    Thanks for listing Askhole :)

Wow, hell of a price difference between E27 and B22 versions.

I don't know if Bunnings sell them but B22 to E27 adapters are fairly cheap on eBay.

  • Hmm only 550lm though

What happen when the bulb is dead, is the speaker still working or they become useless?

    • +2

It’s led. It’ll take a long long time to die.

      • +5

The drivers will be the first to go.

  • how good is the speaker?

    • +2

Its about as good as a lightbulb with a speaker gets. In other words, not that great. The volume is okay but the sound quality is average at best. I wouldn't be buying it to replace a decent bluetooth speaker for example.

      • +8

thanks. im gonna buy just to prank my visitors.

        • +8

I'll be putting them in the bathroom at work, blaring "I know you're not taking a 29 minute shit, now get off ozbargain" every now and again.

      • … a feature that could be helpful when preparing for a romantic encounter.

        • +1

          I know right?
"Do not worry human female. I have prepared for this romantic encounter well in advance by investing in a Sengled wireless LED. Allow me to engage its dimming function while you prepare to receive penetration"

@outlander: Not unless you are GAY

        • @AshFon:

How do we know if we're GAY?

        • -1

@outlander: "..prepare to receive penetration" this are your words.

        • @AshFon:

I never said that. I think you're projecting

  • +3

    This looks very interesting..expensive though!

    • +2

Also gotta be the easiest security camera to steal.

    • +1

yeah i have that its not to bad, only issue is that it is heavy, and tends to sag on most flood lights

      • +1

Arlo Pro and Xiaomi yeelight combined but cheaper??

  • +5

The smart features only work with their own app so no Google Home or Alexa support on these.

    • +2

Very tempted but that's reason no go.

  • Can't believe Bunnings went wholesale with these rather than sticking with Osram Lightify. The Sengled look like shit, probably sound like shit, and are overpriced for what they are. Compared to the Sengled full price, better to go with a Hue White Ambiance and a Google Home Mini in every room…

FWIW, if someone actually went for Hues instead, you can of course hit up Officeworks for 5% off the Bunnings advertised price.

    • +1

I'm really happy with the Hue. Just set it up yesterday. Loads better than Yeelights and it's really quick with the Google assistant

      • +1

In what ways are they better than yeelights?
I have yees integrated to GH and Home assistant and have had no issues. Just curious on what I'm missing out on :)

        • +1

I found the Yeelights would often disconnect from the network and had to be power cycled often. This was about 9-10 months ago so they may have ironed out the bugs. I also wasn't a fan of the app and the delay in switching on and off the light.

    • Do you need to purchase the bridge for this? or just works out of the box with google home..

      • You must have an $89 bridge. They're expensive but work flawlessly (in my limited usage)

The bridge then connects up to 50 lights.

I have it with a dimmer switch and I am really impressed.

        • thanks for the info I'd skip this deal for now..make it more expensive. I used xiaomi already and no need for bridge.

  • On a side note, recently I purchased one of these sengled motion sensor light bulbs from bunnings (https://www.bunnings.com.au/sengled-a60-smart-sense-motion-s…) in order to replace my cheap Chinese ones (also motion sensor). Based some comments on OzB.

I was a bit surprised that although nearly 2x the price, the light bulb did not have a light sensor in them.
(meaning that they will turn on an off when motion is detected regardless of the time of day….although they have a nice feature where if you double 'click' you turn off the off function thus keeping the light on at all times)

Having said that, the quality of these bulbs is significantly better and the motion sensitivity is also more accurate than the Chinese one (from eBay) that it replaced.

    • sounds like exact the model Aldi was selling 3 weeks ago for only $12.99. Last year Aldi sold the motion sensor one with light sensor built-in so the light stay off during the day, I went for this year sale but was disappointed with their new cheaper version (design is hideously ugly too with sensor protruding outside of the globe, unlike last year when it was hidden inside the glass)

  • So wifi repeater works only when light bulb is on? Not very bright, is it?

    • +5

Smart bulbs are designed to be always on. When you turn it off through the app or Alexa or whatever, the bulb just turns off the LEDs, but it's still powered

  • Just did some research.
    Can't do multiroom with these.
    Just a heads up.

    • links please?

these ones were $25 at aldi about 6 months ago, great quality sound for the size

    • this or osram led ?

      same price i think

      • definitely led ones, but to achieve similar 1300LM light output will be around 12w in LED

    • +1

Personally, unless you have a pressing reason to use CFL globes, you should pass on this and get an LED equivalent.

Bunnings had 6 * 9w LED (Lucia Belle brand) for $15 or so a week ago..

      • I can't really think of a good reason to use CFLs anymore. Higher power consumption per lumen, fragile, contain mercury, take time to heat up, shorter lifespan, and often no cheaper than buying an LED.

There is maybe some justification if you need light dispersal upwards towards the ceiling, while most LEDs cast light in a 180 degree angle. But this is a pretty niche use case.

        • most led globe has a note saying - Only use in open fitting (no cover / enclosure)

          • @dcep: In most cases, it is still fine to use LED in enclosure…as long as it's not a tight enclosure it'll be fine. The glass enclosures I have are big enough that heat will disperse through the glass.

I've had LEDs running for years in enclosures. I'm not worried, they cost the same as CFL and if they last longer than CFL then bonus.

CFL never really lasted up to their lifespan.

        • Some people might like the 'retro' look.

      • +1

i can only think of 2 reasons

        1) most led globe has a note saying - Only use in open fitting (no cover / enclosure)

        2) low beam angle from led

        • Yep, beam angle can be an issue (depending on globe).

Though I'm pretty sure most CPLs also require open fittings.

    • Out of stock most of the stores

  • Thanks Op, bought speaker light but i dont have E27 holder, any deal on B22 to E27 converter?
