  • Would it be easier to unlock the nokia 3310. If yes, could replace my NBN landline :P

    • Officially: https://www.vodafone.com.au/support/device/unlock

If you’ve had your device for less than 6 months there’s a $50 unlocking fee.
If you’ve had your device for over 6 months there’s a $25 unlocking fee.

Unofficial unlocking appears to be ~$25 at the moment

  • Paid 40 for that Nokia late last year. (profanity) love it.

Won't do the full post because I'm busy at the moment, but I will say to go download the MeBoy GB/C emulator, playing DKC on a 3310 is hauntingly beautiful.

What can you use Skype gift cards on, anything else then making calls?

    • How long does the Skype credit last for once added to your account?

      • +1

Forever… I've had credit in mine for about 4 years now. Charged up witb $25 still have $17 left. You get locked out after a period of inactivity though but it's easy to log back in.

  • yeh that 3310 scratches the massive nostalgia boner

  • Someone mentioned last time that we can use Skype for Office 365 but that plan is not available anymore and I couldn’t use my Skype credits that I bought last time, still have over $100 credits and don’t know what to do with them.

  • I tried to buy Skype gift cards last time they had a discount… no dice, three woolies had zero stock. I find it useful when travelling, some places I can get Wi-Fi, not phone network access. That's maybe 50c a year though…

Go down to coles and grab some Skype cards to purchase at woolies. Some of the checkout people don’t care if you ask them

      • that's genius, never thought that

  • My local Woolies (Belmont WA), has plenty of stock, but they're difficult to see on the display stand amongst the mobile phone cards because Skype cards now feature pics of happy phone users on them, rather than the plain blue and pink of the older cards shown in the Woolies adverts.
