I saw this deal as well, but I did some research and it seems like the second sim slot is also used for microSD? Please correct me if I'm wrong.
I'm looking for a dual sim phone + separate micro SD slot, seems like there are not many on the market at the moment.

    • Yes I think you are right. I read the same today.

      • 2 sim and sd are scarce and either expensive or lack features , also 3g vs 4g in and slot.
went went with a 64gb phone so wasn’t need for sd card.

    • The Samsung Galaxy A9 Pro (SM-A9100) is a dual-SIM (4G/3G) phone with a dedicated microSD slot. It is intended for the Chinese market so doesn't come bundled with Google Play Services, but there are custom ROMs for it.
      Specs here

      • Thanks for the reply guys. :)
Yes, it is hard to find a dual sim + dedicated sd phone. Any other suggestions are welcomed.
I research and found Sony Xperia XA1 Plus does have it.

two best bets for sd slot and dual sim together are LG v20 (with bonus replaceable battery), and Moto G5+

        • @mtrkr:
Confirm Moto G5 Plus. I have it and happy enough.

        • The Oppo A73 (not the carrier branded ones) has two SIM slots plus a micro SD card slot.
          Also, Samsung A8 2018.

This has the same camera setup as the Nokia 8 Sirocco. I'm tossing up between this and the Xiaomi Redmi Note 5 which is reported to have an excellent camera also.

    • +4

I would pick Nokia based on design. Don't really like the Xiaomi designs.

      • +3

also band 28 and check if nokia is android one ….the redmi isn’t

    • Redmi Note 5 definitely doesn't have an 'excellent camera' lol.

      • It's the camera sensor same as galaxy s7 almost in part name.

        • wow 3 generations old

    • +2

even though I'm a fun of Xiaomi, I'd get this Nokia.

  • read several reviews that said the phone (and the new 8) are really buggy. Random app crashes and weirdness. Not what you'd associate with nokia - or with a pure android experience.

    • +1

Hopefully a software update fixes it, because I bought it Friday and am waiting for it to arrive :/

    • -1

depends which apps, the android one apps are suppported by google so,would get fixed, 3rd party apps like car jacker 2018 etc would be same issue on all phones ….. need to work with details not generalisations especially if the people complaining don’t what how things works or what else they are running.

look at how often you get bug fixes for the xiaomi home app, etc.

      • Googles Android apps are the same across all devices has nothing to do with Android one.

        • -1

that is what i mean, when people say app crashes, is it a google app or a 3rd part app …. not enough detail, and then which app.

      • The only app I read had issues was the Nokia Camera app, which occasionally got locked in the wrong orientation. Not a huge issue for mine and I will probably sideload the pixel camera app anyway.

    • +1

do you have links to these reviews? Every professional review I've read/watched have praised the 7+.

  • +6

3 of these, or iPhone X?

  • +7

i've got a nokia 8 since jan and been happy with it.

it's not able to compete with an S8, but it was $400 cheap at the time.

Camera is OK, get regular patches for android.

finger print sensor works well. battery life is great - full 12 hour day with usually plenty of juice left in the battery.

for the money it's a good mid range phone with some high end features with a few corners cut to keep the cost down.

  • This seems very expensive for the specifications.

Sharp Aquos S2 is less than half this price and has dual rear cam, NFC, IGZO panel and it looks better to me. HAs ~3000 mAh battewry though

    • +6

The appeal of this phone is really Android One.

      • +2

To be honest that's why I got it

      • and it might be on android P roadmap … some nokia’s are.

        • It will get P (and Q) for sure. With Android One you get 2 years of guaranteed upgrades and as it's stock Android it will get released very quickly. It's also in the Beta program.

        • It already has android P beta.

  • +2

Between this and Nokia 8 which would be better for camera? You can get Nokia 8 (not Sirocco) for same price grey import.

    • This has a better camera but the original Nokia 8 has a better processor and gpu

  • +1

Anyone know if Catch provide a tax invoice for this, even though it's an import? Good ol' tax time is coming up, nothing like killing off some GST. :)

    • Wouldn't they be obliged by law? They are registered for GST, I would imagine they can't get around that… could be wrong though. They have a live chat, ask them

    • +1

This is sold by TechWarehouse on the catch marketplace website, so you won't get a gst tax invoice but My order shipped and arrived very quickly.

  • +1

That's a great price, i was tossing up between this and the ZenFone 4 with Snapdragon 660, ended up with the Asus mainly because of the wide angle camera, have to say I'm very impressed with the efficiency of the SD660.

    • Nokia 7 plus is on P beta and android one, which is a huge benefit too.

  • +1

IS this the same phone global has for A$ 444

    • +1

      Yep, plus delivery.

    • +1

It even has the same “daul-sim” spelling mistake in the URL.

  • Tossing up between buying here and JB Hi-Fi; extract below from the terms and conditions is helpful; noticed also that 'TechWarehouse' on Catch is actually DWI Digital Cameras - see the returns tab here where it says - Warranty Claim Please click the following link for more details. https://www.dwidigitalcameras.com/terms-of-warranty
