  • No matter how accurate I get my colours to be, I'll always be colourblind :'(

It is damn cheap now :(
    I should have waited.

    • Yeah you just had to rush in and buy it!.

  • Can this be used for TV as well?

    • Really depends on the options available and specifications of the specific TV.

    • +1

seems unlikely unless you can plug it into a computer and use an ICC profile that the spyder creates

      • If the tv let's you tune it's RGB channels, these will still make a difference.

I haven't personally tested the Spyder.

    • +1

Yes, but the settings will only apply to when you have the computer you used to do the calibration attached. So not practically, no.

Thanks OP, wanted a SPyder but was so expensive. Thought about renting one instead of buying but this deal was really good.

Just have to use the DisplayCal software instead of the manufacturer's one which isn't good.

Plus I always wanted to buy and see if B&H was good, I used paypal so this opportunity will come in handy.

Don't worry, bought lots of camera gears worth thousands of dollars from them and service is top notch. Never had a problem with them.

Thanks OP. Was looking around at the different display calibration products over the weekend. This came at the right time.

  • Looking to buy, is this the one to get? (people have said in reviews that older models are superior)

    • So my spyder4pro is still good then after all these year hehe

      • Apparently so!

    • May i know where did you read it from? Very mix opinions. I read x rite is a better option? Thanks

      • Reviews from the website selling the item - user reviews. I found the 'professional' reviews a bit limited

The Ringlight looks like a decent deal too.

I noticed that too, but it's not directly compatible here without a step-down voltage regulator (Input Voltage 120 VAC, 50/60 Hz). Also, I think LEDs are superior now at least for efficiency.

Okay thanks. Didn't consider that. I have a step down reg but decided to pass. I watched a review which didn't really impress me. I can't edit my original comment now either.

        Also, thanks OP. Bought.

I bought the Spyder3 years ago and it has been invaluable in getting dual monitors to look the same - you needed some trickery to do multiple monitors, so this one doing multiple monitors is great.

I think I paid around this for the 3, so tempted to pull the trigger.

Just ask yourself, what does this one do that the one you have doesn't? If it works fine, then just wait for the next generation instead. I got this one cause it'll be my first monitor calibration tool, I have quite a bit of desktops and laptops lying around.

      • Gasp - Not in the OzBargain spirit! :)

        (But you’re right)

  • Anything similar for big TVs and Projectors?
