    is there one in melbourne?

Interesting food, but for those that have never been, be aware that their food is about twice the price it should be.

So, essentially with this coupon you're paying what it's worth? :)

      • +17 votes

Nope, because the food is half the quality one should expect

I've never had it here, is it really that bad?

Had it a lot in the UK and loved it, but the pricing here has put me off so far. Got no excuse now. Good deal op.

I remember enjoying it back in the UK. back home it wasn't as good. been a few times at different locations, perth, syd, melb. nothing to write home about. coupon is good to kill off any good memories of this place.

The food is pretty average. Not "terrible" like people are saying, but just not worth the money you pay thats all.

I'm all about paying good money for good food, but the food here is pretty plain average. A tad expensive, but I guess your paying for the atmosphere and lovely brand they have establish all over Australia.

Imo my corner store makes better food for $6.50, and I'm full. But the food at wagamama is not worth the price.

It's pretty much 50% off. Very good deal considering I've paid for vouchers like this one from other daily deals websites

Great find. I would recommend dish number 76 to any first timers. Chicken Tama Rice, lovely.

I go for the noodle and stay for the beer.

Why anyone would choose to dine out at Wagamama is beyond me.
Their food is completely overpriced and tastes like rubbish. To top it off, there's the terrible service that comes with it as well.

    Yum!!

Informative review. Doesn't really apply to the 2 for 1 deal, does it.

Let me put it this way for people who havent been to Wagamama. I can make 2 minute noodles that taste better. Their serving size is minimal two pieces of meat min a dish. The soup tastes like water. It is instant noodles x5 on the price. Service sucks. If you have tasted decent food in your life you will be severely disappointed. I am surprise the business hasnt failed yet guessing people dont care about getting their money's worth. I also gave them constructive criticism 1 year ago and they have yet to reply.

Posters saying "food is rubbish" and "I can cook better" = "I wish I'd thought of the Wagamama's concept first". :D

100% agree with above comment ! Instant noodles taste better than their noodle soup.

Wagamama = Wanna-be Japanese food. Not authentic at all..

We been there once, and will never come back; 100% agree on how the food is tasteless and terrible service. I told everyone I know in Melbourne not to come; especially the one at Chadstone. Stay away from it, instant noodles taste heaps better and you even get better service at McDonald.

Just look at the below average reviews of a typical joint, the one in TGV Sydney.

    excellant

I wouldn't pay money to go to this place, pretty much fast food quality. I guess people go there not because of the food.

There was one operating at Erina Fair but it closed down in about 9 months I think… I ate there once & the food was truly awful.

I have eaten alot of Japanese & would have to say they made about the worst noodles I've ever had. I think the cook must have been a 1st or 2nd year apprentice as he had NO IDEA (!!) what he was doing with food. The noodles were still hard/uncooked in the centre. And it was the most un-japanese tasting 'japanese' dish I've ever eaten. I never went back after the terrible impression those flavourless, hard noodles left on me. And it was way overpriced like everyone else says.

Like the comment above, I had a friend who'd lived in the UK, & had raved about eating at Wagamama over there. When they opened here I was keen to try after her recommendation. But the meal I had was a joke, & and ridiculously overpriced to boot.

Go to Neutral Bay where there are loads of Japanese restaurants, & pay less for something that actually tastes good. Why would you go to Wagamama, when you can have the real thing cooked with skill & attention by actual chefs? I don't know what training the Wagamama cooks are given, but I expect it's about as much as they give the guys at Dominos.

I'd hate to think how much money whoever opened the Erina Fair site lost on the venture. The place looked fantastic. Too bad the food was such utter rubbish…
