    What is your position?

    • I sell new products.

      • +1

I’m interested in some products, what do youhave to sell?

        • +10

some really low interest bearing accounts if you're interested.

        • +1

          @kujikabuto123:

Why would anyone be interested in low interest accounts?

        • +4

          @cloudy: i think that's the joke ;)

        • +14

          @cloudy:

Presumably they've had low interest in their accounts on account of their low interest.

        • +2

@55: I think OP is just being honest. Nobody here would be interested in the products OP can sell us.

        • +2

          @kujikabuto123: not interested

    • Have CBA ever been hacked by Russian bots?

      • The internet banking has never been hacked

        • +29

Could I place you on hold while I look up a good question?

        • +7

          @Scrooge McDuck:

Thanks so much for your patience. Could I start with your full name, address and date of birth please?

        • +2

That's a very specific answer. But has any part of the bank been hacked?

        • -3
        • +1

@fallout: CBA system wasn't hacked or compromised. Their own account was hacked or compromised into. Most likely visiting shady sites eventually downloading a malicious virus. If the system was compromised then there would be a whole lot more people jumping up and down at the time and it would be on the news. Also isn't there some kind of obligation to report all hacks to the government when they known or discovered which would be made public like the recent PageUp recruitment system compromise?

        • +1

…. that the banks are aware of

        • @cuy:

CBA cards are being hacked constantly. Card fraud is huge, google it.

        • @happirt: ssshhhh.

      • CBA has a team of hackers, that tries to hack all digital channels. Their job is to find vulnerabilities in the system and report back to the responsible tech teams.
There have been many attempts, but it has never been hacked.

        • Never been hacked? How do you know? There is no official

Just because one team cannot succeed, doesn't mean it cannot happen, or doesn't.

Remember the Internet has many teams hacking all channels all the time.

In fact, it is standard practice within bank systems to design around the premise that the network is full of hostile parties.

Of course, trust has to be established to do pretty much anything, so this is not a solution in itself in any way.

That said, other banks, even smaller ones, have (far) worse problems and unmanaged challenges than CBA. Their systems aren't too bad (for a major Aussie bank).

        • I believe there are also other types of hacking such as social hacks. Gaining physical entry to sites, phishing emails, etc.

  • How much do you earn?

    • over 50k, under 70k

      • +91

        60k?

        • +3

          username checks out

      • Personal Banker?

  • How old are you?

  • tips tricks to get approved by CBA credit card team?

    • high income, low expenses. simple as that really. No real way around it unless you lie about your day to day expenses.

  • +49

what kind of car should a graduate cba employee drive?

    • +8

I know this one, follow the Westpac guy, cant go wrong……..

    • None, they commute to work on the train, the free parking is for upper management.

  • +5

I'm a Can't Be Assed employee as well!

    • +1

Inb4 OP is your manager…. and realizes how much you post here.

  • what interest rates do employees get charged for home loans?
can employees pass loans through a lot easier than general public for themselves?

    TIA

    • don't know the exact rates, but they are discounted.

And no, they are under the same criteria as everyone else.

      • although its different from your retail, i know corporate mid senior gets pretty darn good rate plus less deposit required. it ticks after 1 or 2 years of employment - decent pay.

      • well they don't have to pay LMI even when they borrow more than 80%

    • +2

Store employees get a discounted rate, however that discounted rate isn't necessarily the best rate in the market.

    • Discount is 0.87% for Variable and 0.25% for Fixed on standard rates. Approval process is same for everyone. Even LMI is not waived for staff.

      • +2

I've got a bigger discount than that on my current CBA loans and i don't even work there

  • A applied for a credit card and received a declined email but then a second email a few days later asks me to specify where i want the loan to go. I was amazed i got approved, though happy. Was this a glitch?

    • It would've declined at one stage - but could be a bank error and was rectified

    • +1

      In your favour!

  • +8

When will you start answering questions?

  • +2

Did you rort the dollarmites scheme?

  • +3

Has the Royal Commission into the banking sector and what has been uncovered hurt the CBA customer base?

    • honestly, not really. Don't see that much change in customers perspective besides a cheeky comment here and there.

      • -2

How naive. I work in the financial planning industry and we are seeing customers of ALL banks looking around for independent advice at the moment. Customers may not appear disgruntled on face value, but they certainly are.

        • +6

OP simply answered a question from their perspective focusing on certain products. As you mentioned, they are disgruntled but are many of them moving their loans, etc. yet? We are not even at the state where recommendations/changes have been proposed yet… likely to occur then.

  • +8

do you drive 80k car ?

    • +7

      Stop it

  • +4

Mmmm fresh account starting with an AMA as a CBA employee, sounds like sabotage

    • +2

If its sabotage then they are doing a bad job as all the questions have been answered nicely without any trolling or malice.

      • Good! : )

        • +2

you guys haven't asked the right questions yet.

    • Confirmed, this is a CBA employee.

  • -2

    Why?

  • Is the Wealth Package a gimmick? Why is CBA stopping the Amex program?

    • +2

definately not a gimmick - the home loan % discount alone is worth it - and it also waives off any annual fees for a credit card.

    • +4

CBA is the last of the Big 4 to cancel the Amex program. Blame the Reserve Bank of Australia.

  • +2
  • What kind of bonus can you get for your selling of products?

    • we dont get bonuses for selling products really, and the bonuses are bad anyway

      • I was under the impression that you don't receive commissions but have a set target bonuses.

  • +6

Also, are you inspired to cheat customers for financial gain given your new CEO is one of the chief architects of the cheating and was subsequently promoted to CEO.

    • +11

      I love customers like you

  • Have you ever been insulted in public for being a CBA employee?

    • nope

      • Do you wear your CBA pin in public?

        • +1

no, but I have a CBA lanyard which I make sure to hide when out in public, I always have that thought in the back of my head that I may get abused lol.

  • +4

When will Apple Pay be rolled out (if ever…)?

    • -1

no word on that - and to be honest don't think it will because ANZ might have an exclusive partnership (not 100% sure on this though)

      • +9

ANZ might have an exclusive partnership

        What?

ING have it, Macquarie have it, Bendigo bank has it, AMEX does, Citibank does… There's no exclusivity there.

I used to bank with Commonwealth and changed to primarily with ANZ. Their service(and app especially!!) sucks compared to Commonwealth and I'd love to come back. I realize it may not be your area but if you can feed this back on your internal systems that people want apple pay and they want some sort of announcement as to why it's taking ages. I don't know if you have an internal company page that you can ask things on e.g Facebook for business but I'd love to know the reasoning.

Is Apple charging you a shit load in fees and you're negotiating? Fine. But with no word every time it's asked in your forums or on twitter or facebook is just aggravating.

This goes for you as well NAB and Westpac.

        • The big banks wanted to negotiate with Apple to get better conditions but I believe it was disallowed due to regulations around competition, that didn't happen and what do you know? CBA, NAB and Westpac team up and create Beem It!

        • Bendigo Bank has Apple Pay as well.

      • +1

It's better to say "you don't know" if you can't answer.

        • good point sir. my apologies pls

  • did you previously work at nab?

  • +1

Why does CBA charge exorbitant spreads on their retail FX transactions when their actual market risk is minimal?

    • not exposed to that sector so cannot answer this.

    • +1

      he retail bank m8.

    • +2

      Because they can…

      Same with most developed countries.

Higher margins are also needed to make it worth while

You'll note developing countries offer way better rates, thats because the small margin they make is a big profit for them

      • other banks here (not the big4) are much better for this.

    • so that they can consistently make 12 billion profit…
in business term (slang)- consistently generate moderate (i.e high) return for shareholders

  • +3

How can I and my bikie mates launder money?
