PRAISE

Haven't seen the 1TB version any cheaper yet, at least from the deals that have been posted. The 500GB variant was slightly cheaper yesterday, however if you missed out on that, this one is only a few dollars more. Now cheaper. PC Byte and Shopping Express have the same prices for the 1TB variant, so here are the links below if Futu are out of stock or the listing ends early.

The three stores regularly try to compete for the lowest price, so I'll try to update this post whenever there is a price change which makes these cheaper.

Update 2/5: As mentioned above on how there might be further price drops, Futu are now matching PC Byte's price for the 250GB & 500GB SSDs. Have amended the title to reflect the new price.

Update 6/5: Further price drop on the 500GB SSD, price now $163.60. Have updated the title.

      Funny how I was waiting for a special on a 500gb ssd for over a month then didn't check for a week and i missed a deal.

  • Good price - I bought the 1tb version a few weeks ago for $319.

    • yeah, cheapest I've seen is $310 and now our $ is down a bit .

      Enjoy, I have a few 1TB SSD drives and not needing to manage space is so relaxing.

  • I read 500gb for $100 and had a brief moment of shock!

    How do these compare to the Samsung Evo line? Reliable?

    • +2

      yes, super reliable albeit a tiny bit slower than Samsung

      I still have multiple MX100, M500 and M550's (non x models) in service to this day (years later)

      • same, have 5 Crucial SSDs, no issues.
        MX100, oldie but a goody, was cheapest $ per GB on tom's hardware in it's day,

    500GB for $167…I may need to upgrade my old M4.

  • Look decent, good price

  • why such a big difference going from 500gb to 1TB compared to 250gb -> 500gb?

    I currently have 500gb and wanting to go 1TB but cant justify the huge extra cost.

      Supply and demand 101.

      You need 250GB more NAND (plus other stuff) when going from 250GB to 500GB while an extra 500GB NAND is needed when you jump from 500GB to 1 TB?

      250 GB -> 500GB = an addition $67.2 for 250GB more = $0.2688 per additional GB
      500 GB -> 1TB = an additional $146.4 for 500GB more = $0.2928 per additional GB

      The differences per unit cost isn't really that much more when going from 500GB to 1TB.

  • I'll have another MX300 2TB for $400 thanks.

    • so they came good and honoured it ?

      I thought it might have been clearance and make room for MX500.

      • Yes it arrived.

  • Futu jacked the price of the laptop I'd been eying by $100. If I'm going to stick to my principles, I don't think I'll be buying anything from them during this sale.

  • 250G I saw the lowest is $80

  • Awesome, finally ran out of space on my 128GB OS drive (it's hard keeping everything on C: down) with the latest Win10 update so a new drive is justified!

    • will a 250gb be enough as OS drive? planning to build a NUC wondering if I need to get a 500gb…

      • The OS itself uses 20GB, so it depends how much you avoid storing stuff in C:.

  • I want the 1TB, but just can't Bite the Bullet at that price. Cannot wait till price shrinks further. Still thinking

  • guys i just got mine and it came box but it was upside down in box and no anti-static bag ? is this normal and safe? anyone else have same ?
