Hi

Anyone who got Surface Pro 2018, what would be the cheapest solution for video out to HDMI? Other than having a surface Pro dock and the type of cable you bought?

    I have the previous version, but used a Mini-display port to HDMI cable from Kogan

        I only use for video but should work if your monitor has speakers (or connecting to TV).
        Display port is supposed to support audio.

        I bought one from ebay. Can confirm it does audio+video.
        Depending on where you're using it get a longer enough cable.

    I got my Surface Dock from Amazon just for your reference. I think Amazon Global still ships and even with import duties, still cheaper.

    https://www.jbhifi.com.au/xcd-essentials/xcd-essentials-mini… (or a cheaper generic). Cable and the Surface Pro's port supports audio and video.

    It's the same cable for a MacBook Air, if that makes it easier for you.

    These days wouldn't you try and "cast" it to the monitor through Chromecast or similar?
    Yecch - Cables these days are so cabley

      These days I want to play 4k contents on my surface pro to the TV or as my second monitor.

    or just get a USB 3 dock - doesn't have to be the official surface pro dock
