Selling Foreign Currency (Japanese Yen), Best Place??

Hi guy's,

i have some yen, approximately 110,000 leftover from my trip and Im having a hard time finding the best place or bank to sell it to, as it seems the rates suck.

so far, it seems that citibank in melbourne has the best rate, but I'm not sure if they even buy back yen?

anyone know where I can sell my yen at the best rate?

TIA

  • how much did you buy it for(what was the rate you bought it at, as it is important(not really, but best) if you buy high sell low
say if you bought it at $1AUD=80yen, it would be best for you to sell it at $1AUD=less than 80yen, because you could make a profit dollar to dollar.
you could wait for it to fall, OR, if cash is need urgently, i find that Suncorp @ Qld is best for me. but as you are in Melbourne i do not have knowledge about it

Check out KVB Kunlun (Australia) – http://www.kvbkunlun.com/ , it's good for buying yen, it may be good for selling too.

Don't sell it in Australia - Money exchange is an absolute rip-off.

If you've got some friends going OS soon, swap it with them at a good rate. If you're at uni it will be really easy to drop.

    EDIT: 1300AUD is alot… hmmmm
