E-Global Warranty?

Hi all,

My HTC EVO 10, purchased end of April this year died on Sunday. Was using the phone and then the screen started to get hundreds of vertical coloured lines which then turned black and screen is now completely black. Phone then got to hot too touch.

Lodged RMA with E-Glaobal with photo of phone as required. They replied back that i need to take a video of the issue and upload it to google drive etc. I replied that its the same as the photo, dead nothing. No answer.

Should i just cop it and buy an Australian delivered phone?

  • I'd pursue it. But yeah, never again with eglobal. I'm glad I got my money back from eglobal a few weeks back. I suspect they are selling refurbished or returned phones as brand new.

    Something us ozbargainers need to consider when buying slightly older and discounted phones I think.

    I've been through similar issue with Banggood. They wanted a video of an item that was DOA. I sent them the video showing it wouldn't turn on. They sent a replacement.

    Do the same. They have asked for you to follow a process even if it seems dumb. If you dont follow it then its 100% clear you wont get a refund. If you execute everything they ask you then the onus is back on them.

  • I can see why they'd ask for a video: a photo is relatively easy to modify, and there's no proof you even tried to turn it on.

    It's not like a video is a huge burden anyway.

  • I have yet to get back to them with a faulty phone. I've bought about 4 phones from them now (only 1 was for myself). Good to know this is what needs to be done. I'm with the others. What have you go to lose? Make a video of it and see where it gets you.

    It will be a long battle to get a remedy, but pursue it until you get a resolution you're happy with.

    Then never deal with eglobal again.

    Once you've dealt with their warranty process, you'll have no problems abiding by that rule.

  • ok sent a video of the phone yestereday.

    Today i received a request for another video showing the phone connected to a charger and it not working.

    This is going to be fun.

    They want me to send the phone and all contents back.

    Also that if the phone has a PIN that they cannot work on it.

    My phone has a PIN, but i can't factory reset as i cannot see the screen as it is complety blank.

    Any ideas?
