Flights to London - Best Time to Travel?

Hey all,

I'm looking to do a training course in London which is only 5 days, so about a week stay, so I'm after any tips to get the cheapest tickets possible? Time of year, convenience, whatever doesn't apply. I can go anytime, budget is my only real concern.

Looking at tickets on Expedia, it seems I'd be looking at $2300ish return from Brisbane, but if I choose a date in October the prices seem to drop to $1400ish return, almost 1k cheaper! So I'm wondering if certain times of year are generally cheaper, if so, when?

I have no passport, or visa or anything, I am an Australian citizen though. As far as I can tell, based on the Smarttraveller website, I don't need a visa so I'll simply need to get a passport organised and I'm good?

So help a travel newbie out please, would appreciate any tips/advice, or anything at all I should be aware of.

I think that you have answered your own question😄
The peak times are basically during the northern summer, and around the holiday times (Christmas, Easter) when many people are travelling.
October falls outside those times, and will be one of the cheapest months to travel to Europe.

    • Okay good to know, so summer and holidays = expensive. October might be the time to go then. Appreciate the info :D I seirously have no idea as I've never travelled in my life.

wait for a promotion if you're not in a hurry to book now

    • Are promo flights pretty common to London? I've never looked so I have no idea. I'm not in a hurry, so I'll definitely keep an eye on the travel sections and wait for a deal
