I have been looking for this model past couple days and finally managed to get for that price at the jb hi fi city store, melbourne. The store didnt have any stock but they are ordering one for me. Should receive it in 4 days time. I couldnt find anything cheaper than this price.

also got two extra 3D glasses included from Harvey Norman

but why would you bother with the extra warranty? it means spending more money?!
That price is extremely cheap, I got a demo model series 8 for 3400 a month ago from them.
i tried to haggle the price to $2500 without the extended warranty but couldnt. I dont think it matters too much for the retailer as far as the extended warranty goes as they dont pay for it i guess. It is just a bait (i think) to upsell the product.
I have also been to harvery norman in qv but couldnt get the price lowered than $2900. We bought loads of new LED tvs for my work place through good guys. So i got my manager to contact the store manager directly for a good price on this tv, but all he offered was $2850.00 with 2 sets of 3d glasses.
btw, this model will no longer be produced and there are not many around in stock.
This is the same TV you could get for $2380 just after Xmas, and that included a bonus 22" LCD by redemption (think that was $49 postage and handling).

The U55C7000 is a great TV and has won a lot of awards, but I suspect better prices are to be had. They certainly should be.
SOmeone like Eljo might even run them out at <$2000 when the new model is released.
Gutted I bought a Samsung LED tv for about 3.5 large 4 months before they bought out the 3D ones. Thought I was getting the latest sh*t. Fail.
I can get the Samsung 7series 55” LED 3D, PVR, Internet TV for $2100 at JB Blacktown, however they are asking $400 for an extra 4 yrs warranty. Anyone got a better price on the LED?
isnt this tv like the 2nd best in it's product line?
