Extending Wi-Fi via Powerline Adapters

Hi guys,

Just moving into a new house and trying to setup a good wifi system.
The modem is quite far away from the rest of the house and I currently have TP-Link TL-PA7010P KIT AV1000 Gigabit Passthrough Powerline Starter Kit. It basically gives a connection point direct to the router via the powerlines.

What I want to know is if there are any other devices such as TP-Link TL-WPA7510 KIT AV1000 Gigabit Powerline AC Wi-Fi Kit, and whether this would connect to my TL-PA7010P? Or is there other brands that would connect straight to the TL-PA7010P without the need for another plugin hub to the mains at the base unit and running 2 seperate systems.

Cheers for suggestions/help.

  • Not sure on compatibility between wifi and non-wifi powerline kits, should work in thory, but dont know for sure. Your cheapest option would be to just get a cheap router that you can put in access point mode on the end of the powerline point.

    • Yeah, I've been told by a few others that It should work in theory. However It'd be a waste getting the kit pack when I'd only need the wifi part. Can't seem to find it solo.
