So I just walked into Bing Lee Chatswood and found its having a closing down sale (last days, all stock must go, clearance prices etc) and to be honest, I'm very surprised!
Since when have they been going to close? They were very healthy (and profitable I thought).
This is just giving the green light to JB now to charge what they want as all the competitors are leaving!
EDIT: I have just seen that a pop up store is "coming soon" to Chatswood Chase, maybe they are possibly relocating?

There are many JBs that don’t sell fridges and washing machines. Only ‘JB Home’ stores sell them.
Probably because I'm from a place with only home stores.
But seriously does OP think people will say oh it's too much trouble to comparison shop outside Westfield for my new fridge so I'll walk over to JB? Which in the case of that Westfield JB, doesn't sell whitegoods.
Anyway I should take a look at that BL soon in case there is anything worthwhile.
The thing is though Chatswood is such a major hub and the only things in walking distance are 2 JB stores.
While there is TGG at Chatswood & Atarmon these aren't near anything, be it the train line, the competitors or the action really in general.

@greenpossum: well this is Chatswood we're talking here. People a lot of the time seem to walk into a store and just make a decision there. I know it's a bit of a generalisation but it's also true for quite a lot of people there.

The ones at Fairfield and Cabramatta have closed in recent years (Bing Lee's first store was in Fairfield)
The Chatswood bing lee have always been a shady bunch, let’s hope they’re under new management if relocating.
The new store is meant to open in early 2019, in the meantime there is a popup store.

Highly doubt it would be the first because it'll leave them no time for construction otherwise.
Correct, the new store opens in Chatswood Chase in early 2019. The reason they're doing the pop-up store is because of the amount of work to do at the new site.
I guess that's making a lot of sense now that I think about it.
JB Chase is much bigger, but people will see Bing Lee as soon as they walk in. Great spot for potential growth.
Didn't know JB was into whitegoods.
