From what I can see this deal started this morning on their website, but just on the gaming pages which is strange.

The 3DS comes in Aqua Blue and Cosmo Black. The 3 bonus games you get to choose from are Rayman 3D, Raving Rabids 3D, and Ghost Recon: Shadow Wars 3D. There also appears to be Free Delivery and they have the release date listed as the 31st March. I don't know how the first 200 works (it doesn't say) so I'm assuming if you want your choice of game/colour to get in really quick. Was black and Raving Rabids 3D for me!

This is my first post so don't flame me if I'm light on detail, not sure what I should be posting.

          I tried CC but some error pops up. I'm sure they're still there otherwise the site would say they're sold out right? Because it just keeps taking me back to the payment tab and doesn't say they're sold out.

      Panama, we're presently looking into why this was the case through your order. We think it has to do with a corrupted session not refreshing correctly. It's a strange one.

    Good news, it worked. So those of you that want in, quickly get one since the offer is still going. Firefox was the problem for me. Internet Explorer worked just fine with the site.

    Why is everything 3d now? does things looking real make everything cooler now? i mean, if I wanted to strain my eyes watching something, i'd sit closer at the cinemas :P

    High5 or HIGH5 codes not working, tried in both IE and Firefox with and without multiple items in the cart. Are there any other coupoun codes that would work?

    I think corporations who intentionally disable the use of discount codes on hot ticket items are the greedy ones. Such practices put me off purhcases which is exactly what this did

      This already was a huge bargain in the first place. They ran out of the initial '200' run, and then decided to extend it for another '500' just for people who missed out. However the coupon was waived. It's still $100-110 cheaper than retail.

      when the code was entered it was mentioned that it was for people who had actually written a review for something, so it shoudln't have been able to been used by anyone without a review in the first place.

    I am not arguing with you that it isn't a good deal, it still is. However, I think it is important that people know that the codes outlined in previous comments has been intentionally disabled by Dick Smith, which put me off my purchase.

      It's an interesting point you make. However, we didn't post the code, and the code was a low volume code for customers who had written a review on the website so we are perfectly within our rights to close the 'loop hole'. For all those who used the code, we will honour the price they've paid.

      What you don't want as ozbargainers is organisations not putting good value deals forward for the majority of customers to purchase. I'll guarantee you won't see the 3DS at $299 with a bonus game probably until at least Christmas. That's alot of playing time for early adopters to get the value out of their purchase before the majority of customers buy at that price.

          If it happens with a bonus game etc, send us an email through the 'contact us' area of the website. There are no guarantees in life when it comes to future pricing, but I'm sure if you raise it with us we'll offer you a coupon code for the difference or something.

    Got one from the extended offer… didn't get to use the voucher but oh well. 1 of 700 people ain't bad. Has any other place made any comparable deal?

      At this point, it's obvious they didn't limit it to 200 + 500… they've been using the old-as-the-hills 'while stocks last, limited stock' ploy to pull people in. And it worked, I'd be surprised if they sold less than 10,000 units yesterday alone.

        Strand, miles off. Stock is about to start running out on most sku's probably in the next hour or so. There was a small buffer beyond the 500, we wanted to ensure we accounted for people who tie up stock but weren't legitimate shoppers (o/s fraud etc) as it takes us a day generally to validate some of these.

          Oh for sure, I'm not complaining at all. In fact, I commend them. This promotion was a huge coup, and they pretty much ate every other retailers' lunch before the thing even launched. It's by far the best deal out there and will probably remain so until launch date.

    Hope the DSE rep is still here. When i ordered mine with the code yesterday and checked my transaction this morning, i was charged $298+14.90 instead of $283. It was as if the discount code acted as a surcharge. I've sent an e-mail along with pictures to prove it. One of the weirdest occurences I have ever witnessed. Hopefully it will be resolved :)

      Panama, if you turn on private messages we'll send you an address to send some details so we can investigate and get back to you. We've identified a bug if a customer orders pre-orders in the same transaction across different products. Weirdest thing I've seen in my life. Working on a fix now.

    Top praises to DSE for the great deal. Just had one question about the one per customer limit. I purchased one myself during the initial 200 and was extremely happy with my buy.

    I told a friend who was interested but didn't have a credit card or Paypal to buy one through their own account. Just wondering if I would have been able to buy another one of these for him since the 'one per customer' limit wasn't there the day before.

    The deal will probably be over by the time a rep replies but just want to know for future reference more than anything.

      If you are exploiting it with a large volume of orders we will automatically highlight you and reject your orders before we take a full authority on your credit card / paypal. There are plenty of people who try to place 5 - 10+ orders etc. If you want to buy an extra one for your friend, we're not going to highlight it. If you have any issues, send us a post reply.
