[HACK] Free Slurpee with Every Large, Super or Big Slurpee Purchase

220

1 in 6 Large, Super or Big Slurpees win instantly. The rip and win stickers are somewhat see through, so you can win all the time! I havent paid for a slurpee for a while now. A similar deal like this was posted a while back, but that involved buying a large slurpee only (not super or big) and you could only win a super slurpee, chupa chup or kit kat chunky from the rip and win sticker. This meant that you could win either one of those prizes, but you would have to spend money on a large slurpee again to win another. This time you can buy either large, super or big just once and keep winning everytime you buy a slurpee.. which makes it free! (similar to the cadbury free bars last year)

Usually you can tell whether its a winner or not because you can sort of see the words 'Sorry, slurp again' or 'Free Super Slurpee', etc. The word 'Sorry' is the main giveaway on those labels to tell if it'll be a winner or not! I can make the words out on the pink label. If you look on the inside of the cup, the conditions on the back label that stays on the cup may blur the winning or losing words for you. So aim to read it off the pink label. If you cant tell, get a few cups out to compare words.. most of them will say 'Sorry, slurp again'.. so once you see something different, its a winner!

I think if you buy a large, you can win a large.
Buy a super, you can win a super.
Buy a big, you can win a big.
I think thats the ways it goes, i could be wrong.

Also thought i would add in that on Australia day, all slurpee profits are meant to be going to the QLD Premier’s Flood Relief Appeal. Its meant to be a scorcher in Sydney on Australia Day.. good day for a slurpee.. maybe even buy your first slurpee on Australia day so the profit will go to the Appeal and then you can get your free one on another day ;-) Thought it was a nice gesture of 7/11 to do that anyway.

EDIT: Just had a thought, if you pick up a winning rip and win sticker.. you may be able to use it straight away rather than paying for your first slurpee! And then next time you go in, pick up another winning sticker and get another free slurpee, and so on. But, i think for Australia day we should all pay for our slurpees.. leave the free ones for another day! ;-)

          Ozbargain Rules…

          Yep, it sure does!!! ;)

        • Lol are you the new post Nazi?

        • +6

new? I thought he's always been the post nazi?

Probably the highest rate of negative revokes in the whole of ozbargain. ;)

  • +5

Oh hey lol they started a new one. The last one was mentioned here and came with good response too. No idea why jv is jumping up and down and making a fuss, it's a way to get something free, it's not a scam, and this in a way is to make the favours turn in your favour to get freebies (cause not everything comes on a silver platter)

JV the old nestle bars 1 in 6 wins exploit was posted here and was a top bargain for awhile

This isn't a competition this is an exploit that results in a bargain for people hence it's valid for this

Ozbargain is condoning and promoting cheating. Such a great site.

    • +5

      Cheating is what it is.

      • +7

Nah, not cheating…just think of yourself as the Usain Bolt of the 7/11 slurpee event…you know you're better than the competition, just take pride in your victory! Don't hate the playa, hate the game!!! :p

        • +3

Ripping of (eventually) the other 5 in 6 chances of people paying and playing fairly. Its straight out cheating as they (presumably) printed only 1 in 6 cups as being winning ones, so eventually there will be only non winning ones (they will run out), many due to the cheating being promoted here on Ozbargain.

  • why did the other comps make it as bargains then?? I dont think its fair to be unpublished. Almost everyone can benefit from this unless 7/11 run out of cups!

Would it have made it if i had renamed the title?

  • sorry kimba, i just read the (original title) and unpublished it straight from the new deals forum. reinstated with note :)

    • +1

      Sweet! Thanks =)
Im glad a mod has now confirmed its not under the rules of a comp. Will my neg from JV be revoked?

      • Why should he.

        • -1

JV negged it on the basis it was a competition.. the mod had now confirmed its a hack, and can make it as a deal as most people will win unless 7/11 run out of cups!

      • hes on -5. i'll leave it at this stage.

    • +1

Davo1111, i just changed the title again because you cant win any 'prize'.. only slurpees ;-) The old slurpee deal you could win an ipad, this time round its slurpees only, but you dont have to purchase any to get a free one straight up =)

      • thanks kimba :)

  • +1

Haha, JVs getting all nazi on this. Why isnt there a 7/11 in SA?!?! no slurpee for I :(

  • I'm a little confused.

We are meant to grab multiple cups, and find the winner.

But like most 7/11's they can watch you doing it, so how exactly can you get away with it?

    • +1

I've never had a problem looking at multiple cups and finding a winner. I usually just pretend i dont like the look of a cup or pretend its dirty. Lol. Tonight i went into a 7/11 and found there was about 7 cups that had coke slurpee juice all over them. So i took a bunch out, put the 'used' looking ones aside and searched through the others. Trust me, its really easy to do and it doesnt take too long to find one. I've been getting free slurpees for a while now ;-)

      • Sounds doable, I'm going to try it! :)

      • -1

So why didn't YOU post this Cheat (Hack)?

        • what do you mean?

      • -2

As its too deep to reply below
        "what do you mean?"

"I’ve been getting free slurpees for a while now ;-)"

Well if you knew about this and think its legit then why didn't you post this as a "Deal" (as you said you've been doing it for a while including tonight)?

        • +7

To be honest, I've been forgetting to publish it.. its only been the past 2 weeks or so from what i've noticed. I've only just started posting bargains more regularly on ozbargain. Everytime i walk into 7/11, i dont think of ozbargain straight away. Sometimes you find a good deal, but dont always think 'oh quick, i better ozbargain that'. Would be nice if i did, but now i've started posting more regularly, im sure you guys will see more bargains i come across on here.
Or maybe i could use the excuse of: i've been worried about being hassled by some (cough cough) and the negs that follow ;-)

    • They say one in six and I think it is. I've never had to look at more than five.

  • +4

Competitions are not bargains unless there is a guarantee of a prize. For example, the summer rewind promotion is a competition but where everyone receives a prize upon entering 10 labels.

Everyone is right, the rule needs specifying.

On topic with the deal, I believe someone mentioned this hack somewhere else and I've noticed the 7/11s I go to have the Super Slurpees (the ones with the label) behind the counter. I tried giving them the free slurpee coupon upon joining the Slurpee club and it didn't work.

    • +3

For example, the summer rewind promotion is a competition but where everyone receives a prize upon entering 10 labels.

Lulz! It's like one of those skool sports carnivals where every kid gets a ribbon…even the ones that took a school term to run the 100m…yay! :p

    • -3

Its meant to be a "game of chance" not a "game of skill" but as you've changed it heading (a few times now) to its current "[HACK] Free Slurpee with every Large, Super or Big Slurpee purchase" your stating you WILL WIN and not by chance, hence your claiming its not a competition but will win, so to me its cheating and Ozbargain is promoting cheating. If it was a competition (as its meant to be) then this shouldn't be posted as a deal but as it will be popular Ozbargain mods let things slide to make this site seem as though good things as posted, even if it means ripping of companies and other consumers.

Its VERY SIMPLE this is meant to be a game of chance NOT skill (as in being able to read the non winning or winning cups), hence its cheating, its meant to be a competition, so not posted as a deal, yet the mods throw Ozbargain's rules out as this "deal" will be popular. I've seen other rules broken (like the Dell swarms being posted even though there not active). Ozbargain mods do what they like no matter about rules or integrity.

      • +4

There are many arguments to your standpoint Blah…in the end it all comes down to this:
        H.T.F.U! ;)

  • +3

Haha, I posted the last Slurpee hack. Didn't bother with this new one since they were back to back. I wonder why they let you claim the Slurpee size that has the rip 'n' win stickers though. I thought it was smart that you could only get free super sized ones when you purchased a large one. In the previous promotion. Oh well, I'm not complaining, I've gotten like 5 in a row. XD Mmmmm.

    • +1

Yeah thanks for that taniiah.. i definitely benefited from that last one! ;-)

  • +8

No matter how you look at this; it's gaining an unfair advantage over others. 7-Eleven's aim here is to generate interest and thus sales in their slurpees - not to give away food to greedy Ozbargainers. This site is called OzBargain for a reason - to inform people of cheap deals to help them save a little money. I don't think the spirit of OzBargain is to promote 'scams' - because that's what this is - taking advantage of 7-Eleven's ignorance of the 'security' of their cups. And to anyone who is going to twist my words or argue that this is really a bargain - look into your heart and think deeply for just a minute - if you owned a 7-Eleven franchise, would you enjoy people coming into your store, handling all your cups, and coming up to your counter to redeem what you and they know was unfairly gained? I wouldn't, and if you answer honestly, neither would you.

    • +1

If I were to posit the response "and the problem is?"; does that make me a sociopath??? ;)

Don't worry, the natural consequence is that all these free slurpees will result in mega ice-cream headaches for all who partake…karma! :p

      • Aside from the moral issue I previously discussed, have you considered the hygiene issues that multiple people handling cup after cup, then re-stacking those cups involves? Bacterial infections such as Listeriosis are spread by contact - pregnant women are very susceptible to this disease, and it's usually fatal to newborns (plus it presents as only flu-like symptoms in the mother). Sure, everyone's gonna be handling the outside of the cup, but that possibly fecally/Listeriosis/Mononucleosis/Enterococci/Staphylococci, etc infected cup is then going to be in direct contact with the inside of the cup underneath it. How many Slurpees are you going to buy your pregnant wife, elderly grandmother or young child this month? Let's hope someone posts an OzBargain for free alcohol handwash! Or perhaps a new thread with the title "One in 6 Slurpee cups infected with bacteria!"

        • +1

That's called drawing a very long bow dude! Stick with your original objection, others may argue but you'll at least get some respect for your moral stand.

Your latter weak justification for your moral outrage is laughable! ;)

    • +2

Righto TonyP. Ozbargain is promoting cheating.

      • +1

Yes, OzB is now in the axis of evil. Scotty, git them there wagons in a circle! :p

    • +6

I posted about this in the similar cadbury promotion and the gist of it is that you're basically stealing chances away from other people that expect to "win" free slurpees.

Plus expect over the next few weeks that even if you dont want to win a slurpee, expect that all the cups have been handled/oogled by at least 10 people.

      • Please people, DO NOT PLACE YOUR HANDS INSIDE THE CUPS OR AROUND THE RIMS FOR HYGEINE PURPOSES.. touch the bottom of the cup only! ;-)

        • Why care about morals or other people now (in a good way)?

        • Im a hygeine freak myself, simple!
Just to add, make sure your hands are washed or dettoled before beginning your search! ;-)

  • -5

These guys are franchised. You are basically stealing their hard earned dollars in a way.

    • In what way, pray tell??? :p

    • +6

7/11 obviously have a certain amount of cups they have put aside to win a free slurpee. The free ones will be won sometime during this promotion.. i have just given ozbargainers the heads up. Either way, they HAVE been budgeted for by 7/11.

      • +2

Aww kimba you gave away the moral of the story…I wanted KiwiRoo to have that epiphany all on his own! :p

      • I agree, it's not a promotion which is going to send a 7-11 shop bankrupt or something. Like kimba said they probably have a certain amount of cups that are put out and it's probably the same amount for each store, to prevent a random store receiving a large amount of winning cups and having to foot the bill for it.

    • +2

If you think about it, someone's gonna end up getting the free slurpee anyways whether it be earlier or later. So really, it's not costing them anymore than it would if this deal had not been posted.

      • +1

But your ripping off people who think they have a chance to win and if the cups have been "cleaned out" by cheating Ozbargainers then its not fair so it DOES MAKE A DIFFERENCE.

        • If you're going to buy a slurpee, you go in to buy the product for what it is.. not the chance to win!

        • +2

Yeh I actually agree with what you're saying. I do think it's unfair to the others who would now have a much smaller chance than the statistical 1 in 6… I wouldn't say this deal is ethical, but it's also not ripping the franchisees off as KiwiRoo is claiming above.

  • +3

Not a 'traditional' bargain, but not cheating either.
If a new range of scratchies came out that were slightly see-through, people would exploit it no doubt.
Would it be cheating to do so? No, it would be NSW Lotteries' fault for putting it out like that.

I feel like it would be cheating if it were a competition where an individual worked out a pattern of which product barcodes were winners and which ones weren't, and then told everyone about it to exploit. But this is something which is obvious enough that I'm sure multiple people worked it out on their own without much trouble. Just a bad competition really..

  • +5

Funny how some people grow a conscience regarding this hack, yet the same people don't even blink when a price for, say, a Blu-ray box set gets posted online or in a catalogue which is clearly a mistake, yet try and do the most to benefit from it, and cry foul when it doesn't go their way. Both are clearly mistakes - the Slurpee one due to manufacturing, and the catalogue due to a misprint.

  • +4

Will they never learn? Oh well, can't complain.

A lot of stores near me started keeping their Large cups behind the register to stop people abusing the system last time. I wonder if the same thing will happen again.

  • +9

Why not just walk out without paying? Not really any different. Said by someone who has bought about 20 Slurpees lately, and won none. Which one of you stole my god damn slurpee??
