[eBay Plus] Samsung 128GB Evo+ MicroSD Card UHS-I 100MB/s - $31.30 Delivered @ smooz-gamer eBay

230
PENNY5

$1.90 more than the previous deal but it's back in stock now.

For those wondering - this card works perfect in dashcams. I've had one in my Blackvue DR650S dashcam for 12+ months and it's never had any issues.

However make sure you format it every now and then to clear any errors. I use guiformat-x64 using default settings.

Any one spot deal for the Samsung PRO Endurance SD cards or Sandisk High Endurance cards that are designed to be used for dashcam / IP camera video recording without voiding the warranty?

they seem to never go on sale.

I've spotted a few 32GB options on ebay for around the $20 dollar mark. but unfortunately nothing beneath that price point.

  • Sounds like a gamble to use these cards with a Thinkware F770 dashcam.

Does anyone have consistent, successful experience with this combination?

According to this site anyway they recommend Transcend High Endurance. and dissuaded people from using Sandisk Ultra's, which admittedly the most common SD cards to have shown on deals.

I've had two failed 64GB Ultras which have died in dashcams. As for Samsung, you'll probably want a Pro series as they use MLC memory which has better error correction.

      • Yeah, I have a couple of the Trancends and they've been fine. Would have been happy to have a couple of 128Gb cards so that the changeover time was doubled.

128GB is overkill for a dashcam, unless you're recording at 4K (which is again, overkill). I use 32GB cards on both my cams.

    • +4

Some people require constant footage recording and don't want the footage overwritten after running low on space, so 128GB is a perfect size for 1080p/4K recording. Also, every detail matters when it comes to insurance purposes.

Larger means you have the record in history longer. There may be an accusation of an incident or a public request for anyone who witnessed something on your route at a later date.

It also means each flash cell gets less write cycles, though a lot of the burnout issue can be the filesystem tables regardless.
