KOGAN Is Such Waste of Time. So FRUSTRATING

Recently purchased $500+ worth of kogan voucher form ozb classified
used that voucher to purchased an item from kogan - i didnt realize item was shipped from overseas - contacted kogan straight away (before the item was shipped) after 5-10 em exchanged they have agreed to me to return the product. they have promised me not to send out e voucher and refund me to my account.

once the item was returned and received by them took them another 10 business working days and almost another 5-10 email to organized the refund.

Here where the shit got messy. They have refunded me partial as i had to use my cc to make up the additional amount and rest was transfered to person who i bought the voucher from.
i have told them that i have used the voucher but yet they refunded the person. it seems they didnt understand what was happening, where i have been clear about voucher. they keep coming back to me saying the fund was refunded back to both credit card.

it took me another 20 email back and for them to understand what is happening and got senior CS to look into it. they have asked me to contact the third party i have told them you guys have ffffd up why would i go that distance.

It seems it wasn't going anywhere so decided to contacted to seller directly after 3 weeks and he was honest enough to refund me but of course wanted some confirmation from me and had conformation from kogan if this was legit and if he wasnt get ripped off by me.

kogan came back to me saying you have contacting the owner of the voucher please sort this matter between you too.

just wanted to share this experience as i will never purchase anything from kogan - They are such a time waster and went through so much stress not knowing if they will refund me or not

So you made the mistake? Then literally anything they do is more than you're entitled to.

rest was transfered to person who i bought the voucher from.

i have told them that i have used the voucher but yet they refunded the person.

Of course - their system only has who the owner of the voucher is. They effectively refunded the voucher, because you didn't want the voucher returned.

You literally got what you asked for. And you got your money in the end anyway.

Quit whining, own up to your own mistakes, stop being so entitled.

  • OP, never give up, this should help.

Everyone seems to be trolling the OP instead of giving useful advice.

People are giving useful advice - "Own your mistakes and take responsibility for your actions." It's also applicable to situations other than just this one.

OP has already gotten their full refund, there's no advice to be given here, nor did OP ask for advice. You know what is bad advice? Telling OP to try and scam Kogan to "get back at them".

Edit: Oh you took that bit out of your comment.

I'm surprised Kogan even agreed to refund the voucher to the original purchaser. Given Kogan has refunded the voucher, you would've received more than you actually paid for the vouchers when you bought it off the seller on OzB classifieds.

Who's taking the difference between the face value of the vouchers and the amount you paid (since the original purchaser would've made a loss by selling the vouchers to you at a discounted price)?

Shops generally only do refunds back to original source of the purchase. That way, any fees they incurred during that sale (such as merchant fees on credit card purchases) are also refunded and they make no loss or gain. If they refunded to another credit card or paid you by cheque, they won't get to recoup the earlier fees.

  • Companies are constrained by law when it comes to vouchers and prepaid cards as they can be used for moneylaundering. I'd say you simply got caught up in that and it's not Kogan's fault per se.

  • My experience with them is from a few years back, but I heavily judge companies based on how they handle customer complaints. As a result, I never even consider Kogan for purchases anymore (including a lot of purchases I make for work).

Long story short, they sent me a camera that was under an active recall. Before I purchased it, I asked whether I would receive affected stock and was guaranteed that I wouldn't. Camera turns up, it's a recall model. Then they dug their heels in and insisted that it wasn't their fault and lied about everything. Eventually I got them to give me a partial refund, but the effort it took now means that I would only purchase from them in the future under duress.

  • Oh, the humanity!

  • have never had a problem with kogan
