Yea, the xiaomis on ebay plus is better

In terms of price? The Tronsmart is a faster power bank because of QC 3.0, FCP and VoltIQ (5V/2.4a). The Xiaomi 10000mAh 2S is only QC2 and 5V/2.4a only.

    • Nah this version is comparable to the Xiaomi Mi pro 10000mAh versions and they are significantly more

  • Unless a power bank does power delivery i would not recommend it to charge a switch.

For USB-C PD in ~10,000mah size, you only have one option - the new Switch branded Anker charger. That charger costs $70USD!

Also, even though it is 13,400mah, because it charges at a higher V, it actually charges the switch the same number of times as the 10,000mah Tronsmart Presto (USB-C version) due to conversion inefficiency.

If you have the money to burn, sure, get the Anker. It is a better charger for the Switch, for sure. But for most people, the Tronsmart Presto (USB-c version) is probably the better option in the 10,000mah range, until more PD options are released. (For 20,000mah, then for sure, I would recommend USB-C PD.)

But I would recommend the USB-C version of the Tronsmart Presto, not this one,

      Fwiw, I have the ZMI 10 QB820 (20,000mah PD), and the Tronsmart Presto (10,000mah non-PD USB-c).

      • I bought a switch last week, then saw this prime deal today. Thought it would be perfect for travelling. Will this work or should I send it back?

It will not be the most effective in charging your Switch (increasing the battery %), but it will definitely extend your playing time or charge the Switch while in sleep mode.

USB-A will supply the Switch with 7.5W max. If the Switch is in sleep mode, basically all of that will go towards charging the battery. However, while the Switch is being used, the Switch will use up some/all of that power. Eg. If it is using 6W to run, then the net charge will only be 1.5W. The maximum power usage of the Switch is 8.75W, in which case the battery will actually still deplete rather than charge, although at a much slower rate (-1.25W) than if it wasn't plugged in at all.

So this will charge the Switch fine in sleep mode, and will extend playing time but charge the battery very slowly (or decrease if Switch is running intensively) while you are playing and charging.

For comparison, a USB-C charger will supply the Switch with 10W max - this will charge the Switch regardless of whether you are playing (will charge the battery with 1.25W-10W, depending on usage drain). A USB-C PD charger will supply 18W max - in sleep mode, it will charge the battery at 10-12W, but while playing, it will supply the full 18W, so even with maximum drain of 8.75W it will still charge at 9.25W.

          To summarise:
USB-A supplies 7.5W max - ok charge in sleep mode, slow/negative charge while playing
USB-C supplies 10W max - great charge in sleep mode, slow charge while playing
USB-C PD supplies 18W max (10-12W in sleep mode) - great charge in sleep mode AND great charge while playing
Maximum drain of a running Switch is 8.75W

All of them will charge the Switch fine in sleep mode, and all will extend your playing time - it just depends how fast you want to charge and whether you need to charge the battery whilst playing.

  • Is a great deal but only to those using qc 3.0. Plus xiaomi is doing promo this week so the deal came early.

Hmmm…. I think we'll need to tune down a bit on this Amazon Prime sh*t.

There are tons of 10000 Mah power banks on eBay for practically the same price, without requiring to have Amazon Prime subscription.

I'm really not sure we should keep sorting by increasing price everything that AmazonAU sells and post them here one by one…

yet its fine to repost whatever xiaomi trash is 3% off this week?

  • Thanks OP got one.
