/40 speeds with Aussie Broadband, should this be the case with you guys too?

Having a FTTP connection, would the new connection be set up with the next available port / would I need to enter a username and password in the router?

    • +1

You should get similar speeds yes. We will provision the service on the next available port yes and you just need to swap your router across and enter the new details.

  • +2

I have moved over to Telecube on Feb during their 100/40-1TB-$69 deal and it was fine during the early days. Lately I am really getting hit by the evening peak traffic/CVC congestion whatever you call it. It is really bad from 8pm till late. I was with Skymesh for the last two years before that - never experienced anything like this. Only reason I moved to this guys because of better value, well…? FYI - I am on Campbelltown 2 CSA circuit - FTTP. Not happy.

    • We're having some speed issues over the last few days and are working on it as a high priority, it isn't a cvc allocation issue.

      • Any timeframe for the fix? Will it get resolved from your end or do I have to keep pestering support team?

    • Same here. They r losing the quality of the service provided earlier.

      • Nonsense, we're having some network issues which we will resolve.

  • +1

Do you have any guarantee speed if I chose 50/20 ?

    • We can't guarantee your speed, there are too many factors involved that affect speeds.

    • Don't think they can. I got 100/40 package and last night i was getting 3Mbps. And worse technical support who just take a message and promise someone will call asap and that ll not happen.

      • -3

It's a network issue, talking to you about it isn't going to help. We are working on it and will resolve it asap

        • +3

It does actually. That's what customer service is called to ensure customers are informed proactively and support to acknowledge there is an issue when called and assist. Not just get a name and number to make false promise that someone will get back shortly.

Looking forward for resolution asap. Do u have an eta?

        • @b4rgainhunter: Please sign up to notifications https://telecube.io/

        • @telecube: Are Tasmanian outages mentioned separately or do they fall under Vic?

        • +1

@Insidious: They will fall under vic

        • @telecube: done

  • Don't sign them up. They are becoming another buzz telco. Getting poor speed at night time, poor technical support, login to portal to log a case which instead open new email.

Called support yesterday was advised that someone will be intouch shortly and that has not happened till now.

I am on 100/40 package. In afterhours i get 3 Mbps.

    • OMG. You saved my time and money. Thanks.

      • I know nothing about TC but are you seriously basing your decision on one person's feedback with no context? Oh well the power of the internet I guess.

  • -3

Geez come on mate .. we've had 2 nights of issues .. we'll have it resolved shortly. It isn't a lack of cvc as the peak usage is well below the amount of capacity we have available, there's something going on that is causing speed issues with some users and we will resolve it.

    • +2

This is not the sort of reply I was expecting from a rep. Paints your company and products in a really poor light, mate.

      • Yep, reading it back to myself today I have to agree. Apologies for the outburst.

        • I don't know, I kind of like the more human sounding responses. Refreshing after all the lip service and no action you get from other providers. But on the other hand I have no issues with my speed, Otherwise I might grab my torch and pitchfork too :)

  • What would the typical evening peak time speed be on a 100/40 plan in WA?
We are supposedly getting FTTC between OCT - DEC. I’m assuming that you have pretty high peak time speeds due to 1tb capped data too?
Feel free to add some more specials around that time :)

    • I'm on FTTN in Perth and consistently get over 90/30 in peak time on Telecube. Tonight it's a little slower than usual

      • I'm in Perth. Getting about 79Mbps on a FttN connection that has a cap of ~84Mbps. My node has over 400 households on it. Most of the time, my speed tests are about 75Mbps. Slowest I have had was in the 60s during peak hours. Ping is 8ms. I'm satisfied.

  • +2

I'm currently 8 days without any internet after trying to churn my FTTN connection to TC from Skymesh. I have found their support to be very disappointing so far and they barely seemed to care that I'm without internet.

If your internet is important to you, keep in mind there are risks to changing over and these guys only seem to answer support during business hours and take ages to get back to you on their preferred method of email communications.

Though, I'm still hopeful it will be worth it when they finally get the connection working.

  • Just wanted to give a shout out to those who are communicative here and on Whirlpool. I appreciate the responsiveness and candid of the reps.

Just wish the service was a little more stable.

  • Hi Rep
I currently have FTTB NBN with AussieBB.

Can I specify a particular date that my service is transferred, as i'm half way through my billing period. If so, how long does the transfer take? When I signed up with NBN, my service was active within 15 minutes.

    When does this deal end?

    • You can include information in the notes section when adding the service about the timing, please clearly state the date you want the service to go live.

This deal is set to end on this coming Sunday

      • So as long as I signup by Sunday, I can have the service activated at the start of May?
