  • This would probably be alright for those on NBN FTTC or FTTP if you're after some thing basic and really cheap. But only need a free LAN port for your computer (LAN2/WAN would obviously be used to connect it to the FTTC/FTTP NBN connection box). The rest you could use WiFi for your laptops or tablet computers. Not compatible with FTTN.

  • doesnt have bandwidth control :(

You will find no $14.50 modem with bandwidth control. This modem was designed with basic features and hence the price. It's the base model.

It gets internet, and shares via Wifi. Dont expect anything else beyond that lol

Never say never. Somebody did! I think $15 with free delivery counted :-)

Could this be used to extend a wifi network? Don't get much signal in the bedroom.

  • Wifi security doesn't have MAC address filtering for those wondering.

But it's a good little back up modem to use for testing for those still on ADSL.

  • I have adsl+ and using nb604n modem . Can I get advice to replace with n300

  • This has an e-wan port so its sort of compatible with some types of nbn so not too bad…

However where consult at people throw their old modem routers into the battery recycle bin and you can get all number of basic n300 routers for free.

Not sure the e-wan port is that useful to be honest.
