For reference with cheapest reasonable comparison parts, even forgot keyboard and mouse so difference would be less.
So 40 or less bucks for postage, assembly and warranty..
    Worth it.

    • Is this better value: https://www.ebay.com.au/itm/New-Dell-Inspiron-Gaming-Desktop…
New Dell Inspiron Gaming PC Desktop Intel i7-8700 16GB RAM 128GB SSD GTX 1060(m.ebay.com.au) $1519.2 or $1424.2 (ebay plus)

      Intel® Core™ i7 8700 (6-Core/12-Thread, 12MB Cache, up to 4.6GHz Boost)
      16GB (2x8GB) DDR4 at 2400MHz
      128GB M.2 SATA SSD (Boot) + 2TB 7200RPM SATA HDD 6Gb/s (Storage)
      NVIDIA® GeForce® GTX 1060 with 6GB GDDR5

      • I'd probably prefer a bigger SSD, even if it's only for boot. 128gb is almost unworkable after formatting and OS/bloat.

    • Nice job. I would argue you could potentially go with AMD CPU/GPU and get something cheaper, faster and with more memory but Alienware…

I really was considering this one back then but already have a rig…

  • you can always ask Dell AU (ebay) to create a private listing for you with more ram and/or extra warranty.

    • This is good to know if it works? 16GB RAM, possibly 2TB HDD is all I think is needed

  • Is this Alienware worth $400 over msi Nightblade? https://www.umart.com.au/MSI-Nightblade-MI3-012AU-Intel-i5-7…

    • +2

      The one you refer to is: MSI Nightblade MI3-012AU Intel i5 7400 GTX1050TI/4G W10Home 8G 1TB/128G SSD
      So the differences are
      *CPU: i7 8700($410) vs i5 7400($244) - $166
      *GTX 1060 6G($379) vs GTX1050TI/4G($238) - $141
      *chipset: z370m($249) vs B250($115) - $134

Total price differences so far: $441

      *256G SSD vs 128G SSD+1TB HDD
      *Mouse+keyboard vs none
      *Alienware vs MSI
      Maybe worth $400 more…

    • Even if the spec is exactly same, the brand value of Dell will beat MSI shit out

  • Brand Value! Alienware is a good gaming PC brand
