Get Fit and Save Money. Save 50% on The Start-up Fee until 28 February

22

It's well into the new year and I wanted to feel great by exercising. I walked passed YMCA Docklands today and saw that they have a special on their memberships. Will visit the centre tonight for more details.

Looks like it's a saving of 50% on the start-up fee when you join by 28 February.

you don't need to pay to exercise.

    • Sounds like a cheesy line for a gym ad. I'll leave it at that.

no where on website can you find out a) what the actual 'full' start up fee is, b) what their membership fees are as an ongoing basis, or c) any conditions on membership whatsoever.

most reputable gyms will have terms conditions and pricing available online. this website just says "call us" for more info. so basically "50% off" means nothing, because they can set the price after the fact anyway.

neg vote because they can quote whatever they like as a promo "50% off", "75% off", "95% off" and just adjust their price when you call…. not really a bargain, just a marketing gimmic to have you call in the first place.

    • Agreed. No idea how this thread hasn't been deleted by mods yet.

  • Sounds good man, let us know the details when you find out.

  • I don't know how you can save money by signing up to pay for something.
If it was 6mths free gym membership then you could save by switching gyms, but if you're already at a gym then you're not saving cos you have to pay a joining fee.
And if you're not already at a gym then you can't save anything unless they pay you to join the gym.

  • other ymca gyms are usually $99 to join, then pay as you go… (around $35 a fortnight)

  • Start up fees, admin fees, etc are completely arbitrary (like flagfall fees on mobile calls and car dealership fees)! If they don't show their prices they can just make it up via the regular membership fee or some other made up fee.
