Guess some people are a little slow

      • -3

Yep… or maybe in too much of a hurry to type in a correct title…

Anyway, mods have now fixed the title as OP was too lazy to do it.

        PS4 Dualshock 4 Controller $49-$59 at Big W

Title is still misleading though as many people have mentioned below, it's not available online or most (if any) other stores…

  • +1

Not listed as $49 on the website so might be store specific.

  • +4

Perfect, need a new controller but was struggling to justify $90 for one.

    • -5

Costco were selling the for $65 for quite a while.

      • -2

Selling the for? What does that mean?

        • +1

Means he missed an M while typing.

        • -1

@Alzori: ah I see, doesn't explain why he referenced that price when it is more than the current deal.

        • +2

@slimdavy5: ah yeah, I think it was to say that while they haven't been $49 for a while, they have been readily available for a lot less than $90 for a long time.

Costco might not fit everyone's definition of readily available though.

          @slimdavy5:

Maybe read the comment I was replying to…

Try not to negative spin it, JV was saying, consider $65 as the standard price instead of $90.

i.e. Don't pick the most expensive retail price and use that for price comparison (or measuring how good the deal/bargain really is).

    • +1

People keep on neg voting JV's comment… sigh….

He was basically implying, instead of using the standard RRP of $90 to decide, consider using a more realistic actual retail price - i.e. Costco's price - $65. It is a valid point (it is helpful for impulsive buyers like me - still want one but not available at that price at my local BigW store).

      • People keep on neg voting JV's comment…

They're just jealous that I beat them to that comment…

They're probably also Dan Andrews supporters, so their votes don't really count for much…

        • -3

I love Dan Andrews, looking forward to him keeping "Ventnor/lobster" guy out of office at the next election :D

        • @slimdavy5:

          I love Dan Andrews

          We know… But don't tell his wife…

        • +1

@jv: ah a gay joke, how witty of you

        • +1

          @slimdavy5:

Up to you if you want to treat it as a joke…

          I always consider Dan a joke…

        • @slimdavy5: Or an affair joke? Or a play upon words joke? Its a joke not a… serious attempt to offend.

      • +2

I think people have other issues with JV.

        • +2

I find that hard to believe as I've not met any of them…

      • +1

(it is helpful for impulsive buyers like me)

Costco recently put their price up on these, but they were still cheaper than retail.

  • Dualshock 4 v1 or v2?

    • +6

      V2 - tag says PS4 WLESS CTRL v2

    • +3

Using enhance you can see V2

      • user name checks out…

  • cheapest price ever?

Are these in canberra stores can anyone confirm?

    • +1

Just had a look at the Canberra Centre store and they are $79

  • +1

It’s store specific. I called a few stores around Enoggera and they’re all $79

  • Nation~wide?

  • Looks like they are clearing all their gaming stock to end stocking it before the end of financial year.

  • Part of the days of play sale

  • Yeh part of days of play, these prices will be in loads of retailers over coming week.

  • Days of Play doesn't start until June 8th… ;)

  • No way the Days of Play sale goes that cheap, if they locally discount stock at all. You guys are delusional.

    • +1

Days Of Play is supposedly dropping the RRP for controllers down to $59.95 for that period. It's not beyond the realms of possibility that a retailer would throw in a 10 buck discount of their own on top.

That said, I don't think this is part of Days Of Play, it's more likely a store-specific stock clearance.

  • +1

Good timing for all the new Dark Souls remastered players.

Assuming a peak of broken PS4 controllers when they reach ornstein and smough boss :-!

  • Web site and current catalogue says $79. So definitely a store specific clearance. If it was Au wide i'd be jumping on it and getting one.

Not sure how cheap they will go during the upcoming Days of Play Sale

  • +1

It's funny that when you type "PS4 controller" into BigW's product search bar, you see Xbox One controllers being shown before PS4 controllers.

  • Called the Browns Plains store 6-7km away) and they have them at $78/$89. They said it could be a managers special for Calamvale

  • Any chance of price-matching?

    • Not unless you can show them a link to their website or a printed catalogue…

  • "Apparently they are the older version of the controller and the newer ones are $79.00 "

    • +2

The tags in the photo say V2, so it's definitely the newer ones

  • Has anyone been able to find this deal in any other Big W in Australia?

  • +2

For people wondering whether those are V1 or V2, there is a way to tell without opening the box or look at the label underneath for the black controller - though it is still better to check the product code / label.

The black controller, for V2, the buttons and the D pad have dark grey colour. V1, the buttons and the D pad are black.

Not sure about the white one and some of the other ones (and the labels on those don't specify V2). It could be a clearance of V1 controllers, but with some V2 ones added for that particular store.

  • +1

C'mon Big W, we need that $2 deal back again.

  • No Deal at Big W Highpoint Vic.

  • This is the normal price on eBay, where's the bargain?

  • -3

This is for Sony’s days of Play promo globally commencing 8th June.

These tickets were printed early by error. Prices not scanning anywhere.

    • So controllers will be this price from then!

    • -1

lol, I'll eat my hat if controllers are that cheap. It's not happening mate.

      • +1

Let us come back to this comment in 6 days

        • I'll be happy to be wrong! Apart from having to eat my hat.

        • @OfTheOverflow: Pictures of hat before please, and maybe pictures of mid digestion. No after pics please.

  • +1

There is heaps of stock at Big W Macquarie with the $49/$59 sign up.

    • Did anybody actually buy one at this price or are they refusing to sell them even though this price is shown on the ticket?

      • Got a red one from Calamvale yesterday. They had to price override as it isn't scanning at the $49.

    • Signs are gone.

  • The box shows the front of the controller as having the light slit. Easy way to tell.

  • +1

I just called Big W Calamvale and they advised me that the sale does not start till Thursday next week. Apparently he tried to contact OzBargain about it to trying let them know about this. Maybe that's why it's not scanning at the low price and has to be overwritten. I also asked if this sale we be store wide and he said yes it will. I'm not sure if he means national or state I did not ask.

    • Well storewide would mean their entire store haha

      • Hehe make sense. I meant I asked him if other stores will have it on sale.

        • In in the catalogue currently
          Starts the 8th June
